Emily was trembling all over, and Stella held her tightly, staring at her intently.
“Why are you shaking?” Stella asked.
Emily said, “I’m not shaking at all. It’s just cold outside and I didn’t wear enough clothes, that’s all.”

Hearing her rambling response, Stella sneered, “Don’t think I can’t see through you. Every time you see me, you get all flustered, like you’ve done something shady. Emily, why don’t you just admit it yourself?”
Emily’s eyes darted nervously. “What bad thing could I possibly do? Honestly, I do more than you ever have. I’m the one bringing food to Dad and Max every single day. What have you ever done?”
“If you’re so great, why do you still shake every time you see me? Do you think I’d buy that?” Stella shot back.
Emily tried to pull her hand away. “I already told you, it’s just the weather. I didn’t wear enough clothes, that’s all.”
“It’s summer. Are you seriously telling me it’s cold out?” Stella pressed.
“I’ve just had a cold lately, okay? Stella, are you out of your mind? What I do is my own business; it has nothing to do with you,” Emily snapped.
Stella stared Emily down, refusing to look away. Emily couldn’t even bring herself to meet her gaze. After what felt like forever, Stella let go of
her hand.
Emily, as if she’d just been granted a reprieve, bolted out of there. Stella couldn’t shake the feeling that Emily was hiding something from her.
Back in her office, Stella knew she needed to get some work done first. She’d only get a chance to crack Eleanor’s phone records when she
had a bit of free time.
Honestly, she could’ve just gone to the service center and asked for the records, but Stella worried someone might have tipped them off. She didn’t want to raise any suspicions, so she decided to sneak around and look for them herself.
Someone came to tell her that Anna was looking for her. Stella couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What does Anna want with me at this hour?‘
She stepped out of her office and made her way to the company entrance. By the time she got there, there was a crowd gathered at the
entrance.
The moment Anna saw Stella, she gripped her hand tightly and blurted out, “Grandma is dead. Did you know?”
“Yeah, I know. So you heard too?” Stella replied.
Anna said anxiously, “How could I not know about something like this? Stella, Eleanor loved you so much. Why do you look like you don’t
even care?”
Stella kept staring at Anna, Anna started to feel uneasy under Stella’s gaze. After a while, she asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“How did you find out?” Stella asked.
Anna’s expression changed. “How else would I know? The police called me. They said you didn’t notify our parents or Max, so they reached out to me instead. Why didn’t you tell us, Stella? And how exactly did Eleanor die?”
Everyone was staring at Stella, and it was clear they were all thinking the same thing as Anna. As if Eleanor’s death had something to do with Stella.

“You want to know how Eleanor died? So do 1,” Stella shot back. “Anna, didn’t Eleanor see you just a few hours before she passed away yesterday?”
“Of course she saw me. Jordan was there too. He was the one who took her to the hospital, and we met up there. So what are you getting at?“. Anna replied.
“Well, isn’t it a strange coincidence that Eleanor died right after seeing you?” Stella asked.
Anna stared at Stella in disbelief. “Stella, what are you even saying? Are you accusing me of having something to do with Eleanor’s death? Wasn’t Jordan the last one to see her alive? Why are you pointing fingers at me instead of him?”
Stella said, “Why would I suspect him? Eleanor transferred all her shares to me before she passed away. Everyone at Hayes Group knows about it. Neither I nor Jordan would ever do something like that to her.”
“But you…” Stella hesitated, her gaze sharp.
“Me? What are you trying to say?” Anna asked, eyes wide in disbelief.
“Eleanor always suspected you were involved in my kidnapping years ago. Who knows, maybe you killed her just to keep her quiet?” Stella accused.
Everyone was left shocked and speechless by Stella’s words. They thought, ‘Anna had always seemed so gentle and fragile. Sure, Eleanor hadn’t been as kind to her as Stella, but could she have gone so far as murder?‘ Instinctively, everyone took a step back.
Anna, clearly angry, said, “Stella, stop making up stories and trying to turn everyone against me. You know I’d never do something like that
“How is that impossible? I just saw Emily at the hospital, and she was all jumpy when she saw me. I don’t think you could’ve done it alone; someone must have helped you. Was it Emily?” Stella shot back.
“That’s nonsense. Stella, you had the biggest reason to want her dead!” Anna retorted, her voice rising. Anna kept hurling accusations at her.
Stella’s lips curled into a subtle, almost unnoticeable smile. “Honestly, it’s not that complicated. Whoever was on the last call in Eleanor’s
phone is probably the one involved. The fact that I can say this out loud means I’ve already got solid evidence.”
Anna’s expression changed. “Emily is your bestie, isn’t she? Why would she do something like that for you?” Anna demanded.
“Because she was never my bestie; she was yours. You were the one who planted her by my side. What were you after, Anna? Why don’t you go ahead and tell everyone the truth?” Stella shot back.
People were even more stunned now. After all, they were twins. If they stood side by side, one could barely tell them apart unless one looked
closely.
‘Who would’ve thought the younger sister would do something like this? What was she after? Was she trying to hurt Stella?‘ Everyone couldn’t help but wonder.
With that thought, everyone couldn’t help but recall the kidnapping Stella mentioned. ‘Could it be that Anna and Emily had been scheming together all this time?‘ they wondered.
One said people could not judge a book by its cover. Maybe the one who looked the most delicate and harmless, Anna, was the scariest one
here.
Realizing what Stella was up to and seeing everyone whispering about her, Anna snapped, “Stella, you’re trying to set me up!”
Stella smirked and said, “If you didn’t do anything, why are you freaking out?”

“You…” Anna stammered, completely lost for words.
Stella leaned close to Anna’s ear and whispered, “Anna, God sees everything. Even if we don’t know what you’ve done, God does. Sooner or later, you’ll pay for it.”
Anna stumbled, nearly losing her balance. Just then, Monroe rushed over and held Anna tightly in his arms.
“Anna, are you okay?” Monroe asked, his voice full of concern.
Anna’s face was ashen, and she couldn’t even bring herself to say she was fine. She just gazed at Monroe, looking so pitiful that it broke his
heart.
Monroe looked Stella straight in the eye. “She’s your own sister. What are you trying to do to her?”
“Why don’t you ask her what she’s done?” Stella retorted. Stella’s face was cold and aloof, giving off an air of superiority.
“What could she even do? When she heard Mrs. Hayes had died, she almost cried and barely pulled herself together to rush here. What the hell did you do to her?” Monroe demanded angrily.
Stella shot Anna a look of pure contempt. “You really are a great actress. I wonder how much longer you can keep up the act. If you’re devastated by Eleanor’s death, you know what you should do.”
She glanced at the security guards beside her. “Get them out of my sight. I don’t want to see a single one of them here.”
