“Is Mr Foster in?” Stella questioned a young lady whom she recognized as David’s secretary at the counter, but when the lady raised her gaze to stare at Stella, she shook her head in negation,
“No, Mr Foster isn’t in.” The last responded, but Stella let out a scoff. It was a big lie and she could easily tell that,
“Alright, I’ll just wait for him at his office until he’s back. Please call him to tell him I’m here.” She uttered and began to walk towards the office, but the young lady rose to her feet,
“No! No ma’am, you really can’t go in. I told you he isn’t in at the moment.”
Stella arched her brows at Angela. This was the first time this was happening and this new behavior was enough to tell Stella that David was clearly trying to avoid her just like he had been ignoring her calls for days and he hadn’t been home for days as well,
Finally, after so much persistence, she was able to push her way in,
When Stella opened the door, she met a lady together with David and they both seemed to be having a good time especially because they both had a big smile on their faces,
“Babe.” She uttered as she stepped in,
“What the hell is going on babe?” Stella muttered with a shaky voice. Not only was he smiling with the lady in front of him, but they were also holding hands, and the sight of it almost didn’t look real to Stella,
“Stella, what are you doing here?” Dave’s voice shot in next, an angry look evident on his face as he instantly let go of the lady’s hand,
When Stella took her gaze away from the lady and averted them back to Dave, she heaved deeply,
“You weren’t answering my call, you haven’t been answering any of my damn calls for days and I was worried something must have happened to you. Why didn’t you contact me all these while and why aren’t you coming back home.” Stella yelled back,
“Let’s take this outside,” Dave uttered, but Stella instantly shook her head in negation,
“If anyone is to leave, it’s this slut here.”
Dave arched his brows as he rose to his feet. He hurried towards Stella and grabbed her arm,
“You need to leave, right now.” He muttered to her, but the lady rose to her feet,
“Dave, I think I should go. I see you have a girlfriend and she might start to have the wrong idea about us.”
“You’re not going anywhere, Isabelle; stay here and wait for me,” Dave responded, and cocked his head back at Stella who had a surprised look on her face,
Tears settled at the base of her eyes as she stared at Dave again, “What the hell is going on Dave? Who is the lady and why are you telling her to stay back when you obviously see that I’m here?”
“She’s none of your damn business.” He responded and at this point, Stella’s heart broke into multiple pieces as her tears rolled down,
For a second, she spotted a small smirk on Isabelle’s face before it was replaced with a frown,

“You really don’t have to talk to your girlfriend in that manner all because of me Dave. She has been so worried about you, I understand. I would have done the same thing if I were her.” Isabelle uttered amidst the silence, and Dave instantly
nodded his head,
All Stella could see in her eyes when she stared at them was a pretentious bitch who had feelings for Dave,
“If you respect that he has a girlfriend, then I think you should leave so I can talk to my boyfriend,” Stella muttered,
“Don’t talk to her in that manner,” Dave yelled,
“I’ll leave!” Isabelle interjected and rose to her feet. “I’ll leave Dave.” She continued and picked up her bag from the table,
Just as Isabelle held the doorknob, Dave grabbed her arm and uttered, “If you’re leaving, then I’ll take you home myself. I’m pretty sure you didn’t bring your car all because of me.”
Isabelle nodded her head, “Will your girlfriend allow that?” She questioned, but without glancing at Stella, Dave smiled and responded, “It doesn’t matter, I’ll be back once I drop you off.” He cocked his head towards Stella afterward,
“Wait here for me, Stella, I’ll be back.”
Just before Stella could utter a word in response, they both walked out of the office and shut the door behind them. She let out a loud scoff and walked over to one of the seats,
Stella could feel her heart aching badly and it was all because of Dave. Seated on one of the seats in the office, a tear rolled down Stella’s face,
This wasn’t her Dave. This wasn’t Dave who loved her with all his heart and promised her the world just a few weeks ago. This wasn’t the Dave who had promised to spend the rest of his life with her,
Something was wrong somewhere! Something had to be wrong, but Stella had no idea what was wrong. It was obvious that he was pushing her away,
A few minutes later, as Stella rubbed the tears on her face off, she clasped her legs together and picked up her bag from the floor, placing it on her legs,
Tucking her hand into her bag, Stella brought out an envelope, contemplating whether to open it or not,
The envelope was for Dave, but right now, letting him in on the surprise was the last thing she was going to do right now. Stella immediately tore open the tape closing the envelope and brought out the pregnancy result paper,
She opened it and kept staring at the line which indicated that she was pregnant and at that moment, all Stella could think about was her baby.
Tears rolled down her eyes again. This was supposed to be exciting for Dave, but right now she wasn’t sure anymore. After so many years of dating, they were finally expecting a baby, but things had to take an entirely different turn,
About an hour later, the sound of the door knob jerked an already tired Stella from her sitting position and when the door opened, Dave walked right into the office,
“Dave…” Stella uttered with a faint voice, managing to sit upright on the chair as she watched him walk over to his seat,
“S…so, to what do I owe this visit?” Dave questioned, but instead, Stella arched her brows,
“W…what’s going on? What the hell is wrong with you Dave? How can you treat me this way? It’s me, Stella; it’s your girlfriend, for goodness sake.” She half yelled, slamming her hands angrily on the table, but instead, he banged his fist on the table with force, leaving her to jerk in fright,

Hearing this, Stella’s tears refused to sit back and endure the pain,
“I have something to say, Stella, I’ll go first.”
Fear suddenly became evident in Stella’s eyes when she heard him and as she sniffled, she responded, “No, I have something to say as well, Dave, let me go first. If after I say this you still choose to act this way, then I really don’t know what else to do.”
Dave arched his brows as he watched her tears roll down. It was still hard for him to watch her cry no matter how much he had already grown to hate Stella,
He heaved deeply and nodded his head at her, “All right, you go first.” He uttered,
Stella clasped her palms together, and afterwards tucked her hand into her bag so she could get the results out,
She slowly slid it to his side, and swallowed a lump of saliva down her throat before she uttered,
“I…I’m pregnant Dave. I’m carrying your baby.”
