Seeing how merciless he had become, Angelica finally broke. She collapsed to the ground, crying uncontrollably. “It wasn’t me! I didn’t kill your mother! I didn’t know the person on the operating table was your mother. I really didn’t mean it. I thought…”
“You thought it was my mother.” I looked at her coolly and finished her sentence for her.
“You thought the same as Gabriel. He indulged you; you just wanted to be cruel. You thought it was my mother, so you deliberately stopped him from giving me money. You liked Gabriel, hated me all along, and used every trick you could to suppress me.
“Even sending her for dissection, you spoke about contributing to society, but in reality, you deliberately let them mutilate her body to vent your anger. And even that wasn’t enough. Your twisted mind came up with the ‘water burial‘ next.
“Angelica, you hid behind the excuse of frugality to commit every vile act imaginable, and now you’re acting all wronged? What on earth do you have to be wronged about?”
With each word I spat at her, her face grew paler, until it was ashen. She glared at me, like she wanted to tear me apart.
“You’re lying! I’m not as bad as you say! I only like Mr. Simon! What’s wrong with that? If anyone’s to blame, it’s you, bitch! If you hadn’t clung to Mr. Simon, none of this would have happened! You’re the real cause of all this! I’ll avenge Madam Simon! I’ll kill you!”
Then, she lunged at me.

Just as she was about to land on me, a figure stepped forward and kicked her to the ground.
By now, Gabriel had lost all control. His eyes were bloodshot, and a knife appeared in his hand as if from nowhere.
He pinned Angelica down, stabbing her again and again with all his strength.
She didn’t even have time to scream before her stomach was soaked in blood.
“Bitch! Die! This is all your fault! You destroyed my mother! I’ll kill you! I’ll make you pay today!”
No one had expected him to act like this. Everyone froze, terrified.
As Angelica’s breathing grew faint, someone finally snapped out of shock and pulled Gabriel away.
After the ambulance took Angelica away, Gabriel collapsed on the ground, utterly drained.
He couldn’t hold back anymore. He wept uncontrollably, sobbing and repeating apologies in pitiful despair.
I walked up to him and crouched before him.
Gabriel looked up, tear–streaked and helpless like a child. If this had been before, I might have felt pity. Now, I only felt disgust.
He didn’t feel pain until the knife wasn’t aimed at himself. Before he realized it wasn’t his mother, he hadn’t been like this at all.
“Amy, I don’t have a mother anymore. I’ll never have a mother again…..” he choked out.

I smirked and slid the divorce papers I had already prepared in front of him.
“Oh, really? You’re missing one thing–starting today, you don’t have a wife either. Sign the papers. Your crime against Angelica can’t be hidden. Before you end up in prison, I want my freedom back.
