Chapter 79: Confrontation at the Medical Center
(Isabella Blackwood’s POV)
At noon, Diana Blackwood accompanied me to Shadowmere Medical Center to see Adrian Whitmore. The medical center was owned by the Blackwood Consortium, and as the second grand pup of the Blackwood family, I was known by almost everyone in the hospital.
My heels clicked against the polished marble floors as we approached the reception desk. The familiar scent
of antiseptic and the soft hum of medical equipment filled the air.
“Mrs. Blackwood, Miss Isabella,” Nurse Jennifer Hayes at the front desk greeted us warmly. Her smile was professional but genuine. “What brings you here?”
I arrogantly raised my chin, letting my status speak for itself. “My mom and I are here to visit Young Master
Whitmore and his mother.”
Nurse Hayes looked embarrassed, her smile faltering slightly, “Well, Miss Isabella, Young Master and his mother just went out.

“What?” My face twisted with displeasure. I turned to look at Diana Blackwood, my voice rising with
indignation. “Mom, how could he do this? I told him I would come to see him. Is he deliberately avoiding me?”
I had taken a fancy to Adrian Whitmore when I first met him. I was determined to secure a mating bond with
him. Moreover, my father Sebastian Blackwood also intended to arrange a mating alliance with the Whitmore
Family.
Although the Whitmore Family had not yet given a reply, at least I knew that no one else was worthy of Adrian Whitmore except me. I was a Blackwood, after all.
Diana Blackwood frowned, her voice sharp with disapproval. “Can’t you restrain yourself a bit, being a Blackwood family daughter?”
“I am the Blackwood family’s daughter!” I didn’t care about her criticism. “Who else is worthy of him besides
me?”
I was born into the Blackwood family, with a silver spoon in my mouth. An enviable life of wealth and status, and everything I desired was within easy reach. How could I wrong myself?
Diana Blackwood shook her head and looked at Nurse Hayes with a forced smile. “Where did Mr. Whitmore
and his mother go? Did they say?”
“They didn’t say” Nurse Hayes shook her head. Then she seemed to remember something and continued, “But it wasn’t just Mr. Whitmore and his mother. There was also a woman with them,”
My attention sharpened immediately. Another woman?
“I heard Mr. Whitmore’s assistant call that woman Miss Blackthorne, Nurse Hayes added innocently.
Before Diana Blackwood could speak, my face darkened like a storm cloud. Miss Blackthorne? What other vixen dared to covet my man?

Chapter 79 Confrontation
At the same time, I accompanied Adrian Whitmore and Dorothea Whitmore shopping in Shadowmere Plaza downstairs. Except for the two lower floors, the third and fourth floors were all reserved by him, just because he didn’t want Dorothea Whitmore to be disturbed.
I specially wore a thin high–necked chiffon shirt to cover the mate marks on my neck. The fabric felt soft against my skin, hiding the evidence of Marcus’s possessive claiming from the night before.
“Sweetheart, come quickly!” Dorothea Whitmore was lying in front of the window of the Enchanted Doll Boutique. Her eyes were full of longing, like a child seeing her favorite toy. “Buy it back, Sweetheart will definitely like it.”
“Madam, if you like it, come into the store and have a look,” Store Manager Roberts came out to greet us enthusiastically. Being able to reserve the entire floor meant the person was either rich or noble. Being able to receive such a person, he couldn’t be happier.
Dorothea Whitmore went straight into the store without hesitation. I smiled and looked at Adrian Whitmore. genuine warmth in my voice. “You never seem to stop Aunt Dorothea from buying anything?”
Although I knew that Adrian Whitmore didn’t care about that little bit of money, it would be a average person to buy so many things back without knowing where to put them.

“As long as she’s happy,” Adrian Whitmore said indulgently, looking at his mother who was as happy as a
child
I also smiled, touched by his devotion. “Aunt Dorothea is really lucky to have a son like you.”
“There’s no way, if I wronged my mom, my dad wouldn’t let me off,” he replied with gentle humor.
Just as I was a about to ask something, a sharp voice came from behind. “Young Master Whitmore, how can
you be with another woman-”
The moment I turned my head, Isabella Blackwood was stunned. “How is it you?”
“Why can’t it be me?” I asked calmly, though irritation flickered through me.
Isabella Blackwood clenched her hands, her face unsightly.
How could the she–wolf with Adrian Whitmore be Elena Blackwood? Indeed, Sophia Rivers was right, this
she–wolf was two–timing behind her cousin’s back!
“So, last time you were with Young Master Sterling, and now you’re clinging to Young Master Whitmore?
Sophia was right, you are two–timing behind Marcus’s back!” Her voice rose with vicious accusation. “Elena,
how cheap can you get? Do you just like stealing other people’s men!”
My face darkened at her crude insults. Just as I was about to speak, Adrian Whitmore’s angry voice rang in
my ears.
“Miss Blackwood, who I’m with is my right. Who are you to tell me what to do?”
(Isabella Blackwood’s POV)
I was stunned by his cold rejection. Except for my cousin Marcus, no man had ever dared to give me the cold shoulder, especially in front of Elena Blackwood.
“Young Master Whitmore, you don’t know, she actually is-“I suddenly choked, my chest extremely stuffy.
What I wanted to say was that Elena Blackwood was my sister–in–law, But in my heart, I had never

