Chapter 4
When Ethan woke up, his hand impulsively pulled her body closer to his and he cuddled her in bed,
“Tonight was great, Olivia.” He muttered softly and planted a kiss on her forehead. When his eyes finally opened, Ethan arched his eyebrows when the sight right in front of him was Shirley and thankfully, she was asleep so she had not heard him.
He exhaled out a deep breath.
Did he just call Olivia’s name? Ethan thought as his heart kept pounding. Why the hell had he thought it was Olivia beside him and not Shirley
Looking around, Ethan suddenly realized that they were both in a hotel. They had spent the night there which meant Olivia was at home.
“Hey baby, good morning.” He heard Shirley’s voice and immediately snapped out of his thoughts,
“Morning baby, how was your night?”
Shirley sat upright close to him. She could see the worried look on his face and she knew what it was about.
She had heard him call Olivia’s name minutes ago when he woke up.
“It was fine. Last night was splendid, thank you for spending time with me. I can’t wait to finally be able to live with you, Ethan. No more hiding, no more secrets, we wouldn’t have to keep our relationship a secret anymore since you divorced Olivia, and lastly, we would raise this baby together as a family.”
Shirley knew what to do whenever she wanted to get under Ethan’s skin, all she had to do was mention the baby and he would soften up.
“Just give me a little more time and we won’t have to keep it a secret anymore. You can move in with me, Shirley, but I need more time to tell my family about us. I called off the meeting with my father yesterday because of your visit.”
The look on her face turned into a frown. When Ethan noticed this, he pulled her closer to himself and wrapped his arms around her body. He planted a kiss on her forehead afterward
“It won’t take time, Shirley. You know why I’m doing this. My father loved Olivia so much so I have to convince him that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Shirley nodded her head afterward and wrapped her arms around her, but that feeling of insecurity was still there even with his assurance
“Hmm, I wish we could stay like this forever, Ethan, I love you so much.”
She cuddled him tighter but their beautiful moment was disrupted by a call from Ethan’s assistant.
When Ethan saw the call, he rose to his feet immediately and answered it,
“Sir, it’s about your wife…” his assistant suddenly paused and corrected himself,
“Your ex–wife”
He had been the one to deliver the divorce agreement to Ethan a few days ago, and he had also been the one who handed it to the lawyer after Olivia had signed it so Luke was well aware of everything that was going on.
The only thing was that he hated it.

On most occasions, he had asked himself why Ethan hated someone as precious, sweet, kind, softhearted, and loving as Olivia. She was everything any man in the world would want so what was wrong? On the other hand, he hated Shirley so
much.
Luke was well aware that Shirley had been back months ago, but he was made to keep this a secret from Olivia by Ethan.
“Baby, it’s work, I’ll be back.”
Ethan uttered and when Shirley nodded her head, he began to head towards the bathroom.
“Talk to me, Luke, what’s going on with Olivia.”
“Earlier today I came to give her a copy of the divorce agreement and the files containing the properties you issued under her name, but she’s gone.”
Hearing this, Ethan arched his eyebrows in surprise,
“What?”
“She’s gone, sir. Every other thing is here, but she’s nowhere in the building.”
He scoffed aloud, gently rubbing his face with his palm. Olivia had dared to leave without telling him. The reason he had taken Shirley out of the house yesterday was so that she would feel comfortable and not leave so soon.
Although Ethan didn’t know why he did that, he just found himself doing it.
He wrecked his left finger into his hair still trying to process what Luke had just said, and it was at that moment the sound of a notification caught his attention.
He brought his phone close to his gaze and read the message carefully,
Debit alert,
5 thousand dollars deducted from account 230—-422 at the flourish hotel…
This was an earlier notification that he had failed to notice because he was too busy with Shirley yesterday to even check his phone, but then he read the new one,
Debit Alert,
10 thousand dollars was deducted from 230-422 account at Air Peace Airport.
“Airport?” Ethan tried to process what he had just read for a moment, but Luke’s voice snapped him out of whatever he was thinking,
“Sir, are you there?” Luke asked when there was no response from Ethan for over a minute,
“Block the airport immediately, my wife’s leaving the country, and when you find her, do not fucking let her leave,” Ethan ordered without the realization that he had called Olivia his wife. At this moment, the only thought that ran through his mind was to find her before she left. Yesterday he had wanted her to leave in a hurry so Shirley could move in with him, but now, what was wrong?
She did leave, but why couldn’t he just accept the fact that Olivia had left without saying a word to him, not even goodbye? Right now, it hurt to think that she didn’t love him as much as she always claimed to
In a hurry, he rushed out of the bathroom and the moment he found his shirt, he put it on.
“What’s wrong?” Shirley questioned, but Ethan had no time for long excuses so he simply responded,
