Forty thousand feet above the earth, the private jet sliced smoothly through the endless sky. Outside the windows, clouds spread like a vast frozen sea, soft and brilliant, stretching beyond the horizon.
The man sat upright on the leather sofa, his crisp white shirt immaculate. His dark red tie was patterned with subtle swirling designs and tied in a flawless Windsor knot. A black and gold tie clip, inlaid with a small red gemstone, caught the light quictly. He crossed his long legs and focused intently on the video conference, his posture perfect, his gaze sharp.
When the discussion reached a pause, he raised his hand slightly, signaling a short break. His voice was calm but carried quiet authority.
“Hold on. Let me check my WhatsApp.”
In the AeroAir executive conference room, several high–ranking officers watched the young CEO lean forward and pick up his phone. His long fingers moved over the screen with precise ease, each swipe deliberate.
Everyone in the room wondered what could command such immediate attention from a man so focused on business. Whatever it was had to be important.
They speculated who could have sent the message when, suddenly, a soft, melodic female voice filled the speakers. It was sweet, warm, and direct.
“Hubby? Did you get that?”
Jonathan put down his phone and looked back at the screen, his expression calm and casual, as if he had not noticed the sudden tension in the room.
“Okay, continue.”
The finance director froze mid–sentence, completely forgetting the report he had been giving.
Only the legal director dared to speak first, noticing Jonathan’s relaxed posture and
“Mr. Fullbuster, are you in love?”

smile.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow and leaned back on the sofa, adjusting his crossed legs. He tilted his head slightly, a faint smile on his lips.
“Is it that obvious?” he said lightly. “Or did I make it too festive wearing this tie? Had to make it a ceremony. Not every day you get to take a marriage license.”

Zion, sitting across the room and taking notes, stared blankly at the ceiling.

Mr. Fullbuster, if you want the whole world to know you are married, you could have just said it. There is no need to act so stiffly, he thought.
He had already played Anneliese’s voice message on repeat for half an hour before the meeting.
Acting like he had just received it now was completely unnecessary.
The other executives could hardly hide their shock.
They were not hearing things.
Their boss had just gotten a marriage license.
The Fullbuster Family now had a princess consort.
“Congratulations, Mr. Fullbuster. To a long and happy marriage and many children.”
“This is truly a great day for AeroAir. Though Mr. Fullbuster had to go on a work trip right after getting the license, Mrs. Fullbuster must’ve been kind and understanding enough to accept that.”
Some of the quicker thinkers smiled, offering these polite, warm comments immediately.
Jonathan raised his hand. “All AeroAir employees will get cash gifts today. I will cover it personally. I will not discuss personal matters further. Continue. Mr. Crescendia, you were reporting on the debts of these three airports. Were there any hidden liabilities?”
The CEO returned fully to the meeting, and ten more minutes later, the conference ended.
By then, the news of Jonathan getting a marriage license had already spread throughout AeroAir.
Selina, of course, heard it too. She felt as if she had been struck by lightning.
She had never expected that after finally completing her studies abroad and returning to AeroAir, coming closer to Jonathan, she would find he had already married.
Selina did not know who he had married. But when she thought of the way he had protected and cared for Anneliese at the banquet, a deep unease settled over her.
Panicked, she found a quiet corner and called Melanie.

“Mom, has Anneliese gone home to pick up her papers in the past two days?”
Since the banquet, Melanie had been on edge.

Everywhere she went, people stared and whispered. She had avoided going out and had called a beautician to her home for treatments.
Hearing Selina’s question, she frowned and sat up, pushing away the beautician’s hands.
“Why are you asking about her? She hasn’t come back recently, and she hasn’t taken her papers. Why would she need it?”
Selina exhaled in relief.
At least the person who married Jonathan was not Anneliese.
“Never mind. We’ll talk later.” Selina ended the call quickly.
She still wanted to confirm the news. Maybe Jonathan’s marriage was just a rumor.
Melanie held the phone, frowning. Suddenly, a memory hit her.
That night at the banquet, Christopher had said Anneliese had planned to take her papers so she could finish giving her the villa. But the papers were returned in the end, and the villa had never been given.
They had planned to check the papers, but Selina had suddenly fainted and had to be rushed to the hospital. The matter had been forgotten.
Can it be… Melanie thought.
Melanie’s expression changed instantly. She could not care about her beauty treatment anymore. She ripped off the expensive facial mask and waved the beautician away.
