“Of course. I’m the head of the SR Alliance. Sweet Kaia, want me to take care of it for you? Kick that Moreno guy out of your life?” Wilson’s deep blue eyes narrowed into slits.
“Our engagement ends in a few days. After that, we’ll just go our own ways, nothing left between us,” Kaia replied casually.
“Oh, that’s good,” Wilson said.
“It’s getting late. If there’s nothing else, I’m gonna hang up now,” Kaia said.
“Alright, I’ll let you get some sleep,” Wilson replied.
After hanging up, Wilson immediately called his assistant over.
“Boss, you called?” the assistant asked.
“Check my private jet. I’m heading to Wustriland in a few days,” Wilson said.
The assistant looked puzzled. “Why Wustriland?”
Wilson gave a wicked grin. “Gonna snatch my woman and bring her back.”
Kaia gave a little shudder. ‘Ugh, who’s gossiping about me at this hour?‘ she thought.
She rolled her eyes. ‘Whatever, time to wash up and hit the sack,‘ she told herself.

Meanwhile, back in the Moreno family, Griffin was losing it.
“Is this how you do things? I told you to hire top–tier killers, didn’t I? How did they all get wiped out? There were over a dozen of you, and you couldn’t even take down a single bodyguard?” Griffin shouted.
His subordinate was shaking like a leaf. “Um, well… Devin was there too.”
“I know Devin is tough, but no matter how good he is, a dozen guys can’t even handle two people? And that Frank guy is just a rookie bodyguard,” Griffin said.
“Boss, there’s something you might not know. I just did some digging on this Frank guy. He may be new, but he can go toe–to–toe with Devin,” the subordinate replied.
“No way,
he’s that good?” Griffin was stunned for a moment.
“Not only that, but I heard from the bodyguards who made it back that this Frank guy might even

“You’re not messing with me, are you? Devin is Tobias’s top guy. He’s not just good at his job, but he’s a beast in a fight. And you’re telling me this Frank guy is even better? Wait… Overlord Blow? Why does that sound so familiar?” Griffin asked.
“It’s Joel’s signature move,” the subordinate replied.
Griffin’s eyes widened, and he raised his voice. “Joel?”
“Yeah, that’s his signature move,” the subordinate confirmed.
Griffin rubbed his chin. “Now that you mention it, I remember watching Joel’s fights back in the day. That Overlord Blow move is absolutely brutal–hits like a ton of bricks. If I’m not mistaken, tons of people have tried to copy it, but it’s almost impossible to pull off. How the hell does this Frank guy know it… Could he be connected to Joel somehow?”
He turned to his subordinate. “Go find out everything you can about Frank. The moment you get anything, report back to me.”
‘Yes, Mr. Moreno,” the subordinate replied.
Summer was scorching hot. It was Tuesday, the fifth anniversary of the institute, and as the boss, Kaia had to treat everyone to a big dinner.
Early that morning, Kaia got a text from the team at the institute.
We’ll be waiting for you at the Splendor Hotel. Don’t forget to come.] One staff member messaged.
Got it.] Kaia replied.
She left at ten.
She grabbed a cab and, half an hour later, pulled up in front of the Splendor Hotel.
As soon as she stepped out, she heard a familiar voice.
“Wow! No wonder this is Morganburg’s number one hotel! I heard it covers 32 thousand square feet. This place is massive! Honestly, it’s my first time here. Louis, I’m only here thanks to you. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably never set foot in a place like this in my whole life. You’re the best!” The speaker was none other than Andrea, the classic fake–sweet type from the Bennett family.
Louis, clearly basking in the praise, said, “We’re about to get engaged, so we’re basically family. No need to thank me. But yeah, the Splendor Hotel isn’t somewhere just anyone can stroll into. It’s strictly for the elite crowd, and you gotta load at least 300 thousand dollars onto your membership card before they even let you through the door.”
As they chatted, they spotted Kaia walking toward the hotel entrance.

“Wait, isn’t that Kaia? Is she really about to go in? No way, I have to stop her before she embarrasses herself,” Andrea put on her most concerned act as she rushed over to block Kaia’s way.
“Kaia, you can’t go in there,” Andrea said.
“Oh? And why not?” Kaia asked, her face indifferent.
‘Such a hick!‘ Andrea sneered to herself.
“This is the Splendor Hotel, Morganburg’s biggest hotel. You need at least 300 thousand on your card just to get in, and you have to be part of the elite crowd. Where would you even get that kind of money? If I didn’t stop you, you’d just barge in, and security would toss you out on the spot!” Andrea said.
She made sure to raise her voice, clearly wanting to make a scene and embarrass Kaia in front of
everyone.
Louis stepped up and pulled out a silver card from his wallet. “Since you’re Andrea’s sister, I’ll let you come in with us. But you better behave–stick close and don’t embarrass me. Dad and Mom will be here soon, and given your past antics, they might say stuff you won’t want to hear. They’re the elders, and you’re just mooching a meal, so keep your head down and don’t cause trouble. As long as you can handle that, I’ll let you tag along and see how the real elite live.”
When people around saw the card in Louis’s hand, a lot of them looked on with envy.
“A silver card! That’s not your average VIP card. I heard you have to put down three million just to get one,” someone exclaimed.
“Yeah, I heard that, too. Honestly, I have three million myself, but there’s no way I’d park all of it on a card just to eat here,” another person said.
“Exactly. We’re all business people. Our money’s tied up in investments and projects. Who’s got that much cash just sitting around to keep on a card? Unless you’ve got money to burn,” someone else chimed in.
Louis basked in all the flattery, soaking up every word like it was music to his ears.
Andrea was just as smug, feeling triumphant that she’d managed to steal Louis right out from under Kaia’s nose.
Louis gave Kaía a smug, mocking glance. “What, you’re just gonna stand there sulking? Come on already. Let me clue you in. Dr. Bennett’s institute is throwing a dinner party here today. The real reason we’re here is to cozy up to them, maybe score some connections. If we’re lucky, we might even bump into Dr. Bennett,”
At the mention of Dr. Bennett, Andrea couldn’t help but feel a rush of nerves. She kept psyching herself up. If I’m lucky enough to meet Dr. Bennett today, I’ve got to do everything I can to make her notice my talent, she thought.
