Kaia took a quick step back, narrowly dodging the slap.
“I remember when you first brought me back from the countryside, you hit me. From then on, I swore to myself that unless I made a mistake, neither you nor Dad had the right to lay a hand on
me,” she said.
“You’re so out of line! Why do I have such an unruly daughter?” Ruth’s chest heaved with fury.
Melvin’s face turned grim as he looked at Lincoln. “This is your wonderful daughter! She’s a disaster at home, and now she has turned Andrea’s engagement party into a circus, making us a laughingstock! How humiliating!”
Emma’s disgust for Kaia was at its peak. “Lincoln, I told you before, a girl raised in the countryside will never change, no matter how strict you are. But you wouldn’t listen. You insisted on bringing her back. Now send her away, as far away as possible. I never want to see her again.”
Lincoln took a deep breath, walked up to Kaia, and raised his hand.
“What, you’re going to hit me too?” Kaia slightly lifted her chin, her expression calm and steady, showing neither fear nor anger.
Off to the side, Devin grew anxious and quickly sent a message to Tobias, filling him in on what was happening.
Tobias’s expression darkened. “Video call me.”
“Yes,” replied Devin.
As soon as the call connected, Tobias saw the Bennett family shutting Kaia out. His brows knitted tightly, and a wave of pain washed over hiin.
Lincoln’s face was stern as he looked at Kaia. “I’ll give you one last chance. Apologize to Andrea. If you can’t do that, you’ll no longer be my daughter!”
“When have you ever treated me like your daughter?” Kaia said indignantly. Her eyes were cold,
“You you.” Lincoln was so furious he could barely speak. “Fine, fine! You won’t apologize, huh? Very well, you don’t care about being my daughter. That’s just perfect! Kaia, listen up. I’m kicking you out. Go back to the countryside and return to your peasant parents!”
Kaia’s anger flared “Peasant parents? You have no right to say that about them. They may be born and raised in the countryside, but they’re honest, hardworking people who’ve always relied on their town hands to make a living. They’ve spent most of their lives for the sake of their children. And you! You only care about your reputation

disrespect will come back to bite you.” Ruth screeched, her face twisted with rage.

“Yeah, you gave birth to me, but that doesn’t mean I owe you my life. Just because you brought me into this world doesn’t mean you can humiliate me or get to decide my fate,” Kaia shot back.
She turned and looked straight at Melvin, Emma, and everyone else in the Bennett family.
“I know you all won’t accept me and think that I embarrass you. You’ve wanted to kick me out for a long time, especially you, Grandpa and Grandma. When you tore up Collin’s painting and demanded I get him to paint another, I refused, and that made you hate me even more.
“What happened today is just the final straw. Honestly, I’ve always known this day would come. I have nothing to do with the Bennett family anymore. Since that’s the case, let’s cut ties. From now on, I have nothing to do with the Bennett family,” Kaia said.
Melvin slammed his cane against the floor. “No matter what happens to you in the future, it has nothing to do with us anymore. Get out! Go!”
Melvin thought that once Kaia was gone, their household could return to its former peace.
Andrea nearly laughed out loud. Now she wouldn’t have to worry about her place in the family anymore. The only downside was that life would be boring without someone to pick on.
Kaia’s face remained completely impassive. “Let’s make it official, then.”
With those words, she turned to leave. But just as she took her first step, Melvin’s voice rang out
behind her.
“Lincoln, make an official post on Twitter. Announce that Kaia has been formally expelled from the family, so she won’t drag our name down if she causes trouble again,” the old man said.
The guests were shocked after hearing that.
“Damn, that’s cold! Kaia has nothing to do with the Bennett family now. Even if she got down on her knees and begged, it wouldn’t change a thing,” one of them remarked quietly.
“Yes, Dad. I’ll have someone post it now.” Lincoln sighed and looked at Kaia with disappointment.
He could put up with a useless daughter, but Kaia just kept stirring up drama. He supposed those guys delivering the flowers were bodyguards for some big shot–someone with real pull in Morganburg
Melvin speculated that the big shot never showed his face because Kaia was his kept woman. If the man’s wife ever found out and came knocking, it would be a nightmare.
But since Kala was kicked out, she could just let her bear the consequences herself.
“Miss Bennet, please get in the car, Devin said, opening the door

Kaia stopped and asked him, “Can you do me a favor?”
“Sure, Miss Bennett,” Devin said.
Kaia leaned in slightly and said, “I’ll send you a video…”
Devin nodded. “Just leave it to me, Miss Bennett. You should go first.”

After receiving the video, Devin turned back and walked up to Andrea, saying, “Miss Kaia Bennett just said she had prepared a special gift for your birthday.”
Andrea instantly felt a sense of dread rising in her heart.
“Everyone, please look at the big screen,” Devin said, pointing to the screen behind them.
The guests turned around in confusion, and in the next instant, their jaws nearly hit the floor.
On the screen, a man and a woman were getting intimate in the car.
“Louis, maybe we should just get a hotel room… What if someone catches us out here?” Andrea whispered, a little nervous.
“Relax, we’re out in the sticks. The only thing out here is mosquitoes. Who’s gonna see us?” Louis
said with a smirk.
“But what if someone really does…” Andrea’s voice trailed off with concern.
“If you’re really afraid, we can go into the woods.” With that, Louis grabbed Andrea’s hand and led her straight toward the trees.
The timestamp on the video showed that it was from four years ago.
At that moment, they all realized Kaia hadn’t lied. Louis and Andrea had been hooking up in secret all this time.
Andrea’s face turned deathly pale, and Louis didn’t look any better.
“So Kaia wasn’t making things up after all. You wronged her.” Penny stood up and called them out.
The Bennett family just kept silent.
“Hey! You’re one of the top families in Morganburg. How can you just ignore this?” Penny snapped, hands on her hips.
Fiona stepped forward and argued, “Kaia isn’t exactly innocent. Even if Andrea and Louis had been messing around for years, Kaia shouldn’t play that video in public. She just wants to humiliate us.”
“Exactly!” Sienna chimed in. “Someone who doesn’t care about the family’s honor shouldn’t stay. Grandpa and Uncle Lincoln did the right thing!”

Penny was about to explode. “Is there anyone in the Bennett family who has any sense? You were the ones who kicked her out first and even posted an official announcement cutting ties with her. If she already has nothing to do with you, why are you still talking about family honor? Kaia’s just way too nice. Trust me, if I were in her shoes, I’d have gone even further.”
