His father once said: “A man’s ideal in life is to marry a dignified and virtuous wife to manage the household, and keep a beautiful mistress to make you happy.”
“If you truly like her, just keep her as your mistress.”
He had thought Elma liked him more than Christmas itself, and that even if he proposed making her his unnamed mistress, she would happily agree. He never expected her to turn around and marry Nick.
Didn’t she like him? How could she just marry someone else like that!
Lewis angrily punched the wall, startling his assistant nearby.
“Young Master, what’s been wrong with you lately? Are you feeling unwell?”
Lewis suddenly snapped back to reality, realizing he had been daydreaming about Elma again.
No, he loved Janice. A fickle woman like Elma wasn’t worth his
affection at all.
Just then, the Jonson family’s housekeeper came to report that Janice had gone up the back mountain yesterday to pay respects to her mother and hadn’t returned all night.

Upon hearing this, Lewis immediately went up the mountain to search for Janice. He vaguely remembered there was a bamboo house on the back mountain–perhaps Janice had stayed too late paying respects and was resting in the bamboo house.
Following his memory, he found the bamboo house and had just approached when he heard ambiguous moaning sounds coming from inside.
Lewis stopped in his tracks and peered through the window crack of the bamboo house.
Inside, Janice was naked, entwined with a man.
The man’s hands roamed freely over her body. “Miss Jonson, it’s been quite a few days since you came. I thought you’d forgotten about me!”
Janice looked at him with seductive eyes, coquettishly complaining: “It’s all because you made me take that drug before, saying I’d experience double the pleasure, and it made me lose my senses.”
“Today is the last time we’ll meet. Once I marry into the Herty family, we can’t see each other anymore.”
The man rolled over, pinning her beneath him. “Then today I’ll have to properly savor the taste of the Herty family’s future CEO wife.”

Lewis recognized the man inside as someone who had once worked as a piano teacher at the Jonson house, and rage burned in his chest.
That shameless woman Janice, having an affair with someone, yet still wanting to marry into his Herty family and disgrace the Herly name.
He would never let her get away with this!
Lewis angrily turned and left. Upon returning home, he called his assistant and whispered a few instructions.
The next day, as soon as Janice returned home, she received an invitation from Lewis, saying he had a surprise for her tonight at a five–star hotel in the capital.
Thinking that today was her birthday, Janice assumed Lewis was going to such great lengths to celebrate for her.
That evening, Janice put on an expensive gown, wore diamond necklace and earrings, carried a designer bag, and even called a group of girlfriends to show off.
In the banquet hall, Janice blushed as she watched Lewis slowly walking toward her.
Lewis smiled. “Janice, happy birthday. I’ve prepared a generous gift for you.”

Janice’s eyes were full of anticipation. “Lewis, you didn’t need to spend so much. I’ll love whatever you give me.”
Lewis clapped his hands and had someone bring up a raggedly dressed man covered in bloody wounds.
Upon seeing Janice, the man immediately knelt and shouted: “Miss Jonson, save me, please save me…”
Seeing her lover, Janice panicked instantly but still tried to maintain her composure: “Lewis, what are you doing?”
Lewis’s gaze fell coldly on Janice: “You’ve been secretly having an affair with this scoundrel, shameless and without dignity, yet you dare to disgrace my Herty family’s reputation. What do you think I’m doing?”
Janice immediately shook her head with tears in her eyes: “Lewis, this must be a misunderstanding. I’ve been framed. I don’t even know him…”
Lewis glanced at the man: “Since Miss Jonson says she doesn’t know you, then you’re slandering my future wife. Drag him away and chop him up to feed the dogs!”
The man kneeling on the ground immediately shouted: “Miss, when I was your piano teacher at your house, you fell for me. You were the one who seduced me first. You have a blue circular birthmark on your buttocks and a small black mole on your left

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone’s eyes fell on Janice. One of her girlfriends said with a shocked expression: “Janice, how does he know about these things on your body…”
This statement essentially confirmed the man’s words.
Anything Janice said now would only make things worse. She and the man began pointing fingers at each other, revealing all her previous schemes against Elma.
When Mr. Jonson arrived after hearing the news, he wanted nothing more than to take a knife and kill this pair of adulterers who had disgraced his family. Finally, persuaded by others, he sent the man to the police station and banished Janice to a suburban convent to become a nun, never to return to the Jonson family again.
