“This is a gift for you. Thank you for all your help recently.” Juliette said.
To be honest, this was the first gift I had ever bought with my own money.

“I need to report to Sphere Corporation tomorrow, so I’m heading back to my room for some rest. You should sleep early too.”
Giving a man a gift on her own initiative made Juliette a little embarrassed. She dashed off to her room in a hurry.

Just as she entered her room, her phone rang.
Seeing that it was Cassie calling, she quickly answered.
“Jules, did you give him the gift? Did your husband like it?”

“You two are actually quite a good match. Even though you started off just cohabiting, feelings. can develop over time. I really hope you two work out.” Cassie said expectantly.
“We’ll see about that later. Right now, I just want to focus on my work.” Juliette replied.
“Yeah, a career is the best. I saw you earlier today carrying a pink bag that looked just like a necktie gift bag. Was that for your husband too?”
Hearing that, Juliette’s gaze drifted to the “souvenir” from Nigori Adult Store she’d left to the side.
“Of course not. That one has weird stuff in it.”
But now that Cassie brought it up, Juliette got curious.
She wondered what kind of strange thing the store owner had given her.

The gift bags were identical, both pink.

Without another word, she ended the call and bolted out of her room.
The living room lights were already off, and the gift bag was nowhere to be seen.

At some point, the water had stopped running.

She was just about to leave when she bumped right into Max, who had stepped out in a white bathrobe.
“Uh… good evening.” Juliette said awkwardly with a nervous smile.
A droplet of water slid down from his Adam’s apple to his well–defined chest.
He wasn’t bulky, but he had the kind of lean, sculpted muscles that were just right in all the right places.
His long eyes trailed over Juliette’s lovely face and finally landed on the pink bag clutched tightly in her pale fingers.

Juliette’s face turned as red as a cooked shrimp.
“No! I was just going to keep them for decoration, okay?”
“I’ve never seen anyone use those as decor.” Max said with a raised eyebrow.

Then, he took the necktie box from her hands–and snatched the adult store items too.
“I’m confiscating these. Now that you’ve got a proper job, focus on work. Stop thinking about indecent stuff.
With that, he shut the door on her.
That night. Juliette was too embarrassed to sleep.
The next morning, by the time Max came out of his room, Juliette had already left for work.
