Chapter 357
Chapter 357
Ian never thought Ashton would be so heartless as to not leave him even the slightest chance to act.
With so many opportunities available, he could only stand by and do nothing. It was pure torture!

However, Ashton paid no more attention to lan, focusing entirely on serving Briar. “Honey, how about another shrimp?”
“Okay.” Briar nodded. For the simple meal tonight, Gideon had ordered everything according to her preferences; every dish was one of her favorites.
Briar guessed Ashton had spoken to Gideon.
“Ashton?” Ian called out again, refusing to give up. But Ashton didn’t even look up, making it clear the matter was not up for discussion.
Kameron and Louie, who were enjoying the show from the sidelines, nearly died laughing.
“It’s rare to see Ian so frustrated,” said Kameron, laughing.
“He’s furious but doesn’t dare to say anything. It’s only because he can’t beat Ashton. Just try it with someone else,” said Louie.
If it were anyone else, he would have flipped the table and started a fight long ago.
Ian looked miserable. “Kameron, Louie, it’s bad enough that you won’t help me, but must you make sarcastic comments from the side?”
He knew Ashton was deliberately messing with him.
It was his own fault for acting quickly and killing someone when he and Brandon snuck out of the country for a mission.
That was right. While Briar was busy dealing with certain people in the country, Ashton had sent Brandon and Ian to sneak abroad and seize all the goods that others had smuggled out.
Brandon and Ian raided over a dozen warehouses and stole goods worth tens of millions.
All those goods had been secretly transported to the 121 Overseas Mercenary Organization.
They were waiting for Ashton to present the goods to Briar as a Valentine’s Day gift on February 14.
Briar could not know about that yet, so Ian had to bottle up his frustration.
He could not even find a reason to protest.
After a full meal, their plan for murder and robbery was essentially finalized.
The private room door opened again, and Gideon and Thiago walked, smiling.

As soon as they entered, Thiago asked, “Are you done talking?”
He looked ready to pull Gideon back out for a walk if they said they were not done talking.

“We’re done. Mr. McInnes, Mr. Wade, please come and sit.” Fearing the two important men would leave them. alone again, lan quickly chuckled and invited them to sit down.
Thiago glanced at Ashton and Briar. Their expressions weren’t hostile, so he figured they must have worked things out.
“Ashton, since you two have your own ideas, I and…” said Thiago.
Thiago turned to look at Gideon, who gave him an affirmative nod. He continued, “In that case, we won’t ask any further. Whatever you decide, you don’t have to report back to us.”
Gideon nodded in agreement. “That’s right. You’re young, full of energy, and prone to acting on impulse. It’s perfectly normal to feel angry and need to let off some steam.”
With their words, Thiago and Gideon were all but saying, “Go ahead and do what you need to do. We’ll be here to back you up no matter what happens.”
Ashton smiled. “Don’t worry. We know what we’re doing. We won’t let you down.”
Everything that needed to be said had been said.
It was already past nine in the evening. The city lights twinkled outside the window. It was time to go home.
“Goodbye, Mr. McInnes. Goodbye, Thiago,” Briar stood by the car, obediently saying goodbye to both of them.
“Okay, goodbye. Take good care of yourself.”
“You all stay safe, too.”
After they exchanged goodbyes, the car carrying Thiago and Gideon drove onto the busy road across from them.
The security guards at the hotel entrance watched the car drive away. Then, one of them approached nervously. “Mr. Wade, your car is over there. I’ll take you to it.”
Ashton didn’t say a word, merely glancing at the guard indifferently.
A smile flickered across the faces of both Kameron and Louie. They folded their arms, stepped to the side, and watched to see what would happen.
Even Briar ignored the guard and slowly moved to stand with Ashton.
Brandon immediately stepped forward to block the guard’s line of sight. His eyes were filled with caution, but his tone was polite enough. “That won’t be necessary. We’ll go on our own. You can get back to your work.”
The guard nodded sheepishly. “O…Okay.”

Then, he turned sharply to leave, as if he had only come to guide Ashton and his group.
However, a second later, the guard suddenly pulled a pistol from his waist, about to aim it at Briar…
The guard was fast, but Brandon and lan were faster.
50%
The moment the guard aimed his gun at Briar, Ian pressed the muzzle of his pistol to the guard’s temple. “If you wanted to die, you should have picked a better time. You dare to play with guns before lan?”
Brandon stepped forward, seized the gun from the guard’s hand, dismantled it, and quickly removed the bullets.
The guard’s face instantly turned pale. He tried to beg for mercy, but Ian dislocated his jaw as soon as he opened his mouth.
“Don’t rush to beg for mercy,” Ian snapped. “You’ll get plenty of chances to talk once we have you.”
They had only driven one car there, so after capturing the guard, Brandon and Ian arranged for another vehicle and escorted the guard to a small, dark room in a villa near Ashton’s.
Kameron and Louie followed Ashton and Briar back to Moonspring Estate.
On the way back to Moonspring Estate, Kameron and Louie were like curious children, constantly trying to get close to Ashton.
Briar’s mouth twitched uncontrollably.
The occasional twitch at the corner of Ashton’s eye revealed that he was struggling to suppress his temper.
Afraid that Ashton would get angry and kick them out of the car, Briar took the opportunity at a red light to interrupt, “Kameron, Louie, why are you so interested in Ashton?”
As she spoke, she turned back and frantically shot them a look, urging them to back off and not go too far.
Kameron and Louie replied, “Just curious. Briar, you know that Ashton is considered an untouchable red alert at DDC Vanguard Mercenary Special Operations Base.”
They didn’t know why before, assuming it was because Ashton’s personal skills and wealth were so immense that not even the people at DDC Vanguard Base dared to provoke him.
However, it wasn’t until they received a high–paying offer from Gideon that they realized their DDC Vanguard Base wasn’t afraid of Ashton at all. They were clearly wary of his father!
Ashton was a world–renowned tycoon and the leader of the 121 Overseas Mercenary Organization, and his father was the current leader of Dasmieca. Any organization would keep its distance from someone like Ashton.
Provoking someone like him meant endless trouble.
Briar asked, “How did I not know Ashton was on DDC Vanguard Base’s red alert list?”

Louie waved his hand, saying, “It was just released this month. Briar, your man is at the top of the red alert list and is an influential figure who must not be provoked under any circumstances.”
