Then without lingering, he took Sophie by the hand and turned to leave in full view of everyone.
The gazes from everyone in the room held sympathy and pity.
Emma, who’d stayed silent until now, finally rushed out.
Lily realized what she meant to do and hurried after her, catching the siblings‘ argument in the garage.
“Lily’s my best friend! Why humiliate her publicly? She’s loved you for years–can’t you show mercy for her sincerity?”

After graduation, Emma once shared, Lily joined the design department just to see Victor daily.
