(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
I walked directly to Marcus’s Shadow Archives where he was meeting with Amber Stone. The heavy wooden
doors stood slightly ajar, allowing me to hear their hushed conversation.
“Did you attack Nathan Sterling?” I demanded, pushing the doors open.
Marcus looked up from his desk, his golden eyes meeting mine without flinching. “I wanted to teach him a lesson for drugging you.”
“Your delayed revenge is useless,” I said angrily. “Nathan’s mother came looking for me instead.”
Amber stepped forward, her voice diplomatic. “Alpha Marcus was trying to make amends and defend you-
“I never asked to be defended,” I cut her off sharply. “If someone comes with a knife next time, I might be the
one hurt.”
Marcus’s jaw tightened. “I won’t let such things happen.”
I laughed bitterly. “Haven’t such incidents happened enough already?”
My words made his chest visibly tighten with something that looked like fear. He realized the Sterling family
didn’t know my true identity as Luna to the Shadow Moon Pack.

At Shadowmere Medical Center, Nathan’s angry voice echoed through the corridor. “How could yo
Elena?”
Victoria Sterling stood frozen in shock. Her son was actually yelling at her for “that she–wolf.”
Jonathan Sterling entered the room quickly. “Nathan, calm down.”
“Who told you about the incident?” Nathan demanded, his face flushed with rage.
Victoria’s voice trembled with indignation. “The Sterling family will never accept such a woman.”

Nathan’s expression turned cold. “Elena is Marcus Blackwood’s Luna. She’ll never enter the Sterling family
anyway.”
Both parents stared at him in stunned silence. The revelation hit them like a physical blow.
Just then, Amber Stone appeared in the doorway. “Your son wasn’t lying.”

The next day at the institute, Hugo called me to his office. The Sterling couple was waiting inside, their faces tense with discomfort.
Jonathan stepped forward with genuine remorse. “I sincerely apologize for my mate’s impulsive behavior. We didn’t understand the situation before causing trouble.”

Victoria’s teeth were gritted as she forced out the words. “I’m sorry.”
I accepted their apologies without false modesty. “Thank you for coming.”
After they left, I turned to Hugo gratefully. “Thank you for arranging this.”
“It wasn’t me,” he said quietly. “It was Marcus.”
Before I could respond, he asked, “Is Sophia Rivers Marcus’s former mate?”
I nodded, curious about his sudden interest. “Why do you ask?”
He didn’t elaborate, simply shaking his head.

Meanwhile, Sophia had visited the Ashworth family estate for the third time. She sat in the elegant waiting room, feeling the servants‘ stares and whispered gossip.
After twenty minutes of waiting, the butler returned. “I’m sorry, but the family is unavailable today.”
Sophia’s face flushed with humiliation as she left. She could feel their judgment following her out the door.
Upstairs, Evelyn Ashworth watched from behind the floor–to–ceiling window. Her elegant appearance was matched by a cold temperament that made servants nervous.
“Who is that she–wolf?” she asked a nearby servant.
“She’s been coming for three days, Madam. Claims to know the young master.”
Evelyn’s eyes narrowed. “Investigate her identity thoroughly.”

Nathan arrived at Sophia’s residence with fury burning in his eyes. When she opened the door, he immediately slapped her across the face.
The sound echoed through the hallway as Sophia stumbled backward. “Nathan, what-”
He grabbed her throat, his fingers tightening dangerously. “What did you tell my parents about my hospitalization? Why did you involve Elena?”
Sophia gasped for air, her hands clawing at his grip. “I was trying to help you.”

“Help me?” Nathan’s laugh was harsh and bitter. “You manipulated my mother into attacking an innocent
woman.”
He released her throat, and she collapsed against the doorframe. “If you continue to pressure me, I’ll release compromising photos of you online.”
Sophia’s eyes widened in shock. “You’ve been photographing me?”
Nathan’s smile was cold and calculating. “I never trusted your intentions from the beginning. I kept evidence as insurance against your schemes.”
