The woman had striking features, but her expression was lifeless. She stared blankly at the iron. bars.
“Number 2246!”
The officer raised his voice, and only then did Juliette Monroe look in his direction.
“Once you’re out, make sure to live well and stay on the right path,” he advised.
Such a beautiful woman, wasting three prime years of her youth in prison. It’s truly a pity.
Juliette nodded and walked toward the exit.
A black BMW was parked on the desolate
street.
“Juliette, get in!”
She lifted her gaze. It was her father!
“Dad…”
“Hmm. We’re here to take you home.”
A wave of emotion surged through her. So she still had a home. Her parents hadn’t abandoned her after all.
Three years ago, on this very day, was supposed to be her engagement banquet with Gavin Sinclair. Instead, it became the start of her nightmare.
Too many things went wrong that night.
It all began when she drank the glass of water her sister handed her. Soon after, her mind became hazy, and she went to lie down.
Then, a man entered her room. In her dazed state, she mistook him for her fiancé and him her most precious first time.

screaming that Juliette had cheated, Desperate, Juliette reached for her, begging for a chance to explain.
But suddenly, Vivienne’s nose, mouth, and cars bled as she cried out, pleading for Juliette not
to kill her.
Panicked, Juliette fled, begging Gavin to believe her.
What she received instead was her fiancé’s ruthless call to the police.
And under the raging thunderstorm, a merciless slap.
He called her shameless, accused her of harming her own sister, saying she deserved nothing less than death.
The slap left her ears ringing, and blood trickled down from her earlobe.
She burned with a high fever for ten days. When she finally woke up, doctors said her eardrum. was damaged. From then on, hearing clearly became a rare occurrence.
That storm took her hearing and shattered her pride, crushing it deep into the mud.
Once inside the car, Juliette saw her mother in the backseat as well.
“Mom, where is Vivien? I want to see her. Back then, it was actually Vivien…”
Before she could finish, a flash of resentment and blame crossed Sylvia Hart’s eyes.
“How dare you still bring up the past? I thought you had changed, but you’re still the same- rebellious and jealous of your own sister! Do you even realize that poison nearly cost Vivien her life? She’s sacrificed so much! She had to go abroad for two years of treatment, all alone. And you? All you did was rot in prison for three years, doing nothing! My biggest regret in life is having a daughter like you–shameless and a disgrace to the entire Monroe family! Thank goodness Vivien is capable. She’s been cleaning up your mess, and now, she and Gavin have finally gotten the happy ending they deserve!”
Juliette’s hands clenched slightly into fists.
She didn’t understand. She was only three years older than Vivienne, yet their mother was always so biased. Growing up, whenever they fought, she was always the one who got scolded.
“Enough. It’s a good thing you’re out, but stop causing trouble, Lucas Monroe glanced at his wife and daughter, then turned to Juliette. “You’re already twenty–six. I’ve arranged a good marriage for you the third son of the Donovan family. Marrying into the Donoval already beyond your reach, so you should be grateful.
