“Hey, are you okay?” Bryan questioned still staring at Olivia after a long moment of silence. He walked closer to her and sat down on the bed
“Yes, I’m fine Bryan. I’m so sorry about what happened yesterday. Everything about my past came rushing to me and…”
Bryan leaned closer and planted a kiss on Olivia’s forehead, keeping her shut for the moment,
“You don’t have to explain yourself to me, Olivia. I was so worried last night that I could sleep. Noah’s been asking for his mother and I told him you got held up on the road so you had to get a hotel. It took a while to get him to sleep.”
“Where’s my little boy?” Olivia questioned worriedly,
“I couldn’t bring him with me, but he’s fine at home. I’ll get you discharged so we can go back home.” Bryan uttered and rose to his head after planting another soft kiss on Olivia’s forehead,
As soon as the door was shut, Olivia let out a deep breath. Maybe she had been too harsh on Ethan, but he certainly deserved everything he was getting from her,
“We’ll put you in a cast and prescribe a few helpful drugs for you, and you’ll be discharged immediately.” The doctor announced and Olivia nodded her head.
About an hour later, everything was set and it was time to head back. With Bryan’s assistance, Olivia got into the front seat of the car and he shut the door,
When Bryan got into the car, he ignited the engine and cocked his head towards Olivia,
“Are you hungry?” Bryan questioned but got no response from Olivia and as he stared at her, he was quick to notice that she was lost in thought,
“Baby.” He called for the fifth time but there was no response until Olivia felt his touch on her shoulder and her gaze instantly darted toward him,
“Are you alright?” Bryan questioned and Olivia nodded her head,
“I’m fine, I’m really okay.” She responded,
“You were lost in thought? Did something happen?”
“I want to get the contract signed as soon as possible and open the hospital babe. There’s an urgent patient I need to attend to and the hospital could help me keep track of Noah’s recent conditions.” Olivia uttered as Bryan ignited the car engine,
“We could have done that but your condition…”
“I’m perfectly fine. You’re here with me babe, so I’m perfectly fine. First, we have to open the hospital, and then my resumption could come after I’m completely healed up. Is that okay?” Olivia questioned and Bryan instantly nodded his head.
“Thank you so much…” She muttered before taking a deep breath in,
30 minutes later, Bryan pulled up in front of a mansion and stepped out of it. In a hurry, he rushed over to Olivia’s side and helped her out of the car,
“Come on, can you walk? I’ll ask the maid to get you crutches in.” Bryan uttered as he outstretched his hand so Olivia could take it,

“Hold on tight, I’ll carry you instead.” He interjected, lowering his body so he could pick her up in his arms. Olivia let out a light chuckle when he did this and gently wrapped her arms around his neck,
“What if Noah sees us?” She muttered,
“He’s a smart boy babe. He’s bound to find out about our relationship sooner or later.”
“I don’t know how he’s going to take it, Bryan. He’s always seen you as an uncle so it might be a different kind of feeling for him…”
“No pressure baby. You can take all the time you need to make him understand.” Bryan interjected and continued walking till he got to the entrance of the house
With just a few spoken words, the door opened and they both stepped in,
“Mommy!” Olivia heard Noah’s voice and when Bryan dropped he gently on the couch, he ran up to her,
“Are you okay, Mommy? What happened? Did someone hurt you, Mommy? Tell me and I’m going to kick their ass.” Noah uttered making Olivia burst into laughter,
“That’s my brave Superman baby, but no one tried to hurt Mommy. I got into a little accident on my way back home to ou, baby, and I ended up with this.”
“Does it hurt Mommy?”
“A little, but I’ll be all good in a few days Son.”
“Okay, Mommy. I’m going to be here and I’ll shower you with all the love you need. I won’t leave your side.”
“That’s so sweet of you, baby. Come here, come give Mommy a big hug to make her feel better.” Olivia muttered,
“I’ll go make something real quick,” Bryan interjected and began walking away, but as he got to the entrance of the kitchen, his phone began ringing. He tucked his hand into his pocket only to see it was Ethan’s assistant calling.
A tear slid down Ethan’s eyes as he stared at Eva peacefully asleep on her little bed,
His fingers gently rubbed her forehead and all Ethan felt deep down was pain, So much pain.
He had failed to notice anything about her constant sickness because he never had time for his daughter or his family,
“I’m so sorry, baby; Daddy is so sorry,” Bryan muttered, trying so hard to control his tears, but how could he do that when his daughter was sick?
Shirley’s voice repeatedly kept playing over and over in his head,
“She’s been getting sick lately and I was worried. I called severally yesterday to inform you that Eva had been rushed to a nearby hospital after a fever. She’s been diagnosed with cancer. It’s all your fault, Ethan. How many times were you there for your little girl?”
The last words hurt the most and at that moment, Ethan almost felt his entire world falling apart right in front of him.
He sniffled and rose to his feet immediately, heading towards the door after covering Evȧ properly with the duvet and planting a kiss on her forehead,
As Ethan stood at the entrance, he stared at Eva one more time before shutting the door,
