“Try to let me in,” I whispered to her softly, “Close your eyes and imagine you’re opening a door for me, allowing me
inside.”
I could see her trying to picture a door, but the image was unstable. I let go of her hand and took a small step back.
“What is it? Is something wrong, am I not good enough to be here?” She asked voicing her worries.
“No, I haven’t even entered your body yet. You’re blocking me.”
“Oh.” She whispered quietly, “Is there something else we can try.”
“There is one more thing we can try, although you may be opposed to it.”
“I am willing to try anything.” She responded, a look of determination on her face. “The more that I can find out about myself the better.”
I had read her file, I knew she was an orphan who had never been adopted. She had grown up in the orphanage from the day her parents dropped her off with just a letter and a book, until the day she turned eighteen and aged out of the orphanage. She then had to get her own apartment.
“I would need to hold your body tightly against mine, if the power sharing doesn’t work just by our bodies touching more, then I would need to slip my tongue into your mouth, basically opening an entrance for my powers to seep
through.”
She hesitated for a moment. “If you’re certain this will work, then I am willing to try.”
“I am positive, this is the most extreme version of power sharing. It’s usually only used between the Gods themselves and a relative of Loki, if not Loki himself. You’re strong enough that you will be able to survive the invasiveness of my powers into your body.” I replied trying to reassure her.
“How do you know I am strong enough if you haven’t tapped into my powers yet?” She asks.
“I can feel them radiating off of your body, they’re calling to some of powers, that I have buried deep down. I am sure others can feel your gift calling to them as well.”
“Okay,” She responded stepping closer to me, “I am ready.”
I open my arms and let her snuggle into my chest her arms tightening around my neck as I wrap mine around her waist, pulling her tightly against me. My powers already calling to her, trying to find a way in. The vibrations are stronger, the wall less stable, but still she is blocking me. I release on of my hands from her waist, and place my hand firmly on her chin, making her look up at me. I feel her breathing increase, she knows what is about to happen. I slam my lips against her ferociously letting my primal instincts take over a little. I kiss her roughly, sucking her bottom lip into my mouth before I bite into it. I am not gentle and it causes her to let out a gasp, giving my tongue access to her mouth, as soon as my tongue touches hers, I can feel my power flowing into her body,

calling to hers. I am surprised when my minds eye is greeted with images of bright whiteness a symbol of purity. Sitting in the middle are four elements, the Earth represented by plants, the Sky represented by flowing air, the Sea represented by waves crashing against a cliff, and the Underworld represented by a raging fire. On one side of the elements is a beautiful white angel wing, one the other side is something to blurry for my powers to see, making me wonder if it is a fallen angel wing, instead of white the wing would appear black. My gift didn’t allow me to see
demonic powers.
I pulled away from her breaking the kiss and calling my powers back to me, I could feel our powers intertwining and if I wasn’t quick enough a bond would form. I could already feel a small one forming, if it remained this small it would be gone before next Monday. I was worried about our powers forming a perfect knot, one that was impossible to break. The harder I pulled for my magic, the more resistance I felt, then I realized that Katrina was trying to lock my power in with hers.
“Katrina, if you don’t want to be bonded to me forever, then put up a mental shield NOW.” I demanded, sighing with a relief when I felt my powers being expelled from her body.
“So?” She asked me her eyes racing with unanswered questions.
“Your partner is 100% A–Okay.” I reply to her earning a small smile, “We do have a teeny tiny bond, but should break within a day or two as long as we don’t come into close contact with each other, meaning for the rest of this week I’ll pair you up with Beckett.” Once again a smile lined her face. “As for your powers. You most definitely are the true mate to the Gods of the four kingdoms. You have all four elements as well as some angelic powers. I noticed one pure white angel wing, and I am almost certain there was another wing; but I couldn’t make out the image, it was extremely grainy and I felt like the image had been pushed to the very back of your mind.“
She nodded her head, a quiet gesture but I could tell something was up.
“Do you need time to discuss what happened?” I ask her trying to get to the bottom of this sudden mood swing.
“No, it’s fine.” She responded throwing her clothes back on, “Let’s just get back to class, I am sure Beckett and the other students are patiently waiting.”
