Chapter 212: You Are Really Ruthless To Me
Chapter 212: You Are Really Ruthless To Me
(Sophia Rivers’s POV)
She indeed hated Marcus Blackwood, hated his heartlessness. She hated Elena Blackwood
even more, because her existence disrupted all her plans.
If Elena didn’t exist, she would have been Luna to the Shadow Moon Pack long ago and would have been able to get rid of the devil in front of her!
Felix Xavier lightly swirled the wine in his glass, looked at the intense hatred in her eyes, and laughed, “Then let me see your sincerity first.”
Sophia was stunned, and the next moment she understood something from his face, her
face pale.
“No,” she whispered, backing away from the pool’s edge. “I won’t do that again.”
Felix’s smile turned predatory. “You will if you want my help with Elena Blackwood.”
The memories of their past arrangement flooded back. The humiliation, the pain, the complete loss of dignity.
“I gave you the research data,” she said desperately. “Isn’t that enough?”
Felix stood up in the pool, water cascading down his muscled frame. “Data can be faked, Sophia. But your submission… that’s real proof of loyalty.”
She clutched the copied research report tighter against her chest. Her disabled hand throbbed with phantom pain.
“Choose,” Felix said coldly. “Your pride, or your revenge against the Blackwoods.”
Sophia closed her eyes, feeling the familiar weight of powerlessness crushing down on her. She had come too far to turn back now.
(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
In the afternoon, I hurried into the Steel Ascent and saw Hugo Ashworth inside, my steps faltering slightly.
Meeting his gaze, I looked away and greeted him with a smile, “What a coincidence.”

Then I stood to the side, pressing myself against the elevator wall.

Hugo stared at the back of my head, narrowing his eyes, “You seem a little off today.”
I forced a smile, “What’s off?”
“Elena, you won’t even look at me.”
I was momentarily speechless, slowly turning my head to look at him, “Professor Ashworth,
is there… anything strange about that?”
I wondered if he knew about my eavesdropping. The thought made my stomach clench with
nervous embarrassment.
Hugo touched his cheek, pondering, “Is there something unsightly on my face?”
“No, there isn’t.”
“So, you simply don’t want to see me?”
I was at a loss for words. He really had a knack for making startling statements!
I chuckled dryly, “You’re quite the guesser.”
The elevator reached the ground floor, and Hugo stepped out first, followed by me.
Worried that I might have gone too far, I quickly caught up, “Professor Ashworth!”
After all, it wasn’t that I didn’t want to see him. It was just that I hadn’t had time to process some information and didn’t know how to face him.
Hugo suddenly stopped, turned around, and I bumped into him, unable to stop in time.
He instinctively reached out to steady me, his hands gripping my shoulders.
“What are you doing!”
Just by chance, such an accident was witnessed by Marcus Blackwood.
Marcus approached step by step, his golden eyes gloomy, with a thin layer of coldness radiating from his entire being.
I stepped back, distancing myself from Hugo immediately. The next moment, Marcus grabbed my wrist, pulled me to his side, and put his arm around my shoulder possessively.
Hugo withdrew his gaze, looking at Marcus, “Alpha Marcus must have misunderstood something?”

He said coldly, “Whether it’s a misunderstanding or something else, Professor Ashworth
knows in his heart.”
Hugo frowned, his expression darkening at the accusation.
I pulled at Marcus’s sleeve, “Marcus, it was just a misunderstanding.”
Hearing me explain for Hugo, Marcus’s expression darkened further, his tone even colder.
Without letting me say anything more, Marcus took me away, his grip on my wrist almost
painful.
Hugo stood there, his face gradually darkening as he watched us leave.
On the other side, I was taken to the car by Marcus in the Underground Parking Caverns.
He loosened his tie and dismissed his driver with a sharp gesture. “Get out.”
The driver quickly exited the vehicle, leaving us alone in the confined space.
I struggled, but Marcus grabbed me and pulled me into his arms, lowering the seat back.
As I fell back with the seat, the Alpha kissed

His lips were demanding, desperate, as if he was trying to claim something that was slipping away from him.
Seeing that things were about to get out of control, I bit his lip and then slapped him.
The sound of the slap was particularly jarring in the quiet car.
He seemed frozen in place, his collar open in disarray, his collarbone flushed with a dark red.
I was stunned for a few seconds, my eyes gradually clearing, as I stared at him, “Marcus, whether you believe it or not, I said it was just an accident, you don’t need to look so aggrieved.”
His chest rose and fell with his breath, his voice hoarse, “Can’t I even feel aggrieved?”
I didn’t answer, unable to find words that wouldn’t make things worse.
Understanding my silence, he suddenly laughed, his eyes bloodshot, “You are really ruthless
to me.”
