“Then, give me a kiss and a hug before I get up. Honey, hurry and kiss me. Hug me! Not enough. Kiss here too, and here! And also here! Here!”
After a round of playful kisses, Jonathan’s voice sounded even more helpless.
“Baby? You’ve had enough kisses. Now, it’s time to get up. No stalling.”
“Mm, kisses feel so nice, sleeping feels so nice. I don’t want to get up. Honey, you’re the best. I love you. I’ll see you in my dreams. Mwah…”
As her voice faded, Anneliese heard a sound like a kitten purring.
The audio ended, and when it automatically started to play again, she couldn’t bring herself to listen. She hurriedly hit stop, then quickly deleted it.
She covered her face.
She really hadn’t known she acted like this when she was drunk.
Back when she worked in the PR department at Clauderias Tech, she often had to drink at events, sometimes even to the point of getting sick, but she had never been like this.
Every time, she had just gone straight to sleep quietly.
She had good tolerance, knowing, It’s all his fault.
He had woken her up when she had been sleeping soundly.
With that thought, Anneliese’s embarrassment instantly eased. She sent Jonathan a cute cat- covering–face emoji and tossed her phone aside.
An hour later, Anneliese arrived at Moonlit Pavilion and went to the same private room upstairs as last time.
Meanwhile, Miles had been keeping watch outside the coffeehouse since dawn. He confirmed that before 8 a.m., Timothy had entered through the back door and hadn’t come out since.

Inside the private room, Anneliese brewed a pot of coffee and stood by the window looking
out.
Before long, she saw a familiar car pull into the parking lot in front of the coffeehouse.
Perseus got out of the driver’s seat and opened the back door. Christopher and Melanie stepped out one after the other.
Anneliese quickly lowered her head and sent Jessica an emoji.
Downstairs, Jessica was sitting in a corner booth. She quickly flipped her hand and knocked over the coffee pot and cups. Her scream instantly drew the manager and waiters.
So, when Melanie and the other two walked in, no one even noticed them.
Anneliese stood at the top of the stairs on the second floor. When the three saw her, they came up right away.
She had pushed the staff away because she worried they might recognize the three and tip off Timothy and Mikita.
Christopher helped Melanie up the stairs and looked at Anneliese with sarcasm. “Well, isn’t this rare? You actually came to greet us yourself.”
Anneliese was in a good mood that day. Since she was about to let them sit back and watch a good show, she didn’t care about his mocking tone.
With a light smile, she said, “I’ve already ordered coffee and snacks. Please, this way.”
She turned and walked toward the private room.
Melanie and Perseus exchanged looks, each of them showing some surprise.
They used to ignore Anneliese, but now, they actually felt it was unusual just because she spoke to them normally.
They followed her into the private room. When Anneliese poured coffee for them, the uneasy feeling only grew stronger.
“Anneliese, what are you trying to do?” Christopher looked suspicious. He even wondered
whether she had poisoned their drinks.

That morning, their mother had called, saying Anneliese had invited the three of them to Moonlit Pavilion for a talk.
It was already strange that Anneliese had invited them. Her behavior that day was even
stranger.
Could it be that she has finally had enough, is softening, and realizes how important we are to her?
With that thought, Christopher didn’t wait for her to answer and said, “Since you want to repair the relationship, you should show some sincerity. Just pouring coffee isn’t enough.
“You disrespected us by making Mom so ill during this time. Offer Mom a drink in lieu of an apology.
“Perseus, Mom, don’t you agree?”
Christopher shot looks at Melanie and Perseus.
Perseus‘ eyes flickered. He had wanted to refuse, since Anneliese had a different status now. If she was finally willing to reconcile, they shouldn’t anger her again.
Then, he thought of how much frustration they had endured from her recently, and he felt they needed to put her in her place.
Only then would Anneliese learn her lesson, understand that they weren’t easy to forgive, and be more obedient in the future.
He nodded with restraint. “Christopher is right.”
