I returned to my former residence at Moonhaven Private Quarters after being discharged from the hospital, only to find my home sealed off.
Yellow tape stretched across the entrance. Official notices were posted on the door, declaring the property off–limits
My hands trembled as I read the eviction notice. Marcus had terminated my housing arrangement effective immediately.
I tried calling Isabella Blackwood, but her phone went straight to voicemail. My desperation grew with each unanswered call.
With nowhere else to turn, I drove to the Blackwood Ancestral Manor. I needed to see Oliver, to hold my son and find some comfort in this nightmare.
The manor gates opened for me as usual. I parked and hurried toward the main entrance, hope flickering in my chest.
Isabella appeared in the doorway, but her expression was cold as winter steel. Gone was the warmth she had once shown me.
“You have some nerve coming here, she said icily.
“Isabella, please. I need to see Oliver,” I pleaded. “He’s my son.”
“Your son?” Isabella’s voice dripped with disgust. The pup you’ve been abusing?”
My blood ran cold, “What are you talking about?”
“Marcus uncovered everything.” Isabella continued relentlessly. The scars on Oliver’s body. Your manipulation and lies.”
“You don’t understand-
“I understand perfectly, Isabella cut me off. “You tried to harm Elena. You’ve been deceiving us all.”
Her eyes blazed with righteous anger. “I defended you. I believed in you. And you made me look like a fool.”
“Isabella, please listen-”
“No more lies,” she said firmly. “I’m done with you, Sophia. We all are.”
Manor security appeared behind her, their presence making her message clear.
“Remove her from the property,” Isabella ordered. “She’s no longer welcome here.”
The guards moved toward me with professional efficiency. I backed away, my world crumbling around me.
“This isn’t over,” I whispered, but my words felt hollow even to myself.
As they escorted me to my car, I realized Marcus was determined to destroy me completely.

Standing outside the Blackwood Ancestral Manor, I watched Sophia’s departure from my study window. Her defeated posture should have brought satisfaction, but I felt only emptiness.
Amber Stone entered with a thick file. “The investigation is complete, Alpha.”
I turned from the window, steeling myself for what I was about to learn.
“She delayed the ambulance response when Elena’s father had his accident.”
My hands clenched into fists. Richard Blackthorne’s death wasn’t just negligence–it was murder.
“She wanted Elena isolated and vulnerable,” Amber explained. “Every tragedy in Elena’s life can be traced back
to Sophia’s interference”
The scope of her betrayal was breathtaking. I had protected my mate’s greatest enemy.
Seeing that I seemed to be immersed in painful thoughts, my assistant changed the subject in time.
“There’s a project in Riverside City that requires your attention.”
“Prepare my travel arrangements,” I decided suddenly. “I’m going to Riverside City.”
Three days later, I flew to Riverside City on my private plane with my company’s negotiation team.
En route, I reviewed Stellar Technologies‘ medical project files. The numbers blurred together as my thoughts
drifted to Elena.
Amber Stone approached with her tablet. “Nathan Sterling is also in Riverside City.”
I frowned, my jaw tightening. “Is he there to see Elena?”
“He’s meeting with someone from the Whitmore family,” she reported.
I pondered this information. The Sterling family and Whitmore family were traditionally close allies. The meeting wasn’t inherently suspicious.
However, Nathan’s presence alone was concerning enough.
Adrian Whitmore had also interfered in my affairs. He had secretly moved David Blackthorne from Shadowmere Medical Center, providing false information about the transfer destination.
Even the medical facility had been deceived about David’s actual location.
I caressed my mating ring, feeling an impatient desire to see Elena’s reaction to my presence. Even if that
reaction was hatred, I needed to see her face.
My plane landed smoothly at Riverside City International Airport. Two prominent local families had extended
Invitations for my visit.
The Fisher family, who were my mother’s distant relatives, and the Howell family of Waterflow Financial.
Waterflow Financial was a top–ten company in Riverside City and had invested heavily in Stellar
Technologies‘ medical project.
As a business partner, I accepted the Howell family’s invitation. They had booked the largest suite at the international hotel for a lavish reception.
The top floor offered stunning night views of the city. Beneath the dazzling chandelier, a round table was
filled with formally dressed businesspeople.
The table was laden with venison, fresh seafood, and various delicacies that showcased Riverside City’s
finest cuisine
I mingled through the crowd, my natural charisma drawing attention from potential business partners
The Howell family head approached me with obvious curiosity. “Are you in Riverside City alone? Why didn’t you bring a female companion?”
To them, someone of my status and wealth never lacked she wolves vying for attention
I raised my glass in a polite gesture, deflecting the personal question.
The Howell family head noticed my mating ring and was genuinely surprised. “You’re mated?”
“It’s been a few years,” I paused, then added with a subtle smile, “I haven’t made it public”
