Chapter 360
Tristan was filled with regret.
He should not have come back.
If he had known that person had tricked him into coming back to be their shield against Briar, he would never have returned to Dasmieca.
For years, he lied to Briar, claiming he was hiding from pursuers in Dasmieca. Out of filial piety, Briar hid him on an uninhabited island where his life of wealth and leisure completely eroded his ambition.
Now, Tristan found it difficult to resort to his former ruthless and vicious methods.
He had been comfortable for too long, and his heart had softened.
He became kinder and could no longer bring himself to be ruthless.
However, that person was forcing Tristan to kill Briar, even though he knew Tristan feared Briar would discover his whereabouts.
They were getting rid of Tristan after he had served his
purpose.
‘Do they think I can not see through their selfish plan? thought Tristan.
They figured that since the lab was being watched and could not be saved, they would eliminate everyone inside.
However, if those people wanted to use Tristan to do the dirty work, Tristan needed their cooperation.
Tristan could not guarantee Briar’s death, but he could guarantee at least that he could “die” and vanish without a trace.
At worst, he could get a new identity and start over.
Tristan could leave Dasmieca and become a guest of honor in any country with his experimental data and exceptional skills in traditional medicine.
Having lived in hiding for so many years, Tristan was confident he could do it again.
Marvin watched Tristan’s expression constantly change and shook his head. “Tristan, you should go and apologize to Briar if you trust me.”

Tristan stared at Marvin in disbelief. “Marvin, what are you saying? You want me to go and apologize to Briar? How is that any different from walking to my death?”
Marvin knew well how much Briar hated Tristan.
Briar likely would not show the slightest bit of mercy, even if Tristan played the tragic card and knelt before
her.

Especially after Briar killed the people who had murdered her mother.
Tristan had long been on Briar’s kill list.

Marvin said, “Briar won’t kill you if you apologize to her properly. Besides, you weren’t the real mastermind behind her mother’s death.”
Jiang scoffed, “You know far too little about Briar. She always gets her revenge. Whether I was the mastermind or not, I’m still one of her mother’s murderers, and she won’t spare me.”
“Go to sleep, honey. It’s getting late,” Ashton said, emerging from the bathroom holding Briar, who was wrapped only in a bath towel.
Briar said hoarsely, “You have the nerve to say that. You promised we’d take a shower together, but it ended up taking two hours.”
Ashton, satisfied, was particularly agreeable and readily admitted his mistake, “Yes. Yes. It’s all my fault. As punishment, let me lull you to sleep. Come here, and let me hold you.”
It had to be said that Briar could never resist Ashton, who was shameless.
After some token resistance, she let Ashton pull her into his arms, and sure enough, he lulled her to sleep.
Ashton also fell into a comfortable sleep, holding his soft, sweet–smelling wife in his arms.
On the other hand, Brandon and Ian had a busy night.
They spent the first half of the night interrogating the security guard and the second half making arrests. They were so busy that by the time everything was settled, it was already daylight.
“Well, another all–nighter. My life is so hard,” Ian complained. He grabbed a cushion, flopped onto the sofa, and was out cold in less than two seconds.
Brandon was silent.
Upon seeing how Ian fell asleep without any precautions, Brandon seriously suspected Ian’s instructor title at the DDC Vanguard Base had been bought.
Brandon shook his head, chose an armchair on the other side, and collapsed into it to sleep.
At 8:30 in the morning, Kameron and Louie couldn’t sit still any longer. They climbed over the wall into Ashton’s villa and brazenly made themselves breakfast in the kitchen on the first floor.
By the time Ashton and Briar woke up and came downstairs, Kameron and Louie had eaten their fill and were sitting on the sofa, chatting on the phone with their wives.
“Morning,” Kameron said with a smile and a wave when he saw Ashton and Briar appear.
In fact, it was already 10:30 in the morning.

Briar said, “Morning. Have you eaten? Should I ask Ashton to have some food sent in?”
“No, thanks,” Louie declined. “We had breakfast two hours ago, so we’re not hungry yet. We can cat out with you when you leave.”
Briar nodded. “Okay.”
So, Ashton and Briar quickly got ready, listened to Brandon’s report over the phone, and decided to leave immediately to handle their business.
And, they get lunch at the same time.
Louie had always looked forward to trying Dasmiecan cuisine.
So, as they sat in a private room at a five–star hotel listening to Brandon and Ian’s report on the bloody interrogation from the previous night, Louie was the only one at the table eating with great relish.
“So you’re saying the people you took last night were planted by that same group to assassinate Ashton and Briar?” Kameron summarized Ian’s words incredulously.
Ian gave Kameron a thumbs–up. “That’s right, Kameron. It’s that simple.”
Kameron laughed. “Seriously, what were they thinking? Sending that guy last night who was disguised as security? Weren’t they afraid Ashton and Briar would kill him instead?”
“They’re on their last legs, but they still try to kick one last time.” Brandon had their psychology figured out.
Louie was completely conquered by the Dasmiecan cuisine, and he came with his words, “In that case, let’s not hold back. Briar, give us the word, and we’ll handle them for you.”
Briar chuckled. “Sure. Just don’t kill them on the spot. Help me round them all up, and then I’ll quietly ship them abroad…
“I hear a cannibal tribe in Africa is about to choose its sacrifices. We can send our guys over to round out the numbers.”
The African tribe Briar mentioned was a cannibal tribe located deep in the African rainforest. They still practice an annual sacrificial ritual of eating one person.
The sacrifices were chosen from within the tribe, or they might be explorers who have strayed into the rainforest and gotten lost.
Louie and Kameron shook their heads in unison. “When it comes to ruthlessness, no one beats you, Briar.”
If they were sent to that cannibal tribe, their lives would be over.
Briar smiled. “At least, it’s more humane than them draining people of their blood and turning them into mummies, right?”
If she hadn’t promised Ashton she wouldn’t go on a killing spree, she wouldn’t have bothered with the trouble.

Ashton added, “I can provide a drone transport service to guarantee a highly efficient delivery.
His words indicated he also agreed with what Briar was doing.
Louie and Kameron looked at each other. “You two are ruthless.”
