Chapter 1
The very first thing Elizabeth Stenson did upon her rebirth was tear up her marriage contract.
“Have you lost your mind?” Her father, Viktor Stenson, slammed his hand on the table, his voice thunderous.
‘Our ancestors arranged the engagement between the Renard and Stenson families. You want to break it off?”
Elizabeth knelt in the center of the living room, her back straight as a rod, eyes firm.
In her previous life, she’d obediently married her childhood sweetheart, Kaiden Renard, only to be neglected by him for ten long years.
In the end, when an earthquake struck, a falling beam crushed her back. Warm blood trickled down her lashes. Yet Kaiden had rushed out of the villa, holding Natasha Stenson in his arms, never once looking back.
“Father.” Elizabeth lifted her gaze, her eyes icy cold. “Kaiden loves someone else. If I marry him, I’d only be disgracing myself.”
“Nonsense!” Her stepmother, Dorothy Parnell, suddenly interjected, her manicured nails painted a bold crimson–nearly poking Elizabeth in the
face.
“Mr. Renard has treated you so well all these years! Even when you just had a mild fever, he dropped everything overseas and rushed home to see you. What girl wouldn’t envy that kind of devotion?”
“Yes, he did come back,” Elizabeth replied, her lips curling into a frosty

smile.
“He stayed outside my hospital room all night–and spent the entire time video–calling his beloved, showering her with tender words and concern…”
She said nothing more. Instead, she raised her hand and threw a stack of photographs onto the floor.
They scattered, just like her shattered heart.
And each photo was a glaring piece of evidence.
Kaiden, arms wrapped intimately around Natasha’s waist, kissing her on a foreign street as if no one else existed;
Kaiden gently wiped ice cream from the corner of Natasha’s mouth.
Kaiden, smiling softly, eyes fixed on Natasha as she spoke…
The most recent photo was taken just three days ago.
In the picture, Kaiden was carefully fastening a bracelet around Natasha’s slender wrist. The style matched exactly the one Elizabeth was wearing on her own wrist at that very moment.
Elizabeth lowered her gaze. In her past life, she’d treasured that bracelet, never taking it off–only to learn from Natasha’s boasting that it was nothing but a cheap imitation.
The real custom–made bracelet had been given to Natasha long ago.
Such a cruel irony, just like Elizabeth’s foolish devotion in her previous life–cheap and laughable.
Just then, Kaiden strode in, clearly having rushed over, a sheen of sweat

still glistening on his brow.
The first thing he saw was Elizabeth kneeling on the floor.
“Eliza, are you misunderstanding something?” Kaiden hurried to help her up, his voice tinged with panic and concern.
“Those photos are just misleading angles! Tasha and I are innocent. We grew up together–you know how I feel about you…”
“How do you feel?” Elizabeth looked up at him, her mocking smile deepening. “Is this how you show it–by giving me a worthless fake?”
Kaiden was stung by her words and her gaze, his breath catching. He tried to explain, desperate. “Eliza, listen to me, that bracelet is-”
Kai.”
A soft voice interrupted, cutting Kaiden off.

Everyone turned toward the entrance of the living room.
At some point, Natasha had arrived, her face pale, one hand clutching her abdomen, her brows furrowed in pain.
“Tasha.” Kaiden’s attention was instantly consumed. He all but abandoned Elizabeth, rushing to steady Natasha’s faltering body.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick? Why do you look so pale?”
Natasha leaned weakly into Kaiden’s arms, lifting tear–filled eyes.
“Kai, my stomach hurts so much…”
At that moment, Elizabeth was forgotten. Kaiden could only think that Natasha might be having pregnancy complications.

“Don’t be afraid, Tasha, I’m here.” Kaiden, flustered, scooped Natasha into his arms, more careful than he’d ever been.
“I’ll take you to the hospital right away. Don’t say anything, save your strength.”
He kept murmuring gentle words, “It’s alright, don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
He didn’t spare a single glance for Elizabeth, whose eyes grew colder by the second.
Slowly, she stood up; her knees were numb from kneeling so long, but her back remained perfectly straight.
This was the man she’d loved all her life, the one she had waited half her life for.
“Father,” she said calmly, “I’m calling off this marriage. If you think the Renard family is such a perfect match…….
“Why not let your own daughter Natasha marry him instead?”
Viktor looked at Elizabeth—the daughter he’d watched grow up, always gentle and obedient. Now, her eyes held a determination he’d never seen before.
He knew the photos were real, and he’d seen Kaiden’s raw concern for Natasha…
But Eliza had been so infatuated with Kaiden, unwavering for 20 years.
Could she really let go so easily? Was this just a rash decision made in shock?
He couldn’t let his daughter make a choice she’d regret for the rest of her
