Elyna lit up. “I knew you’d come through! Our son and I will love you forever!”
She held up the baby. “Look! He’s smiling at you! Same eyebrows, same nose–he’s your twin, right?”
Cedric smiled back, trying to believe it.
But the more he stared, the more it didn’t sit right.
He pulled her bank records. Less than an hour after the transfer, the whole million went to Gaspard.
But that wasn’t even the worst part.
Turns out, she’d been with Gaspard the whole time. The kid? Not his.
It was Gaspard’s.
Cedric stumbled back, a sharp laugh slipping out as he dragged a hand down his face.
