Perseus‘ complexion turned ghostly pale, yet a bitter laugh escaped him, his fury straining at the edges of control.
“Fine! I’m the fool here, alright? It’s my fault for valuing a traitor like you more than
more than my own sister! I should’ve stayed out of it altogether. Go ahead–humiliate yourself however you want!”
He shouted the words, then stormed out, slamming the door so hard the walls seemed to tremble.
Anneliese froze in shock. Perseus had always doted on Selina, yet now they were tearing each other apart in front of everyone.
Selina’s face was streaked with tears as she frantically looked around. “No, I… I didn’t wet myself!”
She clawed at her gown, wiping her hands against the fabric, only to smear something sticky and brown across her palm.
Horrified, she raised it to her nose, and realization struck instantly.
Her expression twisted with revulsion, but she tried to defend herself. “It’s not what you think! It’s chocolate, not… Smell it if you don’t believe me!”
She thrust her hand toward the nearest bystanders, but they recoiled with disgust, covering their noses as though she were contagious.
Desperation mounted. “It’s really chocolate! I’ll prove it! I’ll eat it if I have to!”
She licked her finger, but instead of convincing anyone, it only made the crowd retreat further, their faces twisted with horror.
Several people even gagged audibly.
No one believed her.
Selina’s shame boiled into rage. There was no way this had happened by chance,
Then, it dawned on her.
When Jonathan had walked in earlier, everyone’s attention, including hers, had shifted to him.
Before that, she vaguely recalled the little girl Anneliese had brought wandering toward the

dessert table.
It had to be her.
Selina’s eyes narrowed. Spotting the child hiding timidly behind Anneliese, she strode forward, her fury blazing.
“It was you! Anneliese, you ordered this girl to smear chocolate on me, didn’t you?”
“Selina, maybe you should clean yourself up first,” Anneliese replied sharply, frowning.
But Selina ignored her.

Then, she lunged for the girl, desperate to clear her own name. “Tell me–was it you? Why would you do this to me?”
Before Anneliese could shield the little girl, Jonathan stepped forward.
In one smooth motion, he scooped the girl into his arms and wrapped an arm protectively around Anneliese, pulling them both away.
However, Jonathan could say anything, the little girl, frightened by Selina’s hysterical outburst, suddenly burst into tears. She cried while shaking her head and waving her hands desperately, looking utterly aggrieved.
“Look how scared she is!” someone cried.
“Her hands and clothes are spotless. How can a girl be responsible for this?”
“I can testify–she’s been with Mrs. Fullbuster the entire time.”
“Exactly. And honestly, the smell alone proves it wasn’t chocolate!”
The crowd grew louder, siding with the sobbing girl.
Selina’s protests only sank her deeper into humiliation.
Her face contorted with fury. “You’re all against me! It was her! Anneliese put her up to this! Check the security cameras–I demand the footage!”
Her voice broke into shrieks, her composure completely shattered.
“Enough! This is absurd!” Derek stormed over, his expression thunderous. He turned to Timothy with unconcealed contempt.

“Mr. White, I extended this invitation only out of respect for the past. However, your daughter has disrupted my banquet from the start, and now she’s humiliating my guests. Are you deliberately trying to provoke my family?”
Timothy’s face burned with shame. “No, no–it’s my failure as a father. I’m deeply sorry.”
He had always considered Selina his pride, never imagining she could lose control so disgracefully.
Still reeling in shock, he was suddenly called out. Stepping forward, he grabbed hold of Selina and apologized to Derek, then turned to Anneliese with a pleading look. “Anne, we’re family. Please, help me and your sister explain this away.”
Anneliese remained cold and unmoved, ready to state openly that she had severed ties with the Whites.
Before she could speak, Selina erupted again, unable to bear the humiliation.
“Dad, don’t beg her! She’s the one who–ah!”
Timothy spun and struck her hard across the face. “Enough!”
He was livid that Selina still couldn’t grasp reality.
Anneliese was Jonathan’s wife now, and Jonathan’s silent presence alone was more powerful than any defense.
For Selina to keep screaming was nothing short of courting disaster.
The slap left Selina trembling, her eyes wild with fury and disbelief, as though she might lose her mind entirely.
