“Let go of me!” Olivia yelled, struggling from his grip immediately she broke the kiss between them, but as Ethan let go. she tripped backward and fell down to the ground,
“Ouch!” A loud wince escaped Olivia’s mouth as she cried out, and Ethan immediately rose to his feet, rushing towards
her.
“Hey, are you alright?” He called out, squatting to her level as he watched her cry out,
“Where does it hurt?” He questioned worriedly and Olivia immediately held her ankle,
“My ankle, it hurts Ethan, it hurts.” She called out while avoiding his gaze. Ethan immediately rose to his feet, hurried towards the drawer close to the bed,
“What the hell were you thinking sneaking up on me like that Olivia? I could perceive your scent even in my sleep, but I didn’t really believe you were standing there so close to me.” Ethan said, and immediately he found what he was looking for, he rushed towards the door and swiped the card in his hand over the sensor,
“I’m not going to hurt you, okay? Do you trust me?” He questioned as he got to where Olivia was, but there was no response from her.
“I guess it’ll take a while longer. Hold my shoulders right now.” Ethan said, but Olivia arch her brows, and questioned, “Why?”
“Just hold my shoulders, princess.” He uttered and before she could ask another question, he grabbed her arm and placed it on his shoulder.
Olivia let out another painful cry when he picked her up into his arms, “I’m so sorry.”
“Where are you taking me to, Ethan?” She questioned worriedly as Ethan began to walk towards the entrance,
“To a hospital. We need to get your ankle checked properly before it becomes something serious,” Ethan uttered, but she shook her head in negation,
“No, I don’t want to go. Just take me to a hospital or take me home. My fiance’s a doctor and…”
He didn’t let her finish. A loud scoff escaped Ethan’s lips, and all the more the urge to keep her away from Bryan increased,
“I don’t give a fuck!” He responded coldly and slowly tucked her into the car. As Ethan shut the door, he hurried to the other side and got into the car,
“You’re not leaving until I ensure your ankle has been properly taken care of. You don’t expect your son to see you this way, do you?”
Slowly, she shook her head in negation and Ethan let out a small smile. He had never believed she was cute, but staring at her right now, there were so many things his stupidity and blindness in the past had prevented him from seeing about Olivia,
He ignited the engine and drove the car.
A little while later, the car halted and Ethan stepped out of the car,
“Gently place your arms around my shoulder.” He muttered when he opened the car door, and Olivia did as he said with any questions,
When he picked her up in his arms, she shut her eyes to avoid seeing the part of his body that she liked so much,

Chapter 28
Ethan was on a white t–shirt, but two of the upper buttons were left undone, so she could partially see his chest,
“Does it hurt that much to make you shut your eyes? Ethan questioned when he stared down at Olivia to see her eyes shut, but she shook her head without opening them,
“I need urgent attention, immediately!” His voice came out coldly as he got in, and a stretcher was brought right to him. When Olivia felt her body on the soft bed, she opened her eyes to see him standing close to her,
Of course, there were so many people in the hospital, but the almighty Ethan Fordham could command attention within seconds.
“She hurt her ankle, is she going to be okay?”
When Olivia continued to stare at him, all she could see was an extremely worried ex–husband, a man who wasn’t supposed to be worried about her because he hated her and chose his first love over her,
“She’s going to be okay, Mr Fordham. We just have to check how seriously she sprained her ankle and we will know what to do next.” The female doctor’s voice came next and Ethan nodded his head while taking a few steps backwards,
Every wince Olivia made while being attended to made his heart thump, and his brow arched whenever she cried out in a little pain,
About an hour later, the doctor came towards him,
“We’ll just have to put a cast on her, and she’ll be needing crutches for a few weeks till the bone is all healed up.”
Ethan nodded his head,
“Thank you so much.”
“Can I leave today?” Olivia’s voice interrupted, and the doctor turned towards her,
“I suppose you can. Once the cast has been fixed on your ankle and you got the stretcher, then you’ll be good to go. But you’ll need assistance now and then till you finally get used to walking with crutches.” The doctor announced and began to walk out of the ward,
Alone, Ethan walked towards the bed,
“Does it still hurt?” He questioned,
“I don’t think me hurting myself should be any concern of yours, Ethan. You and I were over six years ago, so please, I think it’s weird that you’re trying to pretend to be worried about me. I need to place a call to my fiance as soon as possible so he doesn’t get worried.” Olivia retorted and afterward, turned her gaze to the other side,
There was no point staring at Ethan,
“I’ll have Luke inform Bryan about your whereabouts as soon as possible,” Ethan uttered.
There was silence for about a minute until he continued,
“But I want to ask you something.”
When Olivia heard this, she cocked her head towards him,
“If I answer correctly, you have to promise to stay the hell away from me, Ethan.”
His gaze didn’t leave hers, and he nodded his head, tucking one hand into his pocket,
“Do you still hate me?”

Chapter 28
Olivia let out a loud scoff when she heard Ethan’s question as it sounded so funny to her,
How could she not hate him? She had loved him so much for so many years, and yet he simply threw her aside when Shirley returned. He had ended a marriage she devoted every damn thing to and even made the world believe she was nothing but his mistress,
“Hate is simply an understatement, Ethan, I despise you so much that the sight of your face brings back memories I would give anything in the world to never recall again,” Olivia responded, swallowing a lump of saliva down her throat, and trying to control the tears threatening to form in her eyes.
