Chapter 15
The room erupted in shock!
Mia’s smile froze on her face as she stammered: “Wh what great–uncle? Dom, what are you talking about?”
An elderly man with silver hair, leaning on a cane, was escorted forward by the butler. He smiled appreciatively at Mia: “50 this is my future bride? Excellent, excellent.”
“This is my grandfather’s cousin,” Dominic explained coolly. “He’s been a widower for many years and wishes to remarry.”
Mia stumbled backward: “Impossible! Dom, this isn’t funny at all!”
“Dominic Reed, you must be joking–he’s old enough to be my grandfather!”
“Who gave you permission to address the young master so casually?” A security guard delivered a stinging slap to her face, instantly causing one side to swell.
Frederick finally comprehended the situation, rushing forward: “Mr. Reed, there must be some misunderstanding. You clearly showed interest in Mia…”
“Mr. Reeves,” Dominic cut him off, his voice glacial, “my great–uncle is quite taken with your daughter. If you agree to this marriage, North Shore Industries will establish a long–term partnership with Reeves Enterprises.”
Frederick’s expression transformed instantly.
A long–term partnership… with North Shore! That would elevate Reeves Enterprises into the ranks of first–tier companies!
“Father!” Mia clutched his arm in terror. “You won’t agree to this, right?”
Frederick hesitated briefly, then abruptly shook off his daughter’s hand: “Marrying into the Reed family is your good fortune!” Frederick turned toward Dominic with a sycophantic smile. “Mr. Reed, rest assured. I’ll make sure my daughter and your uncle go and get their marriage license today! They’ll cónsummate the marriage tonight!”
Mia stared at her father in utter disbelief, her mind blank with shock.
No!
This wasn’t how things were supposed to be!
This couldn’t be happening!
She threw herself toward Dominic, sobbing: “Dom! You’re just joking, aren’t you? You love me the most, don’t you? You were willing to risk your life for me!”
Dominic stepped back, avoiding her touch with obvious disgust.
“Love?” He laughed coldly. “I loved the kind–hearted girl I saw at the charity gala three years ago–not you.”
Mia was thunderstruck: “What do you mean?”
“It means I mistook the wrong person. I thought I loved you, but in reality, the woman I fell for was your sister, Ariana Reeves!”

“Instruct the doctors,” Dominic said calmly through the lowered window to his security team. “Keep him alive. wish–he were dead.”
The black sports car tore along the mountain highway at 200 miles per hour.
The veins on Dominic’s hands stood out as he gripped the steering wheel. Only after driving for an hour did he finally beg to

“Ari,” he whispered, “I’ve finally avenged you.”
He dialed his assistant: “Prepare the private jet. We’re going to South Bay immediately.”
His assistant’s voice wavered: “Sir, I’m afraid we might be too late…”
“What do you mean?”
“Today… is Miss Ariana’s wedding day with the Sinclair heir.”
Heard of that, Dominic slammed on the brakes: “Wedding? What wedding? Isn’t Christopher Sinclair in a cor
