Chapter 340
The little bomb in Ashton’s hand kept spinning lazily through the air as he tossed it, his movements slow and unhurried. His gaze swept over the chaotic crowd and finally landed on the two Wilson brothers, frozen stiff and too terrified to move. He nodded slightly at Briar.
Briar, who had been aiming at the bomb, suddenly turned her gun on Ryan. As he watched in terror, she gave him a menacing smile.
“Mr. Henry Wilson, if you keep cowering in your shell, I’ll blow your precious grandson’s head off!” Her words caused an uproar.
The people who had been scrambling around finally stood still. Because they finally realized that Ashton wasn’t after them but was targeting the Wilson family.
Some of the bolder ones even joined Ashton, shouting, “Mr. Henry Wilson, you’d better come out! Your grandson can barely stand anymore.”
“Yeah! The boy’s never seen a scene like this before! You need to calm things down yourself!”
“Exactly! Stop hiding, old man. Get out here!”
After repeated shouts and chants, Henry and Noah finally came out, supporting each other as they walked onto the deck.
Henry’s face was livid, whether from anger or fear was unclear. “Ashton, you are no longer the head of the Wade family. Don’t be so arrogant. This is the Wilson family’s yacht.”
Ashton stopped tossing the little bomb. He turned to Briar, eyes innocent, and said aggrievedly, “Babe, was I just threatened?”
Without a word, Briar fired. The bullet hit Ryan’s left ear, and a scream tore out as bright red blood spattered.
His shrill wail was so pitiful that both Henry and Noah felt as if knives were being twisted in their hearts. This devastated Henry.
Ryan was supposed to be the Wilson family’s carefully groomed heir. If he got crippled or ruined here tonight, they’d be forced to make Ted the next head of the family. Absolutely unacceptable.
“Ashton, let’s talk this out! Calm down, calm down!” Noah quickly tried to mediate with a forced smile.
But his smile was so forced it looked worse than a grimace.
“Talk things out? Using what? Those ten mercenaries you stationed on shore? Or the dozens of armed bodyguards on this boat?” Briar sneered.
Ashton smiled dismissively. “Darling, don’t be surprised. This is just how the Shoneport aristocratic circle works. They lie with their eyes open. You’ll get used to it. Don’t take it too seriously.”
Someone in the crowd snickered, and soon everyone else was laughing.

Henry’s face flushed red with shame and anger.
Everyone invited to the yacht was a partner of the Wilson family. Regardless of how sincere these partnerships were, Henry believed they were all in the same boat.
However, Henry didn’t expect Ashton to have such a strong influence on these people. They all sided with Ashton.
This made the Wilson family look like the bullies here.
Henry’s sharp, icy gaze swept over the faces of those laughing, enough to shut a few of them up.
“Ashton, don’t be so arrogant. You used to have the right to be arrogant, but now, your position in Shoneport is uncertain…”
Before he could finish, two more shots rang out.
This time, Briar shot Ryan’s left arm, leaving bleeding holes in both his upper and forearm.
“I’m protective of my own, and I don’t like being threatened.” Briar blew on the muzzle of the gun.
As everyone watched in terror, she said slowly, “Old man, you’ve crossed the line twice. Watch what you say, or you might get your grandson killed.”
That breathtaking display of protective–wife dominance made Ashton almost burst with pride. He tilted his chin arrogantly. “See that? I could be arrogant and domineering before, and I still can now.”
Henry was so enraged by this unpredictable pair that he felt he might just drop dead. “You… you… What exactly do you want?”
Briar asked in confusion, “You should be asking yourselves that question. You invited us here. I’d also like to know what you invited us for.”
Noah wanted nothing more than to go back in time a few hours and stop Ryan from forcing Ted to call Frank and “invite” him to this yacht party.
This wasn’t them cornering Ashton and Briar. This was clearly Ashton and Briar coming to their boat to make trouble.
They hadn’t invited two reckless youngsters. These two were powerful figures who were easy to invite but hard to get rid of.
“Mr. Wade, Mrs. Wade, you’re just too easygoing. Even with guns to your heads, you’re still reasoning with them.” Connor led Frank forward, deliberately positioning himself to block the line of fire from the second deck snipers.
Noah thought, ‘Are you even listening to yourself? Are Ashton and Briar actually trying to reason with us? Who holds guns and tosses bombs while they ‘reason‘ with others?‘
“No choice. We’re good people,” Ashton said, nodding solemnly. “We hate fighting and killing. Reason should walk the world, right?”

Ryan passed out from the pain, then woke up again, weakly sobbing, “Grandpa… save me…”

Seeing his grandson covered in blood, Henry had to compromise. “Ashton, the Wilson family was reckless today. Tomorrow, I’ll have my eldest grandson bring a gift and apologize in person. How about it?”
“Your younger grandson made the mess, and you want your elder grandson to apologize?” Briar clicked her tongue. “Such blatant favoritism… Careful, old man. You’ll face consequences.”
Henry stammered, “…You…you bite…”
“Hey, watch your words. My wife has a fiery temper and a short fuse.” Ashton kindly reminded him.
The others were stunned.
Ted’s initial sadness suddenly vanished.
“Ashton, how about we let Ryan go stop his bleeding first? We can sit down and talk afterward,” Noah said, afraid his younger son would bleed to death.
Ashton glanced at Ryan’s deathly appearance and gestured toward Ted with his chin. “You’ve been studying medicine for this long. Can you remove a bullet and stop the bleeding?”
Ted glanced at Henry, then at Ryan, whose face was also pale. He nodded. “I know a little.”
Ashton said, “Then do it here. Don’t move him.”
So, Ted laid Ryan down and started dressing his wound to stop the bleeding. Fortunately, the yacht was well- equipped and had a first–aid kit.
