Chapter 123
Chapter 123
Just as Stella had expected, the people from the bank and the court showed up.
Eleanor, with Stella and Mary’s help, walked out of the room.
Eleanor still had quite a bit of influence in high society. As soon as the people from the bank and the court saw her, they came over and explained the situation.
Eleanor said, “I understand. My granddaughter is here to pick me up, and I’ve already packed up all my things. You can proceed with the foreclosure whenever you’re ready.”
One said, “Thank you, Mrs. Eleanor Hayes. You’re so understanding. Do you have a car? If not, we can help arrange a ride for you.”
Eleanor replied, “Yes, my granddaughter has plenty of cars. There’s already one waiting for us outside.”
The people from the bank and the court nodded. They watched as Stella and Mary moved the stuff out, and the whole time, they were nothing but friendly.
The moment Stella, Eleanor, and Mary got into the car, they spotted Jordan.
Jordan had just stepped out to take a work call, but he was here now.
When he saw Eleanor, Jordan immediately put her at ease. He said, “Eleanor, please don’t worry. You and
Mary are more than welcome to stay at my place.
“My house has always been pretty quiet, and I don’t have any family left. I’d love to have you living with
me.”
Eleanor had been hesitant at first–she didn’t want to disturb the newlyweds or get in their way.
But Stella had already explained to Eleanor that if she lived alone, those people from the Hayes family
would bother her. Stella had declared that she had no problem taking care of Eleanor, but she would never
support those people.
Eleanor didn’t want to make things difficult for Stella, so in the end, she agreed to Stella’s plan.
They were just about to leave when they suddenly heard Fiona screaming from inside.
Fiona shouted, “Don’t touch me.”
The bank officer said, “Fiona, we’ve seen your situation, but today is the final deadline. If you can’t pay off the loan, I have no choice but to take your house according to the law.
“I explained everything to you before, and you agreed, but when I tried to call you, you didn’t answer.

“We’ve known each other for years, and you’ve helped me out a lot before, so I wanted to give you a little more time. But my boss is breathing down my neck, and I really can’t wait any longer..
“If you can’t leave on your own, then we’ll have to help you out. I hope you’ll cooperate with us.”
Fiona roared, “I’m not going anywhere. I can’t go anywhere like this. My daughter, my son, and my husband aren’t even home. You can’t just touch me. Be careful, or I’ll sue you for assault.”
The court official said, “Fiona, I’m right here and I can see everything. If he does anything inappropriate, he won’t get away with it. But if you refuse to cooperate, we’ll have no choice but to take legal action against
you.
“Looks like you don’t have anything valuable left. If you get sued, even your last bit of reputation will be gone. You know what you should do.”
Fiona refused to come out no dragged her out.
atter what, and the court official didn’t bother arguing with her–he just
Nothing in this house belonged to the Hayes family anymore.
The bank officer walked up to Fiona and said, ” sake, let me drop you off somewhere.”
where are you even planning to go now? For old times‘
Fiona shot him a death glare and snapped, “After everything I did for you, and now you turn your back on me like this? I must’ve been out of my mind to trust you.” She then spat on the officer.
The bank officer wiped his face with a tissue–he’d already given Fiona all the courtesy he could, and he wasn’t about to give her any more. He said, “Someone, get her out of here. Anywhere but here is fine.”
Someone came over and dragged Fiona out.
Fiona kept screaming and yelling, but it was no use. She ended up lying on the ground, but luckily, this was a villa–neighborhood, so no one outside could see her–otherwise, it would’ve been so humiliating.
The bank and court people had pretty much wrapped things up and were about to leave when Fiona finally gave in.
She said to the back officer, “William, I’m really sorry about earlier. I just lost my head for a moment. I really can’t do anything on my own right now. Could you please take me to my parents‘ place?”
William replied, “Sure, I’ll give you a ride.”
Together, they helped Fiona into William’s car.
Stella told Jordan, “Follow them.”
Jordan knew she just wanted to watch the show. No matter how important his work was, nothing mattered

more than making her happy. So, he started the car and followed after them.
When they arrived at the Clark residence, Stella–who hadn’t set foot here in years–couldn’t help but notice how the Clark family was living the good life now.
They were still out in the suburbs, but now they had not just one, but two three–story houses. For hundreds of miles around, the Clark family was the only one living in such fancy houses.
William still had work to do, so after dropping Fiona off, he drove away.
Fiona gripped the gate with both hands as tightly as she could and shouted inside, “Mom, Silas, I’m back— open the door for me.”
June and Silas hurried out. But when they saw Fiona looking like she was barely clinging to life, the two of
them froze and didn’t come any closer.
Even though June was already in her seventies, her skin was still remarkably well–maintained for her age. She shot Fiona a wary look and asked, “Why are you here? You came by yourself? Didn’t you bring anything
with you?”
Fiona replied, “I didn’t bring anything. I ran into some trouble at home. Mom, I was hoping I could crash here for a few days.”
Without even a second thought, June said, “Absolutely not. There’s no place for you in this house.”
Fiona said, “I don’t believe that. I’m the one who got these two houses built for you. I know exactly how many rooms there are in here–probably better than anyone else.
“I made sure to save a room for myself back then. Can’t I just crash here for a few nights?”
Even at her age, June still had a sharp eye–she immediately noticed Fiona was hurt. She asked, “What happened to you? Why do you look like that?”
Fiona said, “It’s nothing, just got into a car accident, that’s all.”
June was taken aback. She exclaimed, “You got into a car accident and you didn’t go to the hospital? What are you doing here–are you trying to die in our house? No way. Get out of here.”
Fiona said, “Mom, what are you even talking about? You wouldn’t be living like this if it weren’t for me. How could you just throw me out like this?”
June shot back, “Who else am I supposed to kick out if not you? Did I ever ask you to build such a huge house for me? Do you have any idea how much the utility bills are every month for a place this size?”
Fiona replied, “I’ve been the one paying those bills for you all this time.”
June said, “Anyway, whoever landed you in this mess, go find them–don’t bring your bad luck into this

house.”
Fiona stared at June in shock. She said, “Mom, whenever the family needed money, I was always the one sending it over. When my sister’s husband needed a job, I was the one who got it for him.
“When her son wanted to study abroad, I paid for everything. And when her son got married, I was the one who bought him a house and a car.”
