Chapter 25 Dr Becky
“Kevin, you crossed the line.”
Kevin felt a chill crawl down his spine and muttered under his breath, “You asked me…”
Xavier ignored him. “Is it wrong to love someone?”
Kevin had no idea what Xavier was thinking. Afraid to say the wrong thing, he shut his mouth completely.
“From now on, don’t say anything bad about Becky. Every time you do, I’ll dock your bonus.”
Kevin’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
Was the divorced ex-wife suddenly golden now?
All this talk about how it’s not wrong to love someone… Did Xavier want to spread his affection across all of Dracovia or what?
Of course, those thoughts stayed strictly in Kevin’s head. No way he’d dare say them out loud.
“You hear me?” Xavier’s voice was cold and firm.
Kevin stiffened. “Yes, sir.”
“Get out.”
“…Okay.”
As Kevin left, he warned himself never to say a bad word about Becky again—not unless he wanted to lose his job.
Meanwhile, Becky’s life stayed calm and peaceful.
Maybe those over-the-top emotional words had really worked, because Xavier started sending her money on every holiday.
Each time, it was 100,000.
Becky accepted it happily and always replied with a short: “Thanks!”
Sometimes, they even exchanged a few simple messages.
But Xavier never mentioned Westview Pavilion again, and he didn’t ask to meet.
One day, Becky was walking down the street when she ran into Jose.
To be exact, she was walking, and he saw her first-then slammed the brakes on his sports car right in front
of her.
By now, Becky’s baby bump was unmistakable.

face twisted from the pain.
“You’re pregnant?”
Becky replied, “I’m a woman. It’s normal.”
“That’s not what I meant! You’re divorced from Xavier-whose kid is that? Do you know I’ve been trying to find you? Why haven’t you replied to any of my messages? If you wanted to get married, why didn’t you even consider me?”
Jose looked genuinely hurt.
Back when Becky had liked Xavier, Jose accepted it. He knew he couldn’t win against that guy.
But when he heard they divorced, he was ecstatic.
He thought he had a chance again.
Only Becky never answered his texts or calls. And once she moved out of Westview Pavilion, he couldn’t find her at all.
Then today-just now-he spotted her on the street. Even pregnant, she hadn’t gained weight and still looked stunning.
Becky scratched her nose, a little awkward.
Yeah… she’d ignored Jose’s calls on purpose. She knew he wasn’t someone you could casually mess with- way too clingy, no matter how handsome he was.
“Jose, look, I’m in a rush for work. Let’s catch up another day.”
Jose grabbed her wrist, shocked. “You’re still working? Like this?”
He immediately looked heartbroken.
What kind of scumbag would let a pregnant woman work?
What an asshole!
Becky tried to explain, “It’s really easy. I just sit there.”
“No way! Where do you live? I’ll take you home.”
“Jose, don’t.”
“Okay, then I’ll drive you to work.”
“No need!”
“Then I’ll walk you.”

Jose ended up walking with Becky all the way to the clinic.
“Alright, we’re here. You can go now,” Becky said, trying to shoo him off.
Jose already knew Becky had studied medicine.
His dream girl had it all-finance major, licensed in medicine, and totally brilliant.
“Becky, so this is your workplace, huh? Not bad.”
Now he knew where to find her.
Becky ignored him and walked inside. She greeted the old doctor warmly, “Good morning, Mr. John!”
“Morning.” Mr. John glanced at the man trailing behind her.
“Heh, bringing your husband to work, huh?”
Becky rolled her eyes. “Mr. John, your eyesight must be getting worse. How could he be my husband? We don’t look anything alike!”
Jose felt like he’d just been stabbed in the chest.
He couldn’t help defending himself. “Becky, what do you mean we don’t look alike? We totally do!”
To prove his point, he leaned next to her and snapped a selfie.
Admiring the photo, he grinned. “You’re gorgeous, I’m handsome. We’re clearly a match!”
Mr. John realized he’d misunderstood and chuckled, wisely changing the subject.
“There’s a patient waiting in the consultation room. Better go see them.”
Becky had built up a good reputation over the past few months. Mr. John was overjoyed-by sheer luck, he’d landed a living billboard.
Becky ignored Jose and walked into the consultation room.
Inside was an elderly woman, pale and frail, with white lips and a waxy complexion. Standing beside her was a younger woman-probably her daughter or daughter-in-law.
As soon as she saw Becky, the younger woman stepped forward.
“Dr. Becky, we came here especially for you. Please take a look at my mother.”
Becky winced slightly.
She still wasn’t used to that nickname, Dr. Becky.
