By the time Jonathan lifted the blanket and lay down beside her, Anneliese had already counted up to 863 sheep.
Penelope had only given them one blanket. When Jonathan lay on his side, Anneliese immediately felt the heat from his body and the fresh, cool scent that came with him.
She stayed still, not moving at all.
Then a low voice came from behind her. “Didn’t I tell you before that you’re terrible at pretending to be asleep?”
Anneliese stayed silent.
Before she could respond, his arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his familiar embrace. Her cheek pressed against his warm, firm chest.
He wasn’t wearing a shirt.
Her face heated on the side pressed against him. Jonathan seemed to notice her reaction and let out a sigh.
“The pajamas Grandma prepared didn’t fit.”
Anneliese froze.
Did Grandma really give him a closet full of those ridiculous pajama sets too?
What would men’s versions even look like?
She had never seen any before, and part of her actually wanted to.
But she didn’t dare ask. She just gave a soft “Mm…”
Jonathan’s large hand gently patted her shoulder. “Go to sleep. Goodnight.”

Her heart skipped a beat. She quickly curled her fingers, but since they were pressed so close, there wasn’t much room. Her hand ended up brushing across his abs as if she were tickling him. He let out a muffled sound and caught her wandering hand.
“I… I didn’t mean to…” Anneliese’s face turned red.
Jonathan paused for a moment, his voice low and rough.
“You could mean it. Don’t you really want to touch?”

Touch?
Touch where?
Her mind went blank until he guided her hand down onto his firm abs.
She wanted to say she hadn’t meant to, but sometimes the body reacted faster than the brain.
The feeling was really good.
Smooth, solid, full of energy, with strength hidden underneath.
And somehow, it felt even hotter.
“Now that you’ve started a fire, are you gonna put it out?”

His rough voice sounded above her head. Anneliese blushed even harder and tried to pull her hand back.
But he held her wrist again. “Just teasing without taking responsibility? Baby, that’s cold.”
His tone held both frustration and complaint, low and tempting.
Anneliese was speechless.
How could he call her baby like that?
Her whole body felt like it was on fire. She was embarrassed and flustered, turning her head away as she weakly argued.
“I wasn’t! You’re the one who told me to touch!”
Her voice shook. His chest rumbled with a sigh before he spoke again.
“Oh, so obedient? Then what if I tell you to keep going…”
Anneliese grew even more nervous.
Before she could answer, he tightened his grip on her hand and guided it lower.
Her mind went blank. She looked up in shock.
But he lowered his head, and in the dark, he easily found her lips and kissed her.
Soft at first, just tasting.
Then his hot kisses trailed from her lips to her eyes, her cheek, her neck, and her ear.
“Don’t you want to say a proper hello? Hearing you say you’re satisfied would keep me excited all night. I can’t hold back… Baby, help me, yeah?”
The night grew heavy, and Anneliese was swept along.
She realized it then. She had walked right into a trap, and Jonathan was the sly fox who knew exactly how to set it.
“Anne, eat more. These are really good for women. I had the cook make them just for you.”
The next morning at breakfast, Penelope smiled warmly and encouraged Anneliese to eat
