Chapter 9
Clara looked at Adrian expectantly.
“Take me to another hospital. I really can’t hold on much longer.”
Adrian looked at her and snorted coldly.
“You knew all this hospital’s doctors were gone, so you’re faking stomach pain just to trick me into taking you to a doctor, and then use that chance to escape?”
Adrian looked at Clara with disgust and kicked her hard to the ground.
SPLASH.
Liquid gushed between her legs.
Clara stared at the puddle beneath her in panic.
‘My water broke! Adrian, get me to another hospital-I’m about to give birth!”
Adrian saw her soaked dress, a flicker of panic in his eyes.
laughed at Clara’s pathetic state.
‘Aren’t you only five months along? Waters don’t break that early. You probably just pissed yourself and you’re pretending your water broke!”
Adrian’s face turned green.
‘Clara, have you no shame? Using piss to fake your water breaking-you really will do anything to get what you want!”
Clara crawled desperately toward Adrian, the entire hallway now filled with a fishy stench.
My water really broke! I’m carrying YOUR son-are you really going to let us die?”
Adrian stepped directly on Clara’s hand.
‘At this point, you think I’d still believe anything you say?”
Clara was completely desperate. She looked around at everyone, pleading with them almost pitifully.
‘Please, someone help me! Save my baby! I’m about to give birth!”
I watched her begging coldly.
Anyone who helps her today is going against Skyline Group.”
Clara’s outstretched hand froze mid-air, her eyes filling with hopeless terror.
I let out a light laugh.
‘Clara, does that line sound familiar? Remember when you said those exact words?”
Clara struggled to get up and crawled to me on her knees.
‘Please spare me! Adrian deceived me too! I’m also a victim! He said he was the real billionaire, that our child would be the heir-I was the one being lied to!”
Adrian rushed over and yanked Clara away.
You bitch! Are you trying to turn my wife against me?”
I was only with you to have a son. The person I love has always been, and will always be, MY WIFE.”
Adrian seemed to prove his loyalty, desperately trying to distance himself from Clara.
Seeing Adrian’s heartless betrayal, Clara struggled to stand up.
‘Adrian, you’re the most hypocritical one here! Stop acting devoted? If you really loved Selena, you never would have cheated. You’re only with her for the Sterling fortune.”
‘SHUT UP, you worthless bitch! What do you know?”
Adrian exploded with rage, Slamming his foot into Clara’s stomach.
Clara was sent sprawling to the ground, curled up in pain and unable to get back up.
‘Help me… my stomach hurts so bad.”
Dark red blood began flowing down Clara’s thighs. Adrian stood frozen in place.
‘Blood… so much blood.”
Just then, Theo approached respectfully.
‘Ms. Sterling, the doctor is ready in the operating room.”
