Chapter 335i j
Honestly, ever since Briar came back to the country, her temper had been ridiculously good.
She actually let those shameless idiots dance on her head for this long without immediately crushing thein.
“Alright, we’re done.” lan stuffed the USB drive into his pocket and waved at Brandon. “Let’s go.”
For a job that earned him no thanks, Ian sure was doing it with enthusiasm.
Brandon gave the security guard a few more “instructions” before leaving with lan.
The security guard exhaled a long, shaky breath as he watched the two men walk away. “Phew! That was close. For a second, I thought Brandon was going to cripple me tonight.”
After all, there had been a shooting incident in the community tonight. Even though the surveillance cameras hadn’t caught the gunfight clearly, the sound of gunfire alone had been enough to scare him half to death.
Thankfully, Ashton’s men had appeared just in time at the security booth to stop him from calling the police.
Otherwise, judging by Brandon’s words earlier, someone definitely would have come after him for revenge.
He was just a small–time security guard. There was no way he could afford to cross these rich and powerful people.
Speaking of which, the other residents were so composed. They didn’t even come out to look, despite the constant gunshots.
As expected, the wealthy did cherish their lives.
When they reached the wide–open front door of the villa, Ian stood on tiptoe to peek toward an upstairs room. “Briar and the boss are asleep already?”
Brandon nodded. “It’s late. Mr. Wade and Mrs. Wade are probably in bed by now. Let’s clean up the entrance
first.”
Ian said, “Alright.”
A worker’s life was tough. If he had known that Ashton’s 16–million–dollar offer involved so much manual labor, he wouldn’t have accepted it so quickly.
This was exhausting.
Ian and Brandon squatted to wipe up the bloodstains. He wondered if those two women, Emily and Beatrice, had intentionally left a trail of blood all the way when they moved the bodies.
The longer it sat, the harder it was to clean and the stronger the smell became. It was pretty annoying.

Ian grumbled under his breath as he worked. It took them over an hour of scrubbing before they finally had the courtyard spotless, by which time the sun had already come up.
Early–rising housekeepers from the neighborhood were heading out to buy fresh groceries. They saw the villa door and sped up their cars, flooring the accelerator.
Ian’s temper flared again. “Brandon, did you see that? What do they mean by that?”
“Enough. After working all night, aren’t you tired? You still have the energy to complain?” Brandon quickly pulled the irate lan back, shaking his head helplessly.
Ian said, “I was just furious.”
Just then, a Rolls–Royce pulled up in front of them and stopped. Frank’s head popped out of the passenger window. “Morning, you two. Haven’t had breakfast yet, right? We brought some. Come eat.”
Connor and Frank got out of the car, and Connor carried two big boxes of breakfast from the trunk.
The boxes were filled with fresh, high–end food packed from a five–star hotel.
“Come on, don’t be mad. Eat first. And take some back for your sister. The girl will be up for school soon,” Brandon said, dragging Ian inside.
Ian nodded happily. “Alright. Don’t mind if I do.”
The four of them sat at the dining table, chatting as they ate. Brandon did most of the talking.
Brandon briefly told Connor and Frank everything that happened here last night. Connor took it relatively
well.
Frank was so angry that he started cursing, “Seriously, just how stupid is that woman? She actually dared to hire mercenaries to kill Ashton and his wife last night? Does she have a death wish?”
Connor fed him a sip of milk to calm him down. “Alright, enough. It’s not the first time she’s been stupid. Why waste your breath on her?”
Frank huffed. “The Wade family has too many idiots like Emily, which is why people can take advantage of
- us.
Ian nodded in agreement. “That’s right. The Wade family may be large and successful, but there aren’t many smart people in it.”
Brandon looked helplessly at Ian, who was fanning the flames. “Hey, lan. Stop riling Frank up. If you keep this up, he’ll charge back to the Wade family estate and start beating people up.”
Ian spread his hands. “Fighting is exactly what some people deserve. Every last bite of food, every luxury they’ve enjoyed all these years. Where did it come from? Mr. Wade’s hands. And now they want to flip the table? Where’s their conscience?”
“Their conscience got eaten by a dog,” Frank growled.

Chapter 335
Brandon and Connor exchanged a look. One was Ashton’s devoted fan, and the other was his wife’s loyal follower. Now that the Wade family had offended both of them, it was no surprise they were furious.
Brandon tried to smooth things over. “Alright, alright. Mr. Wade and Mrs. Wade have their own plans. They’re not just going to let this go. You two can stop working yourselves up.”
He continued, “lan, these are your sister’s favorites, right? It’s getting late. Pack them up and take them home to her.”
It was better to send Ian away quickly. Otherwise, once they were full, if the two of them sat together again, their insults would surely get much worse.
lan doted on his little sister, and since these really were her favorite dishes, he reluctantly agreed and left.
Frank watched him go with longing. “Why won’t you let us vent a little? What’s wrong with letting us curse people out for a bit?”
Connor ruffled Frank’s hair. “With your temper, do you think just venting would be enough? Once you get worked up, you’re liable to grab a weapon.”
Frank pouted. “After being bullied like that, we can’t just let it go, can we?”
Brandon and Connor both twitched their lips.
Brandon thought to himself. Ashton and Briar may have looked like the ones being bullied last night, but in truth, it was everyone else who suffered.
The bodyguards who were called were scared off. The hired mercenaries were killed instead.
As for Emily and Beatrice, being forced to carry corpses like that would probably give them nightmares for weeks.
So, Ashton and Briar hadn’t suffered a single loss. In fact, they were probably still sleeping peacefully.
The only ones losing sleep were the people who had come to make trouble for them.

“Those two idiots. They couldn’t even handle something this simple. It was such a perfect opportunity. Wasted!” In the presidential suite of a luxury hotel, an elderly man with graying hair smashed his cup to the ground after hearing his subordinate’s report.
No one in the room dared to breathe too loudly.
The air was tense and heavy, the old man’s breathing harsh and ragged, his expression growing darker and
darker.
Sensing the tense atmosphere filling the room, a boy curled up on the sofa, playing games with his headphones on. He sighed. He put down his phone, went over to soothe the old man, and said, “Grandpa, calm down. Watch your health. Isn’t it just a matter of killing Ashton and Briar? Don’t worry. I’ll kill them.
