Hed thought it might happen , her being fully overwhelmed by her emotions as they came into effect .
Theyd sat together with Shannon and discussed it before all this had started .
So , she knew that lack of sleep would raise her fear and anxiety , and that calming down when it was triggered could take anywhere up to 20 minutes for the symptoms to reside if they were severe .
Theyd also sat down with Whitney but not Milly .
She was too little to understand what was going on and explained to Whit that something was wrong with Freya .
Hed not liked hearing it and had tried to speak with Freya , apparently something he could do all the time .
Not even Whit had gotten a response from Freya that day , and hed not liked it anymore than Belladonna had .
But hed also seen that during that conversation , which had happened the night of Freya slumbering had begun , as Belladonna called it , after Milly had gone to bed .
That his own mothers eyes had changed colour right in front of him .
Whit had stared at her a little wide eyed and then looked from Belladonna to him , confused as to what was going on .
Hed explained what he thought was happening , that his mother had two wolves currently , and only Freya was able to be seen , but now that she was slumbering , the other was trying to surface .
Those were the eyes he was seeing .
It was a lot to try and take in , but he needed to be told , considering Belladonnas anxiety was on the increase , and it had been by that night after reading the book about Citron Wolves .
Hed given Whitney a pack phone with not only his number in it , but the numbers for all of his unit and Annette as well; the next morning , when Whit had come to him worried about seeing his mother cry .
Not something hed seen before .
They didnt know what was going to happen , but theyd had to tell him about Belladonnas disconnection from everything all of her life .
That other than Whitney and Milly , she didnt really feel a connection to anyone at all , never had .
And now that she was starting to feel that , it was overwhelming her .
Seeing her cry for no reason , Whit hadnt understood it and come to him about it .
Whit had been unhappy sitting in his office the morning after it all started , and had stated that he wouldnt be able to call for help if something happened during the night .
There was no house phone .
Parker had nodded , the boy was right .
They werent pack members and Belladonna couldnt mind link to anyone here to get help .

Not many Whits age would have a phone inside the pack , but it would be for the best under the current circumstances .
Whit had also told him that hed heard his mother up several times that night , she wasnt sleeping well .
Now this afternoon , hed removed himself and Milly from the house they were staying in and called him to tell him what had happened .
His mother was , in Whits words , freaking out and hed left because Milly was also now upset .
Parker had been gone from the packhouse , mind linked to Shannon to tell him Belladonna was in need of him as a Gamma .
Hed looked at Whit carrying a still crying Milly towards the packhouse as hed headed for her house .
Hed stopped only long enough to ask if they were alright , and Whit nodded but looked unhappy .
He then told him to go up to the packhouse and stay with Kane .
That he and Shannon would go and help his mother .
Whit again just nodded , hed had been headed in that direction anyway and Kane was waiting for the boy .
Hed been with him when hed taken the call , had looked at him after hed hung up and sighed Its the new moon Parker .
Hed stated as Parker was leaving the office .
Now this , the amount of fear rolling off Belladonna , and shed also managed to reject Shannons use of his Gammas Charm when shed been enveloped in it , was open to it even .
That was odd , though Shannon put it down to a sudden and instant influx of her fear of falling asleep .
Adrenaline had suddenly shot through her body and shed been shot into fight and flight mode .
Parker felt her cling on to him like he was a lifeline that she needed , and his heart ached for her .
He could actually feel her fear .
It was very real to her and tonight , with the new moon upon them , that one day a month when their own wolves were at their weakest , death was something that occurred on new moons .
She , being a doctor , knew this , she wolves in labour could die , newborn pups could die .
Annette always tried to stall she wolves labours that coincided with new moons .
Hed also seen Belladonna do this as well .
It didnt always work and not all died on a new moon , but looking at wolfen kind , the majority of deaths occurred on those days or nights .
He sat out there in the forest with Belladonna in his lap , just holding her and trying to provide reassurance and comfort , until she finally started to calm down and then finally she fell 103 +8 Points > asleep , something he knew she actually needed .
Proper sleep .
She had listened to him , trusted him , and he could see that Shannon was not too far away, leaning up against a tree , watching the two of them , though likely to be solely focused on Belladonna .
His Gamma didnt interrupt , just smiled at him when she finally relaxed and slept , Very well done .
Shannon had stated down the mind link , not wanting to wake her .
I think she trusts you completely .
Kind of responded to you like a mate would .
We were mates once .
Was all hed stated , but hed liked hearing it nonetheless , they were getting along well over the past week , and the last few days , she had willingly come to him when worried about herself and talked to him , sort him out herself .
That was good .

Shannon had stated .
Leave it Shannon , that is something for Belladonna to decide on her own .
hed murmured .
His unit had told him to pick up the pace where she was concerned , but he wouldnt , he could take things slowly .
There was no rush , and if she had no connection to anything at all , that meant him as well .
So slow was best , so she could see his intent even though she didnt feel it .
When she could understand her own emotions , shed be able to look back on things and think about him and her , with a view to rekindling what theyd once had ; only a better , healthier relationship they would have this time around .
Shed not told him no , not told him yes , but he understood that with her disconnection from everything .
Hed gotten up off the ground with Shannons help , and theyd headed for the pack hospital , where he could have Annette administer a light sedative to help Belladonna stay asleep and get proper rest .
Only to come to a halt half way there , as he felt his connection to his entire pack kind of just fade away from him .
Shannon felt it as well .
His head whipped around , and he stared at Parker knew that Parker himself had a stronger connection with everyone that had pledged to him Its .
he frowned himself as he tried to sense out what had happened .
As if theyre all suddenly sleeping .
It was the oddest dulling of his connection to his pack hed ever felt .
But they werent gone from him.
Theyre still here , he told Shannon .
Then the air around them changed , and he shivered .
It was like the temperature had dropped 30 degrees , and Belladonna shifted in his arms .
He looked down at her and saw her eyes flicker , then she roused and looked up at him .
Her eyes , however , werent Belladonnas .
They were like two full moons looking up at him .
Put me down .
She stated in the gravelly voice of her wolf .
It wasnt Belladonna , but Freya looking up at him , talking to him , telling him to put 3/4 103 her down .
+8 Points > Parker put her feet on the ground and both he and Shannon grabbed onto her as she stumbled , appearing unable to bear the weight of her own body .
And they assisted her to sit on the ground , too weak it appeared to even be able to stand on her own .
Though she was no longer looking at him , at something further away , his eyes followed her line of sight , and there was a woman walking towards them , tall and willowy , wearing a long dark blue dress .
Her hair was black , long and lustrous and fell almost to her knees .
She didnt even look at him or Shannon , she only had eyes for Freya .
