“There are a few complications, Mr Fordham, but I’m certain it’s nothing we cannot handle. What’s your relationship with her again?” The doctor questioned walking towards the corridor leading to Stella’s room
Drenched in hot sweats, Ethan continued to trail behind him, while trying so much to control his emotions. His body was drenched with her blood including his hands and face,
“Wife. She’s my wife.” Ethan responded with thinking about what he had just said. The only thing on his mind at the moment was Eva and how the fuck she would grow up without her mother. If anything happened to Stella now, Eva might blame and hate him for the rest of her life.
Apart from that, Ethan didn’t want his daughter to grow up with a single parent,
“Tell me what’s wrong, doctor, please I urgently need to know how my wife is doing.” Ethan uttered when they both got to the entrance of Stella’s VIP ward and that was when the doctor let out a deep breath,
“Did you know that your wife was two weeks pregnant?” Ethan didn’t give a response, and his shock was enough to tell the doctor he had absolutely no idea about it.
“But I’m sorry to inform you that she lost the baby due to some complications with the bleeding.”
He let out a deep sigh “Is she awake?”
“You may go in to see her for yourself.” The doctor uttered and opened the door. Once Ethan stepped into the ward, he also stepped in afterward,
“How do you feel?” The doctor questioned, but there was no response from Stella as she turned over to the other side,
“Can I have a moment with her?” Ethan questioned and once the doctor stepped out of the ward, he walked over to the other side,
“How do you feel?”
“Let’s break up, Ethan.” Shirley started, “I can’t do this with you anymore. I want to take my daughter and leave.” Shirley half yelled, but Ethan remained silent.
“10 years ago, I was the love of your life, but Olivia stole you away from me. You promised to get married to me, but instead, you got married to her, with a promise that it was only temporary, that you would come back for the lady who saved your life, Ethan; you made that promise to me, and yet again you’re letting her come in the way of everything. For all you know, she might even be dead out there” Shirley yelled, but Ethan gritted his teeth to swallow his anger,
“Let’s talk about this when you recover, Shirley. I’m sorry about what happened. I’m sorry that I fell in love with the woman I had mistakenly married instead of you, but I couldn’t help it, and I still can’t help but blame myself for letting her go.”
“Your apology isn’t going to bring back the baby I lost, Ethan so I chose to leave. I chose to walk away.” Shirley responded,
Taking another deep breath in, Ethan finally let out a deep breath, and continued,
“But this will.” He started, but she waited to hear what he had to say,
“Marry me, Shirley, and let’s start a complete family together for the sake of our daughter. I want to make things right again, and I promise to do whatever it takes to make things right and earn your forgiveness, even if it’s going to take forever.” Ethan muttered, but Shirley remained quiet,

“Spill it out, Stella, this was all you, right?” Olivia questioned chopping the vegetables on the tray. It was almost 10 am and thankfully, Bryan had taken Noah to school,
“I really didn’t do anything, Olivia. But what did you say? Did you agree to be his girlfriend?” Stella yelled back from the living room, but she immediately turned backward when she heard Olivia’s voice from behind,
“Turn it off.”
“Oh shit! I’m so sorry, Olivia. I didn’t mean for you to see this. I was just trying to…”
“Spy on him?” Olivia heaved deeply as she stared at the TV and the memory she had long always wanted to forget but deep down, it wasn’t just working replayed in her head. “Just turn the damn TV off, okay.” She muttered again, and dropped the tray on the dining table,
As fast as possible, Stella pressed the remote and turned off the TV,
“Do you still think about him?”
“The only thing I feel when I think about him is hate, Stella, trust me, just hate,” Olivia responded and dropped the tray on the table,
“Now come on, let’s eat. I have to go pick up Noah from your place by 5, and it’s almost 4 pm.” She uttered, but Stella rose to her feet, and clamped her lips as she walked towards the dining,
“I’m sorry, I can’t stay. I have to go get ready for tomorrow, Olivia because even as I’m standing right here, I’m as nervous as hell. My heart’s beating so fast just thinking about how I should react or what I should even wear tomorrow.” Stella responded, trying to take a deep breath in, but Olivia let out a smile and walked towards her.
She gently placed her hands on Stella’s shoulder, making her shoulders firm again,
“Look at me,” Olivia uttered,
“You’re going to do great. You’re going to do great because you deserve him, Stella. You’re the best person for Dave and he loves you so much. His family is going to love you.”
“You think so?”
“I know so.”
“Alright, I’ve got to go buy some new clothes, change my hairstyle, and think of a few gifts I could get. I heard he has an elder sis he hasn’t seen for so many years now and she’s going to be back for the family dinner. Oh gosh, I’m so nervous,” Stella muttered with a shaky voice,
“Hey, hey, calm down. You and Dave have been together for so long now so it’s always going to be you, Stella, trust me. More importantly, they are going to like you.” Olivia uttered and pulled Stella into a warm embrace. Just almost immediately, a knock was heard on the door and she broke the hug.
“That must be Bryan.” She said and began walking towards the door while Stella picked her bag from the couch,

door, Bryan stood at the entrance with a bouquet in his hands, almost covering half of his face,
“Okay, this is going to be good.” Stella teased and muttered behind Olivia, “He really loves you. Give him a chance, Olivia.” Stella muttered from behind her and cleared her throat aloud,
“You two have a nice day.” She waved Olivia goodbye and immediately began to head towards the car. Olivia let out a dry chuckle, one that made Bryan understand that she had no idea what to say, so he decided to speak first,
“Can I come in?”
“Oh goodness, yes please come in.” She let out a laugh and stepped away from the door, “I’m so sorry.” She muttered as Bryan stepped in, but he chuckled,
“You really don’t have to apologize every day, especially because you know I’d never get mad at you for anything,” Bryan uttered and handed Olivia the flowers he was holding,
“They are your favorite, Red roses.” He said and watched her let out a smile big enough to warm every part of his heart. Bryan had never really thought he would end up falling in love again after what he had been through with his ex–fiance years ago. He had made it a point of duty never to trust women, but with Olivia, it was different,
Though he knew nothing about her past because she wouldn’t tell him, all he knew was that it was something really sad. He could feel that just like him, she had been through something really sad,
“Thank you so much. I made food, would you like to…” Olivia’s words were cut short when Bryan took her hand, leaned closer to her, and pecked her forehead,
“How long do I have to wait, Olivia?” He muttered to her with his gaze fixated on hers, and she swallowed a lump of saliva down her throat as her heart kept thumping so hard in her ribcage,

“No, it’s fine. I’m sorry. I know you’re not ready and I just keep pushing and…”
“I was going to say I accept…” she interjected his words and smiled widely,
“I accept, Bryan Miller, I accept to be your girlfriend,” Olivia uttered, and without wasting another second, Bryan cupped her face happily and leaned in for a deep kiss.
