Chapter 61 Wasn’t Surprised
Yulia blushed and nodded. “I really like Xavier. I’ve always liked him”
Lilian wasn’t surprised.
“In that case, are you willing to marry Xavier?”
“Lam!” Yulia answered eagerly.
Grace looked at her with satisfaction. Finally, she’s using her brain for once.
Lilian said, “Alright, if that’s how you feel, then let’s arrange for both families to have a meal and finalize the engagement.”
Grace burst out laughing. “Couldn’t agree more! Their wedding should’ve been on the calendar a long time ago.”
Lilian smiled faintly.
“After the wedding, I have one condition.”
Grace replied without hesitation, “Say whatever you want–Yulia won’t have a problem with it.”
“I want Yulia to stop showing her face in public after the marriage. I want her to be a full–time housewife and make sure Xavier has nothing to worry about.”
Grace answered immediately on Yulia’s behalf. “No problem. Yulia can absolutely do that. Her dream has always been to be a housewife, I’ve been raising her with that in mind since she was little.”
Yulia frowned slightly.
She had studied the cello from a young age and had worked hard to get to where she was; the idea of giving it all up made her reluctant.
Lilian noticed her hesitation and said, “The engagement hasn’t been finalized yet. If you’re unwilling, I won’t force you.”..
“I’m willing,” Yulia said.
The cello didn’t matter as much as Xavier did.
“For Xavier, I’m willing to give up anything.”
Lilian nodded in approval and left the Moore residence.
Grace was overjoyed and, for once, showered Yulia with praise.
Yulia was so wrapped up in the joy of marrying Xavier that she couldn’t snap out of it.
Lilian moved quickly and arranged everything in no time.
When Xavier walked into the private dining room and saw Yulia’s family, he furrowed his brow.
Before Lilian could say anything, Grace called out, “Xavier, come sit!”

She pointed to the chair beside Yulia.
Yulia looked at him with hopeful, bashful eyes.
But Xavier didn’t move toward her; instead, he sat in a chair by the door.
An awkward tension filled the air.
Yulia lowered her head, trying to hide her embarrassment.
“Xavier, sit next to Yulia,” Yvonne said.
Xavier shot her a look, and she instantly shut her mouth.
The room fell silent, the only sound coming from forks and dishes clinking.
Ten minutes passed.

Lilian set her fork down, cleared her throat, and said, “We brought everyone here today to announce Xavier and Yulia’s wedding date. It’ll be in November—”
“Wait a minute!”
Xavier cut her off.
Lilian said, “Xavier, you and Yulia have been together for years. We just thought it was time to go ahead and plan the wedding.”
“Who gave you the right to make that decision?”
Henry frowned. “As your parents, we have every right to decide your marriage.”
Xavier stood up. “Well, I don’t agree.”
He turned and walked out of the room without a trace of politeness.
Yulia’s eyes turned red; she felt humiliated and wronged.
Yvonne rushed over to comfort her. “Yulia, don’t be upset. My brother, he’s just acting weird today.”
Yulia broke down in tears.
Lilian and Henry, though fuming inside, managed to see the Moore family out.
Back at the Bolton residence, Lilian tried calling Xavier several times, but he didn’t answer.
Henry slammed his hand on the table in anger.
“No! We can’t just let him do whatever he wants!”
Yvonne chimed in, “That was way out of line. He just stormed off in front of everyone and left Yulia in tears. At this point, I’m not even sure he still likes her.”
Lilian looked up and shot her a glance.
Yvonne blinked. “What? Did I say something wrong?”

The next day, the Dracovia Daily headlines read: “Bolton family heir Xavier and Moore heiress Yulia are officially engaged.”
Everyone was stunned.
News of Xavier and Becky’s divorce had been deliberately suppressed; it was never made public, and only a few people knew about it.
Now this sudden engagement announcement stirred up a storm.
But soon, someone stepped forward to clarify that Xavier and Becky had been divorced for a while, barely two months into the marriage.
The source had been planted by the Bolton family.
Becky’s phone lit up with a series of calls from Sharon. When she finally picked up, Sharon exploded.
“Are you kidding me? The whole world’s going crazy and you’re just now answering your phone!”
Becky stretched, tossed the phone onto the table, put it on speaker, and got up to move around.
After sitting for two hours, her back and waist were sore.
“What does the world going crazy have to do with me?”
Sharon roared, “Your husband is getting married! And you’re this calm?”
Becky replied nonchalantly, “Correction, I don’t have a husband.”
“Xavier’s getting married. It’s official news. With Yulia.”
Becky froze.
But only for a second. Then she kept twisting her waist to stretch it out.
“It’s normal for them to get married. Xavier and I are divorced. He’s free to do what he wants.”
Sharon was speechless. What the heck is this?
“If you didn’t have James, I’d say you’re better off staying away from Xavier. But you gave birth to his child. I think you should get back together with him. Raising a kid alone is exhausting–why let him off the hook? And most importantly, he’s loaded. That fortune should belong to my godson. But if he remarries and has more kids, my godson’s out of the picture!”
