Chapter 25
As Landon walked through campus holding the bouquet, he drew many sidelong glances,
Although Landon had changed his ways in the past two years and stopped dating, his fame was no less than before.
After all, at this university, everyone knew who Landon Crow was-teachers, students, even freshmen. A man as divinely handsome and talented as him was destined to be the center of attention wherever he went.
Still, a man as charismatic as Landon holding a bouquet of flowers was, in itself, an extremely pleasing sight.
When Landon returned to the auditorium with the bouquet, the graduation ceremony was not yet over.
But when he looked with a smile toward the seat where Melody had just been sitting, he found that it was empty. Melody was gone.
Landon panicked instantly.
How could she have disappeared in the time it took him to go buy flowers?
Where could she have gone?
Landon immediately found the head of the student union and asked about Melody, only to learn that she had gone backstage to rest.
According to the student union leader, they were also surprised they were able to get Melody to speak.
When they had invited her before, she didn’t have the time. Today, she had rushed to the auditorium straight from the airport, not even taking a moment to res before going on stage.
The long flight and the hastily prepared speech had taken a huge toll on her. If she sat in the audience any longer, she felt she would likely fall asleep to the drone of the speeches. So, she had quietly slipped away to the backstage lounge to take a short nap.
At this time, everyone was in the auditorium for the ceremony, so the lounge was empty.
Melody finally let go of her exhaustion, curled up on the sofa in the corner, and leaned against a cushion, wanting to doze off.
But just as she was about to drift off to sleep, the door to the lounge creaked open.
Melody groggily opened her eyes and looked toward the sound, only to see the person she had loved deeply for so many years.
Her ex-boyfriend, Landon Crow.
n a state between sleep and wakefulness, Melody’s vision was a bit blurry, but with him, she had always been able to identify him from just a vague silhouette.
Seeing it was Landon, Melody rubbed her eyes, most of her sleepiness gone.
wo years was enough to change many things, but what hadn’t changed was that being alone with Landon again still made Melody feel a bit uncomfortable.
t was just that before, the discomfort mostly came from shyness, but now, it came more from awkwardness.
t wasn’t that Melody hadn’t considered that returning to Northwood meant she would run into Landon again. After all, that was one of the main reasons she mad chosen to leave in the first place.
But she hadn’t expected their reunion to happen so soon, and she certainly hadn’t expected it to happen under these circumstances.
Candon was holding a bouquet of flowers, clearly intended for someone.
For the past two years, Melody had deliberately avoided all news about Landon. So now, seeing him in the backstage lounge with flowers in his hands, she subconsciously thought he was probably there to give them to his new girlfriend.
Unfortunately, there was no one else here besides her. The person Landon was looking for was clearly not here.
After more than two years apart, Landon’s face had barely changed. He was still handsome, indifferent, and as coolly composed as ever.
Beneath his jet black hair were a pair of deep eyes, and those eyes had been locked on her face from the very beginning.
Could it be these flowers were for her?
