Catherine’s ashes were scattered into the sea by the Nguyen family.
The Nguyen storage room got renovated into a young girl’s bedroom.
Anna filled the closet with brand-new clothes-
outfits for every age, every size.
Catherine never wore decent clothes while alive, nor had a proper funeral after death.
Haunted by guilt, Anna’s remorse deepened until she fell ill two years after Catherine’s passing.
When she woke up the next day, her memory was completely muddled. Eyes vacant, she scanned the room while murmuring:
“Where’s Catherine? Why isn’t she home? Did she go to school? I’ll make Honey Glazed Chicken Wings for her.”
Nathan watched his wife, heart drowning in regret and sorrow.
Had they treated Catherine kindly since her return,
would this tragedy have been avoided?
But death leaves no second chances.
Remorse and anguish twisted inside Nathan until he couldn’t bear it.
On a midnight two and a half years after Catherine’s death, he jumped from the
upper
floor.
Mark only learned of his father’s death the next morning.
While preparing the body, he found a note in Nathan’s pocket:
[That push cost my beloved her life. I go to apologize to her.】
【Mark, care for your mother. I descend to hell to beg Catherine’s forgiveness!】

“Ahhh!” Mark roared in agony, collapsing to the floor in despairing wails.
I’m sorry…
I’m sorry…
Catherine, did you hate me before you died…
Three years after Catherine’s death,
Mark spotted a little girl outside the mansion-a new addition to the Ramirez family next door.
The child looked so endearing he crouched down, his gaze softening.
“How old are you? What’s your name?”
She was Susan Ramirez, still struggling to speak clearly, yet her voice sounded sweet as cotton candy.
Three years now,
Catherine should have been reborn by this time?
Then she must be three years old already…
Mark’s eyes reddened as he watched Susan toddling unsteadily home, her little brother glaring at him with wary eyes.
Mark chuckled, though his vision blurred inexplicably,
He had the chance,
He had the chance to become a good, loving brother,
But now it was too late…
Five years after Catherine’s death, Mark finally succumbed to severe depression.
Debilitating physical symptoms and chronic insomnia had conjured hallucinations-
He truly seemed to see Catherine standing nearby, watching him silently,
Then turning away.

“Catherine, don’t go!”
“Are you angry? Wait for me! Mom and I will come get you right away!”
Convinced he’d seen her because she felt lonely,
He immediately took an entire bottle of sleeping pills with Anna.
Catherine, wait for me. Your brother will protect you soon.
Not just me, but our parents too.
We’ll cherish you forever, just like the Ramirezes do with Susan…
As his vision dimmed, Mark reached toward the fading light, his face radiating contentment.
His hand gradually fell, warm smiles gracing his and Anna’s lips,
As if finally beholding the one they’d longed for day and night these past five years…
