Chapter 15
Adrian’s eyes showed no emotional response: “Find someone to cremate the bodies,”
A few days later, Seraphina woke up to find Adrian sitting beside her bed.
Those cold eyes made her instantly speechless, her body trembling with fear.
Adrian’s bodyguard placed two urns on the table beside Seraphina’s bed.
Seeing where Seraphina was looking, he said coldly:
“These are your parents‘ ashes.”
Hearing they were her parents‘ ashes, Seraphina immediately got agitated: “Adrian, my parents were good to you! Why did you treat them like
this?!”
Seraphina tried to grab the urns but was stopped by the bodyguard.
The bodyguard roughly dragged Seraphina to the bathroom and dumped all the ashes down the drain in front of her.
“NO!”
Seraphina was held down by the bodyguard, could only look desperately at Adrian as she watched her parents‘ remains disappear completely.
Already recovering from serious illness, she couldn’t handle such trauma and passed out.
The assistant reported Seraphina’s condition to Adrian: “The doctor says Miss Vale was traumatized and may have mental problems.”
Adrian’s face darkened: “If her mental state’s bad, send her to a psychiatric hospital.”
“Don’t touch me! Don’t let them touch me!”
Seraphina screamed, not letting the nurses near her.
The nurses had people hold Seraphina down while they injected sedatives.
Seraphina tried to struggle, but her limbs were firmly pinned down.
“What did you give me?!”
Seraphina’s body quickly lost the ability to struggle due to the sedatives, could only helplessly watch as the nurses injected vial after vial into her body.
Just when Seraphina thought the torture might end temporarily, she heard the nurse say:
“Seraphina Vale, the doctor says your condition is too severe. You need electroshock therapy.”
Seraphina couldn’t control her body, couldn’t even speak,
The nurses wheeled the bed to the electroshock therapy room.
Seraphina on the bed looked at the nurses pleadingly.
The nurses ignored Seraphina, directly placing electrode pads one by one on her body.
The cold electrode pads made Seraphina shiver all over. Another nurse operated the machine nearby.
“Electroshock therapy begins now.”
Chapter 15
With the nurse’s words, electric current shot through various parts of Seraphina’s body.
“AHHHHH!”
Seraphina’s agonized screams echoed through the treatment room.
“No, I’m not sick! I don’t want treatment!”
Seraphina kept begging and repeating, but got no response–only wave after wave of electric current.
When the electrode pads were finally removed, Seraphina felt like she’d died once already.
Though the electric torture was over, the scars left by the current still throbbed with pain.
The nurses took Seraphina to another ward.
At the door, Seraphina could hear screaming and crashing from inside.
Seraphina glimpsed the sign on the door: HIGH–RISK WARD!
Seraphina began trembling with fear as she knelt on the ground, begging the nearby nurse:
“Please, I’ll cooperate with treatment. Don’t put me in there.”
But the nurse just opened the door and threw Seraphina inside.
The people inside looked at Seraphina like she was a new toy and immediately pounced on her.
Seraphina frantically pounded on the door for help, but was dragged to the back of the ward by those people.
The next day when nurses came to get Seraphina for treatment, she was curled up in bed:
“Stay away! Don’t touch me!”
“Please, don’t touch me!”
Seraphina, who’d always resisted treatment, looked at the nurses like they were salvation, grabbing their arms:
“I’ll cooperate with treatment! Please take me for treatment!”
Looking at Seraphina inside, Adrian outside the window handed a credit card to the director.
“Make sure Seraphina gets the special treatment she deserves.”
The director obsequiously took the card: “This is what we should do.”
