She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself for a long time before calling Zacharias.
“Zach, do you know where Anne is right now? I want to beg her for help…”
Before she could finish, Zacharias cut her off. “Where are you?”

Hearing his question, Selina thought he’d finally remembered her and was actually worried about her. Her mood lifted a little, and she smiled faintly, immediately telling Zacharias her location.
“Wait there.”
Zacharias hung up after just those two words.
He sounded completely cold, but Selina didn’t notice it at all through the phone.

A cold smile formed at the corner of Selina’s lips. She didn’t have to wait long before she saw Zacharias pull up. She adjusted her expression, hugged her arms around herself, and hurried toward the car with a pitiful look.
“Zach, I ran into a creepy cab driver just now. He kept staring at me and asking all these inappropriate questions. I was so scared that I had to get off early. It’s freezing tonight, but thank goodness you came to rescue me! You’re the best…”
As she spoke, Selina rushed toward Zacharias as he got out of the car. However, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
His handsome face was stormy, his eyes dark and frightening.

She sensed danger and instinctively tried to back away, but it was already too late.
There was a loud crash as Zacharias grabbed Selina’s wrist and threw her hard.

Tears welled up in Selina’s eyes.
However, before she could get up from the hood, Zacharias pressed down on her shoulder and demanded, “Selina, was it really you who paid my mother’s hospital bills back then?”
His voice was icy, his eyes cold as a deep winter.
Selina’s heart lurched, panic flashing in her eyes. Could Zacharias have found out?
Her lips trembled. She grabbed Zacharias‘ wrist, shocked. “Zacharias, why are you suddenly asking me this? Didn’t you see me at the hospital back then?”
No matter how convincing Selina’s act was, Zacharias still caught the flicker of panic and guilt in her eyes. She seemed truly startled and hurt by his suspicions.
She really is a good actress. I wonder how many of her words have ever been true.
“You’re still lying to me, huh? Explain this!” Zacharias pulled out two payment receipts and threw them in Selina’s face.
Selina picked up the receipts, her gaze immediately filled with hate. So Anneliese told him after all. D*mn you, Anneliese! You already have Jonathan, so why ruin things for me?
