When Stella saw Monroe, she shot him a cold glance and walked away as if he didn’t exist.
The cold look made Monroe uncomfortable. Monroe wanted to go over and ask why she was treating him like, but he gave up.

When Jack’s wife came back, she made it clear that she wasn’t divorcing Jack, and she would never let Fiona stay in their house.
With nowhere to go, Fiona had to come to Anna for help.
She said to Anna, “Whether you admit it or not, I’m your mother. I worked hard to bring you up and gave you everything I could. You can’t turn your back on me.”
Anna retorted, “Yeah, you’re my mother, but you promised me a dowry back then, so where is it? All you care about is the Clark family, never us, And you had an affair with another guy before you and Dad got divorced. You desperately let me down.”
Furious, Fiona said, “I let you down? Don’t you remember, Anna? When your father hit me, did you ever try to stop him?
“If you had stood up for me even once, I would’ve acknowledged you as my daughter, and I wouldn’t have done all those things to get back at your father. Have you forgotten everything I’ve been through with the Hayes family all these years?”
“It was just an excuse for what you did, Mom. You did something wrong. You need to take responsibility. Why can’t you get that?” Anna
retorted.
“I can’t get that? Do you get it, Anna? Just wait till you get married. You’ll know in this world, only your family will always have your back,” Fiona snapped.
“But did your family have your back?” Anna shot back.
Fiona’s face darkened.
“There’s no way you and Dad are going to get together again. He’s decided to file for divorce. It’s over between you two. Wherever you go from now on, it’s none of our business,” said Anna coldly.
“What?” Fiona stared at her, completely in shock.
“Anna, I’m your mother. Your dad abandoned me. Are you going to turn your back on me, too?” Fiona said desperately.
“Yeah, you say I matter to you, but do you really mean it?” Anna shot back.
“I was thinking once the company got back on track, I could get everything back for you. You’re my daughter, how could I not care about you?” Fiona insisted.
Anna shook her head, exhausted. “That’s enough, Mom. Nothing’s fixable. The house is gone, everything is gone. You’ve already lost our
trust. Just stop talking.”
Fiona’s face was ashen. She looked absolutely devastated.
“Mom, just wait. You’ll get a summons to appear in court,” Anna said indifferently.

“How can you be so mean to me?” Fiona demanded, her eyes fixed on Anna.
“You were the one who turned your back on us first. This goes to trial, and the judge won’t blame me,” said Anna calmly.
“But don’t forget, you still have a moral obligation to look after me,” Fiona said eagerly.
“I’ll tell the judge what happened,” Anna replied.
“You’re going to cut ties with me?” Fiona asked, her voice trembling.
“I’m sorry, Mom. This is where our relationship ends,” Anna said, her voice steady but cold.
With that, she turned to leave.
Fiona was already at rock bottom. She had nowhere to go and not a penny on her. All her accounts had been frozen.
Knowing Anna was her last hope, she reached out to grab her. But to her surprise, Anna fought back.
Anna slapped Fiona hard across the face.
“When will you have enough?” Anna snapped, her voice icy and full of anger.
Fiona was completely stunned. She couldn’t believe it. Her favorite daughter had just slapped her across the face. ‘How could this be?‘ she thought in disbelief.
But Anna had no regret over it. She shot Fiona a look of deep disgust and turned to leave.
Fiona was extremely pissed off. She thought, ‘I’ve been so nice to Anna all these years. I tried to give her everything I had. Is this how she repays me?‘
Fiona grabbed Anna’s hair and yanked her down.
Anna winced in pain, but she was not someone to mess with.
She spun around and grabbed Fiona’s hair right back.
What really caught Fiona off guard was that Anna was even stronger than her. Not only was Anna strong, but she even raised her hand and
struck Fiona across the face hard.
Fiona had never imagined Anna could be so cruel.
Fiona forgot to fight back. She stared at Anna, transfixed.
Anna, as if venting years of resentment, slapped Fiona again and again, with no regard for her dignity.
It took a long time for Fiona to snap out of her shock and try to fight back. But Anna shoved her to the ground mercilessly.
Right then, a car came out of nowhere. If the driver hadn’t swerved in time, Fiona would’ve been killed.
But the scariest part was that Anna didn’t even blink. She looked so cold and indifferent. It was so terrifying.
“You… How could you do this to me?” Fiona stammered, staring at Anna like she was looking at a stranger.
Anna dusted off her hands and straightened her clothes. “You just noticed it? Mom, you don’t know anything about me.”
“What do you mean?” asked Fiona tentatively.

With that, Anna turned and walked away, her chest out.
Fiona stood there for a long time, trying to convince herself. She thought, ‘No, that can’t be Anna. Maybe it’s Stella. Only Stella would do this
to me.
‘But… but I’m their mother. There was no way I mixed them up. I’m sure the person in front of me was Anna. Did I really know nothing about Anna?
That night after work, Stella was heading home when she saw Fiona pacing back and forth along the side of the road.
Fiona looked absolutely miserable, like nobody wanted her.
Stella had heard everything about Fiona from Jordan. She didn’t expect Anna to give up on her.
Stella thought to herself, ‘Life is full of surprises. Who would’ve thought a family that once looked so loving would end up like this? It’s
pathetic.”
Just then, Fiona suddenly stepped in front of a car. The car barely missed hitting her.
The driver slammed on the brakes and yelled, “Are you nuts? If you want to die, don’t drag us down with you.”
Fiona rushed over to the window and begged, “Please give me some money so I can buy something to eat. I haven’t eaten in days.”
The driver shot her a look, called her crazy, and sped off.
After that, Fiona used the same trick to ask many people for money, but not a single person gave her any.
When Fiona spotted Stella’s car, she tried to approach her, but Stella steered her car away, not giving her the chance to get close.
Stella thought, ‘Fiona got what she deserved.‘
