“Eva, what do you mean? Do you know what it means to be hated? Tell me, baby.” Olivia responded, patiently waiting for a response as she stared at Eva,
Eva sniffled, “Mommy says I’m bad luck. She hates me for taking Daddy’s attention all the time. She doesn’t care about me…. S….she drags my ears all the time. Mommy doesn’t love me.” Olivia heard and her heart immediately shattered into multiple pieces,
She had no idea whether to believe Eva or not, but one thing she had learned in her course of study as a doctor was that little kids never lie and how they felt was so important. Right now, Eva’s feelings were real.
“And what else, baby? Tell me everything.” She murmured,
“Mommy and Daddy fight all the time because of me.” Eva completed and Olivia let out a deep sigh,
She raised her hand and gently began rubbing Eva’s hair as she responded, “Don’t say that. They don’t fight because of you. They simply have grown–up issues, and sometimes, grownups fight too.”
Olivia leaned closer and hugged Eva, rubbing her back gently when the door opened and Ethan walked right in,
“Are you ready?” He questioned and while Olivia cock her gaze towards him, she let out a small smile and nodded her head. Maybe Ethan was right and it was better to have Eva moved as soon as possible.
“Yes. We need to open up the hospital first and she’ll be brought in afterwards.”
“Good,” Ethan responded and walked towards Eva while Olivia rose to her feet. As she walked out of the ward and shut the door, Olivia let out a deep breath.
Because she knew Ethan better than anyone else, she knew he was holding himself back all because of
his daughter.
She let go of the doorknob and began to walk away, heading towards the elevator. When Olivia got out to where her car had been parked, she suddenly heard Ethan’s voice,
“Olivia, wait up.”
Aa Olivia let go of her door handle, she turned around to see Ethan running towards her,
“What’s wrong? Did I forget anything?” She questioned but while panting, Ethan shook his head in negation.
“No.” He uttered and moved closer to her, “Thank you.”
“For what?”

“For helping my daughter out, Olivia, thank you.”
Staring at him, Olivia clamped her lips but didn’t fail to see the sincerity in his eyes. She let out a deep sigh, “I’ll do my best to ensure she’s okay, Ethan. I should do that at least because you helped me too. and…. Because I can’t watch her go through
pain.”

Ethan let out a smile, “Dad still hasn’t forgotten you, Olivia. Even after so many years, he calls your name
every day.”
Olivia felt her heart thump a bit and at the same time, she felt so guilty. Ethan’s father loved her so much like his own daughter and even though she had heard he wasn’t in a good condition, she hadn’t gone to see
him,
“H….how is he?” She questioned, trying as much as possible to hide her emotions so Ethan wouldn’t notice her sense of guilt,
“What do you think? He hasn’t seen you for 6 long years, Olivia. How do you think he is? I feel even more sorry to tell him the truth about us at the moment.”
She swallowed a lump of saliva down her throat without uttering a word,
“I searched everywhere for you. Day and night, I couldn’t sleep with the thought that you were gone, and I felt like a part of me left along with you forever. I…”
“Ethan…” Olivia interjected but at this moment, her phone began to ring and she cleared her throat aloud, thankful that at least a distraction had stopped the conversation
“Hey, where are you baby? We’re at the hospital now.” Bryan uttered, and Olivia immediately darted her gaze away from Ethan,
“I’m on my way. I went out to see a patient first before heading to the hospital. I’ll be there shortly. What
about our son?”
There wasn’t a response from Bryan when he heard Olivia but a few seconds later, he responded,
“Noah’s good. He misses you so much and wants to see you baby. Call me as soon as you get here, okay.”
“Alright. Hove you.” Olivia uttered and at this moment, Ethan felt a part of his heart shatter into pieces but he kept mute, trying as hard as possible not to let his emotions so evident in front of Olivia,

His heart was breaking so much but there was nothing he could do,
As soon as Olivia ended the call, he darted her gaze back to Ethan,
“I have to go now. As soon as everything’s settled at the hospital, I’ll come get Eva.”
Ethan nodded his head, but as Olivia turned to leave, he held her wrist,

“I’m coming with you,” He muttered, but she arched her brows at him, “What?”
“I own 40 percent of GRO hospital, Olivia so don’t you think I should be there? I think my presence would

have a great influence on the hospital, don’t you think so?”
Olivia didn’t respond but instead, kept staring at him,
“Shall we? You don’t want to be late. Bryan’s waiting for you, isn’t he?” Ethan uttered and Olivia nodded her head,
He opened the door and stepped into the car without waiting for her. As soon as Olivia got in, she gently ignited the engine and started driving, but Ethan’s absence kept making her feel so uncomfortable.
Being in the same car with her ex–husband wasn’t something Olivia expected to happen again, but sadly, so many things kept making them be together.
She had even said ‘I love you‘ to Bryan earlier to make Ethan believe that she had moved on completely from him and didn’t want to talk about the past,
“I guess you found another man immediately after the divorce.” Olivia heard Ethan’s voice break the silence between them but the sudden question made the car come to an abrupt stop making Ethan hit his
head in the car,
“What the…”
He instantly darted his gaze to Olivia, “Are you okay?”
“Can we not talk while I drive? It could cause an accident and I really want to get to my boy in one piece.” She uttered but instead, Ethan chuckled before he nodded his head,
“What’s funny?” Olivia immediately questioned, but Ethan shut his eyes as he leaned back in his seat,
“You just gave me a familiar expression, Olivia. A really familiar one.” He responded but she rolled her eyes at him. Olivia still wasn’t going to believe that Ethan knew so much about her while they were married because she had always been the one who monitored the slightest thing about him and not the other way
around,
She ignited the engine once again and drove away. After about 20 minutes more, they finally arrived at the hospital,
As soon as Olivia stepped down from the car, Ethan did the same as well but was rather shocked when a young boy rushed up to Olivia and hugged her tight, screaming, “Mommy.”
Ethan had his gaze fixated on Noah for so many seconds that it was beginning to bother Olivia. He could have sworn the young boy had absolutely no resemblance with Bryan but rather himself,

He fluttered his brows and instantly took his gaze away from Noah,
“Mommy, is this the handsome man we met at the party?” Noah asked, and as Ethan stared at him, he let
out a chuckle.
“Handsome huh? At least he has pretty good eyes.”
“Yes baby,” Olivia muttered as she held his hand, “Don’t speak to strangers. What did I tell you about speaking to strangers?”
“He’s your friend, Mommy. Does that make him a stranger?” Noah questioned, and Olivia heaved deeply while Ethan ended up laughing out loud, “An incredibly smart boy, too; I’m truly impressed, I must say.”
“What are you doing here all alone? Where’s Uncle Bryan?” Olivia asked, but before Noah could respond, she heard Bryan’s voice as he was rushing towards her,
“Baby, hey. You’re here.”
“What happened? Why was Noah all alone?”
“I had to cross over and get him water. I forgot his bottle and his drugs are yet to…”
“That’s fine Bryan, no more.” Olivia immediately Interjected before Bryan could complete his statement, and for just a second, she stared at Ethan who had a confused look plastered on his face,
“Shall we?” Bryan uttered and Olivia instantly nodded her head.
As soon as Olivia darted her gaze away from Ethan, she held Noah’s wrist again and began to walk away
with him.
“Damn it!” She let out in a whisper. If Bryan found out about Noah’s condition, then he might be forced to believe that Noah was his son and she certainly didn’t want that to happen. Not now, not ever.