acknowledged it. Besides, my cousin hadn’t made the mating bond public. If I said it, wouldn’t I ruin my
cousin’s lifelong happiness with Sephia Rivers?
A cold smile tugged at the corner of Elena’s mouth. I actually am what?”
I gritted my teeth, unable to swallow this anger. “You’re just a social climber! A gold digger! It’s one thing for you to covet my cousin, but you also flirt with Young Master Sterling, and now you won’t even let Young
Master Whitmore gol”
Adrian Whitmore stood in front of Elena Blackwood, smiling faintly. “So this is what the Blackwood family’s
upbringing is like?”
“Young Master Whitmore-“I started desperately.
(Diana Blackwood’s POV)
“Bella!” I arrived just in time to witness this scene. My eyes swept over Elena Blackwood behind Adrian Whitmore, and a hint of surprise flashed in my eyes.
In my impression, Elena Blackwood was just a little sparrow who had flown up a branch and phoenix. I didn’t bother to pay attention to her at all. I just didn’t expect that she could actua by Young Master Whitmore.
It seemed that I had underestimated her.

I walked over with a smile, damage control mode activated. Young Master Whitmore, don’t be angry, it’s because I didn’t teach my daughter well, allowing Bella to develop this arrogant personality.”
“Bella has always been straightforward and outspoken, and her words aren’t pleasant to hear, but she means
no harm, I continued smoothly
“Does Mrs. Blackwood call these words ‘straightforward and outspoken“?” The smile on Adrian Whitmore’s face gradually faded, but he still maintained a polite smile. “So insulting words can also be beautified. The Blackwood family’s educational style is truly astonishing
My smile froze. How could I not hear the sarcasm in those words? I was losing face. But I couldn’t give up on this mating alliance with the Whitmore Family.
In the Blackwood family, I was always suppressed by my eldest sister–in–law, Victoria Blackwood, who had the support of her family. The old lady’s favorite daughter–in–law was also Victoria Blackwood.
I gave birth to Isabella Blackwood and developed a root of illness, unable to bear a son. My mate Sebastian was also unsuccessful, not as good as the eldest son, Alexander Blackwood. When the old lady passed away in the future, everything in the Blackwood family would fall to Marcus Blackwood.
At that time, where would Isabella and I have a place? If I secured a mating alliance with the Whitmore Family, with the Whitmore Family’s son–in–law by my side, I wouldn’t have too hard a time in the Blackwood family.
My eyes swept over Elena Blackwood, and I smiled amiably. “Elena, we’re all family, and Grandmother. Margaret likes you so much. I didn’t expect you to be friends with Young Master Whitmore.”
“You know Bella is insensible. She offended you, and I apologize on her behalf. For Grandmother’s sake, please help Bella say a few good words to Young Master Whitmore.”
Adrian Whitmore narrowed his eyes and looked at Elena Blackwood. A hint of doubt flickered in his

expression at the words “a family.”
Before Elena Blackwood could answer, Isabella Blackwood couldn’t sit still. “Mom! Why are you apologizing to
her-
“Shut up!” I scolded her harshly. Being a member of the Blackwood family, do you not think you have disgraced the Blackwood family enough?”
Noticing that I was truly angry, Isabella Blackwood’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t dare to speak again.
Elena Blackwood crossed her arms and smiled coldly. “Aunt, I’m sorry, I can’t afford to be in this family you
speak of. I have nothing to do with the Blackwood family
“So, Elena, you forgot your identity as soon as you came out?” Isabella Blackwood pointed at her accusingly. “Do you believe that I’ll tell my cousin now and let him… let him deal with you!”
“Go ahead and tell him,” Elena Blackwood said with a couldn’t–care–less expression. “Tell him whatever you
want. If Marcus cares about this, his name isn’t Blackwood. Of course, if he does care, how will you explain it
to your Sister Sophia, right?”
“You” Isabella Blackwood was furious, but these words made her unable to refute.
I stared intently at Elena Blackwood. Compared to the Elena Blackwood who used to be obedient in the Blackwood family and never dared to contradict anyone, I vaguely felt that the person in front of me was completely different.
Or perhaps, this was Elena Blackwood’s true self all along.
“Elena, you know very well how Grandmother Margaret treats you. Don’t go too far,” I warned.
“Aunt, don’t always use the Old Madam to pressure me. It’s the Old Madam who has been kind to me, not you. The Old Madam understands everything I do.” Elena Blackwood was extremely calm.
(Elena’s POV)
In the past, I respected everyone in the Blackwood family, but except for the Old Madam, no one respected me. I loved Marcus and was willing to endure grievances, but now that I no longer wanted to love him, what did the people and affairs of the Blackwood family have to do with me?
