Briar was speechless. She pointed at her head. “You all praise how smart I am, so is it really surprising I figured out Tristan returned?”

Briar rolled her eyes in exasperation. She didn’t need Hamish to remind her.
Tristan probably chose to return to Dasmieca at this time for the same reason. Regardless, the fact that he was her master could not be changed or erased by anyone.

A cold glint flashed in Briar’s eyes. But she didn’t care about the title “Little Miracle Doctor” at all.

Ever since Ashton found out she was an instructor at the DDC Vanguard Mercenary Special Operations Base, she had stopped using special ointment to smooth the calluses on her palms and fingertips.
As a result, her hands were not smooth and soft like those of a typical girl. They were covered in calluses.
Ashton covered her hand with his, enclosing it completely. “My love, so what if you lost Tristan? You still have us. Aren’t the three of us combined stronger than Tristan?”

Hearty laughter immediately filled the private room.
“You came back? Just like that? You ran back here?” In the study of the Swift family villa, Joshua stared at his old friend, who was just as travel–worn and silver–haired as he was.
“We haven’t seen each other for almost twenty years, and that’s the first thing you say to me?” Tristan tossed his bag onto the floor and plopped down into a seat.
Joshua was not as optimistic as Tristan. “Wipe that smirk off your face. You’re on the wanted list for both Briar and Ashton.”
Tristan shrugged. “So what? I taught her myself, so I know her temperament. Relax, she wouldn’t dare actually kill me.”
Joshua frowned, his heart pounding. “You shouldn’t get too comfortable. Your apprentice isn’t on good terms with me or Marvin anymore.”
And they hadn’t even been that closely involved in the events surrounding her mother’s death. She had already kicked the two of them out of her “good people” category.
If Briar knew the culprit who drained her mother into a husk had returned to Dasmieca, how would she react?
Anyone who discovered the truth wouldn’t forgive Tristan. And Briar was not the type to be kind or softhearted in the first place.
These past few days, the commotion she and Ashton had stirred up in Shoneport was significant.
But Tristan still didn’t seem to care. He waved his hand dismissively. “Enough about me. Back then, among the five of us, you and Marvin were living the most carefree lives. Why don’t you call Marvin and get him over here? The three of us can have a little reunion.”
Joshua ignored his suggestion. “If we’re talking about the one who’s really living the good life, that would be Griffin, wouldn’t it? Look at the Wade family…”

“She’s my own apprentice. Can’t I see her whenever I want? Why would I need your introduction?” Tristan said with a confident look.
Joshua went silent.
Apparently, this old fellow hadn’t listened to a single word of what he’d said about the capabilities of Briar and Ashton.
Joshua thought, ‘See her just like that? I’d like to see if she’ll actually meet you. More likely, you’ll end up being chased all over Shoneport by her.’
Thinking of that scene, Joshua’s anger at Tristan for showing up unannounced dissipated.
