(Sophia’s POV)
“Sophia, are you…are you angry? I’m sorry, I just felt it wasn’t worth it for you, so I… Isabella’s voice trembled
through the phone.
I could hear the panic in her words. She realized she had said too much and was desperately trying to
backtrack.
I forced a smile, even though she couldn’t see it. “It’s okay, I know. After all, Marcus and I have been separated
for six years…
“So what if you’ve been separated for six years!” Isabella’s voice rose with indignation. “People can still get
back together after breaking up! Sister Sophia, you must work hard and strive to be my cousin’s Luna!”
“Okay.” I hung up the phone abruptly.
My smile vanished instantly. The mask I wore for Isabella fell away like shattered glass.
I turned to the mysterious werewolf lounging on my bed. His dark eyes watched me with calculating interest.
“Our collaboration still holds, doesn’t it?” I questioned him sharply. “Considering Alpha Marcus seems
unwilling to agree to Elena’s mate bond severance proposal”
The werewolf unhurriedly put on his suit jacket. His movements were deliberate and controlled.
“Our agreement remains valid,” he affirmed without hesitation.
He approached me with predatory grace. Before I could react, he pinched my cheek between his fingers.
His grip was firm but not painful. A warning disguised as affection
“But remember,” his voice dropped to a dangerous whisper “No more harming Elena. I meant what I said
before”
I smiled flirtatiously in his grasp. My body language screamed submission while my mind calculated.
“I know,” I purred sweetly
As he departed, all pretense of amusement faded from my face. The door clicked shut behind him with finality
I scorned at the fact that everyone seemed to prioritize Elena. First Marcus, now this mysterious ally.
My gaze fell on the unfinished red wine on the table. The deep crimson liquid reminded me of blood.
I sneered, anticipating Elena’s disappointment when she learns the truth. When she discovers that even her supposed allies have their own agendas.
(Elena’s POV)
Back at the Blackwood Ancestral Manor, I spent the morning with Margaret in the Meditation Sanctuary. The familiar ritual of transcribing the Book of Poetry brought unexpected peace.
Margaret believed in the calming and focusing power of such activities. Her weathered hands moved

Although not particularly devout myself, I was more receptive to these practices than others in the Blackwood family. The repetitive motions soothed my restless mind.
As I exited the sanctuary, I encountered Marcus and Grace Burton approaching. Grace’s warm smile
contrasted sharply with Marcus’s stern expression.
“Good morning, Luna Elena,” Grace greeted me respectfully.
I met Marcus’s gaze briefly. “I was just leaving. Grandmother needs her rest.
Grace Burton bowed slightly before entering to prepare the calming incense. The familiar scent of moonflower and sage would soon fill the sacred space.
I turned to leave, assuming Marcus was there to see his grandmother. But his voice stopped me cold.
“Elena”
I turned back reluctantly. “What is it?”
Marcus’s golden eyes fixed on my bare ring finger. “Did you talk with grandmother?”
I shrugged casually. “We talked about many things.”
Marcus pointed directly at my ring finger. His voice carried unmistakable authority.
“Wear your Eternal Bond Mating Ring when in front of elders.”
A wave of emotions washed over me. My gaze fell on Marcus’s ring finger involuntarily.
The Blackwood family mating ring gleamed on his hand. The eight–carat diamond caught the moming light
brilliantly.
The ring was worth a fortune. Yet Marcus had only worn it once while I wore mine for six years.
“Do the elders really care about the mating ring?” I asked with barely concealed bitterness.
“You only need to wear it in front of the elders, Marcus replied curtly.
“Okay, I know.” I turned and left without another word.
(Patricia’s POV)
At the Northern Territory Central Healing Institute, Richard and I rushed to David’s side. We had finally learned that the restrictions on visiting our son had been lifted.
Seeing David well cared for brought immense relief. His color looked better, and the healing equipment hummed reassuringly around his bed,
I wandered the hospital floor afterward, needing a moment to process everything. The sterile corridors felt endless under the fluorescent lights..
Dorothea Whitmore appeared in the hallway, searching aimlessly. She pressed elevator buttons randomly, her

She had somehow arrived on David’s floor. Her beautiful face held the innocent confusion of a lost child.
I was leaving David’s room to fetch hot water when I encountered her. The sight of this woman struck me like lightning.

Dorothea tilted her head, studying me with equal fascination. Suddenly, she grabbed my arm with surprising

“Have you seen my Sweetheart?” she asked urgently.
Before I could react, Benjamin Hayes and several medical staff arrived. Their footsteps echoed urgently down
the corridor.
“Mrs. Whitmore!” Benjamin called out with obvious relief.

The medical staff gently led the calmed Dorothea away. Her voice drifted back as she cooed to her doll.
I remained frozen in place, shaken by the encounter.
Richard noticed my prolonged absence and came looking for me. His concerned expression deepened when he saw my pale face.
“What happened?” he asked worriedly.
“I just saw a woman who looked like Elena,” I whispered. “I wonder if she could be Elena’s biological mother.”
Richard dismissed my concern with a wave of his hand. “Focus on caring for our son. Don’t let your imagination run wild.”
(Elena’s POV)
Back at Moonhaven Estate, my phone rang as I entered the residential tower. Nathan’s name appeared on the
screen.
“Elena, I’m visiting a friend at the hospital, Nathan’s voice was warm through the speaker. “Are you still at the Institute? Have you been transferred yet?”
“I’m on leave and will be transferred soon,” I replied honestly.
“Would you like to have dinner tonight?” Nathan asked hopefully.
I smiled despite myself. “I won’t go if you’re paying. I don’t want to take advantage of you.”
Nathan laughed heartily. “Then it’s your treat.”
A woman’s laughter could be heard from Nathan’s side. His voice turned playfully stern
“What are you laughing at? I’m not doing it for you.”
I couldn’t help but smile at his obvious embarrassment. “Okay, see you tonight.”
After hanging up, I entered the Steel Ascent with lighter steps.
That evening at 7 p.m., I arrived early at the Crimson Rose Tavern. The familiar ambiance felt welcoming after the day’s tensions.

“Why are you staring at me?” Nathan asked with amusement.
I shook my head in embarrassment and picked up the menu to order.
