Chapter 43
Bryan sat down close to his laptop and kept staring at it. His mind raveled with so many thoughts and when he inhaled a deep breath in, he was finally able to calm himself down,
He had been staring at his family photo for a while and all he could feel inside of him was so much more rage than he felt years ago,
Maybe because he was finally in the country where it all started. He was in the same country where his life had been ruined so much to the point that he had thought of committing suicide in the past.
Luckily he was saved!!
He bit his lower lips till he could taste blood, and a light groan escaped his mouth afterward, “Ahhh shit!” He muttered, picking up the napkin filled with blood from the table and used it to clean the injured part of his lips,
His gaze darted down to his palm and the mini knife covered in blood on the table and he instantly shut down his laptop.
“Damn it!” Bryan murmured again. Causing himself pain by cutting his flesh wasn’t enough to pipe down the rage burning inside of him,
Thankfully, shutting down his laptop was
finally able to calm his rage down. He rose to his feet and headed towards the
waste bin, throwing the blood–soaked napkin into it.
It was almost time for Olivia to get back home so he had to act like the perfect boyfriend, but as he got to the door, his phone rang and he tucked his phone into his pocket,
“Hey man…” He answered the phone, stepped back into the room, and shut the door,
The one thing Bryan couldn’t afford was Noah hearing his conversation because the young lad was so fucking smart
even for his liking.
“Hey, Sandra’s going nuts over here.” The caller responded and Bryan arched his eyebrows in confusion,
“Baby, you coming soon? I wanna see you baby.” Bryan heard on the phone and he rubbed his eyes a little,
“What the hell is going on Derek? Why is she acting that damn way.” He questioned,
“She’s drunk!” Derek answered,
“Are you crazy? You had one job to watch over her and you couldn’t do it. What the freaking hell is wrong with you.”
“Well don’t blame me, Bryan! She found out you’re back in New York, and she’s been acting all crazy. Maybe you should
come see her.”
“I can’t. Olivia would soon be back. I can’t leave her son here all by himself.‘
“Well, you chose. Them or the love of your life.” Derek answered and Bryan let out a groan,
“Fuck you man! I’ll be there’soon.” He responded and ended the call almost immediately.
Thankfully, as soon as Bryan got to the living room, Olivia stepped into the house,
“Hi, baby.” He uttered, rushing towards her for a bug, and pecked her forehead,
“Are you going somewhere?” Olivia questioned, and he instantly nodded his head. “I’ve been looking out for potentiometer investors and I got a call from one of them. I set up a meeting as soon as possible but I won’t be late. I promise.”
Olivia nodded her head tiredly, “Okay, be careful babe.” She uttered and shut her eyes as he pecked her again before walking out of the house.
She had returned home hoping to see her little pumpkin run to her for a hug, but sadly, Noah was asleep. She chuckled as she sighted the small drawing board on his chest as he slept and walked towards him,
Carefully, Olivia raised his hand, taking the board out of his grip so he could sleep more comfortably,
When she turned it around, her heart shattered at what Noah had drawn and Olivia couldn’t help but keep staring at it,
A few seconds later, her gaze darted to Noah, and she heaved deeply. He had drawn a perfect family picture of him, a baby girl, and a dad.
She sat down close to Noah and planted a kiss gently on his forehead,
It was hurting so much depriving him of any knowledge about his father, but that was the only best way to protect her son. Ethan didn’t deserve to be in their lives once again, and the only way Olivia thought of giving Noah a complete family was to get married as soon as possible.
But the only problem was that her feelings for Bryan weren’t strong enough to marry him just yet.
“Keep every file I need to go through on hold for now until tomorrow,” Dave instructed a young blonde–haired lady as he tucked every other file into his suitcase and put on his suit jacket,
“Alright, have a lovely evening sir.” She responded and turned to leave, but suddenly halted,
“Oh, an envelope was sent in for you today sir. Would you like to see it?”
“Alright, I’ll take it with me,” Dave responded, and once she nodded, she walked out of his office immediately. Without wasting further time, he stepped out of his office and began heading towards the elevator.
“Here you go, sir.” Dave heard before he got to the elevator and turned around to collect the envelope, “Good job Maddy. Who is it from?”
“There wasn’t a name sir, but it was stated to be very important.”
He raised his brows as he heard but nodded his head and stepped into the elevator. As soon as the elevator halted, Dave stepped out, heading straight for his car,
Stella hadn’t been picking up her calls since they talked on the phone hours ago and it was unlike her. She had never missed his call without calling him back for this long,
up
As soon as he got into his car, he picked up the envelope which had been kept on the other seat and began comin’s
Noticing a pile of pictures in it, Dave carefully brought out the pictures and his heart not only thumped so hard at the sight of what was right in front of him, but it also shattered into multiple pieces,
This was Stella in bed with another man who was masked and they were both naked together,
His eyes suddenly turned red, and his breathing became erratic,
Stella would never cheat, would she? They had known each other for so many years, and in all those years, he was certain she had never cheated on him, so why now? This certainly couldn’t be his Stella, it couldn’t be the woman he has known for so long.
Dave instantly ignited the engine and drove home as soon as possible. Without wasting any second, he stepped out of the car holding the picture with him as he rushed into the house,
He had expected Stella to come open the door for him and welcome him as usual but even after ringing the doorbell multiple times, there was still no response. In that instant, Dave had a strong feeling something was wrong. He inserted
the passcode to the house and got in as soon as the door opened,
Everywhere was damn quiet like there wasn’t a single soul in the house, but Dave ran up to the living room to meet it completely empty as well, and not only that,
Stella’s things were gone, too. He let out a loud scoff, trying as hard as possible not to break down until his gaze met with the letter on the drawer,
With a shaky hand, he picked it up and swallowed a lump of saliva down his throat before tearing it open,
He read loudly,
“GOODBYE DAVE. DON’T BOTHER SEARCHING FOR ME AND A BABY THAT ISN’T YOURS.”
This time around, Dave couldn’t hold back anymore, and as he squeezed the paper so tight in his palm, he instantly broke down completely
