Melanie’s face flushed red with anger.
“Stop crying, baby. I’ll make her pay for what she did to you,” she said with fury.
Christopher’s jaw tightened, his face dark. “She wrecked her own marriage and lives in misery, so now she’s determined to ruin Selina too.”
If Selina had married Jonathan, the White family would have risen higher than ever before. Anneliese hadn’t only crushed Selina’s happiness. She had dragged down the future of the family.
“Mrs. Fullbuster really isn’t speaking to you anymore?”
The voice came from the doorway. Timothy and Perseus had just returned, and their expressions were grim.
The company’s crisis had grown worse.
Zacharias had wired five hundred million, which gave them some relief for a while, but in the afternoon, Clauderias Tech demanded every cent back.
When Zacharias first made the transfer, he had already protected himself, so his move to reclaim the money was fully legal.
Timothy had called him personally, his voice calm and patient, but Zacharias said his hands were tied. He admitted it was Anneliese who kept pushing him to pull the funds back.

Timothy’s fury erupted. “That ungrateful wretch. That heartless girl. Drag her back here, even if you have to tie her hands. I want her here tomorrow!”
