Chapter 53
The call ended one more time, leaving Bryan extremely angry, and he instantly smashed the phone on his fingers on the wall, watching it shatter into pieces.
He let out a deep breath, thinking, what could Olivia be doing out there with Ethan? As Bryan’s heart raced, so many more thoughts ran through his mind. Olivia was probably on the verge of finding out who the hell he was, and everything he had worked for so many years would all be destroyed.
“What do we do now?” Bryan heard Derek’s voice and cocked his head towards him,
“What if she finds out?” He heard again, and shook his head in negation, picking up the beer right in front of his table,
“She wouldn’t. She’s too stupid to find out anything. Ethan wouldn’t have much on me, at least not enough to convince Olivia anything bad about me.” He responded while Derek nodded his head,
“We can’t have Ethan keep suspecting us when he’s the main target, Bryan. You have got to do something about him before everything goes south. You’ve waited for this day for over 20 years.”
As Bryan held his bottle again, his grip on it tightened around the hand of the big glass, and his eyes burned with rage..
“Something that would break him completely, that would divert his attention away from me until I fully get everything that I want from him. I need to hurt him just exactly where it hurts the most.” Bryan uttered, his mind thinking hard about what he could do, and when an idea finally hit him hard, a smile appeared on his face.
“You got something?” Derek stated as soon as he saw the formed smile on Bryan’s face,
“Let’s pay Ethan Fordham’s father a sudden visit. He deserved to know just a little about me, don’t you think?” Bryan tilted his gaze to Derek as he questioned, and once he gulped down everything in the big bottle, he rose to his feet and began to head out of the small bar.
Olivia halted her car right in front of the hospital. As she stepped out of the car, she tucked her hand into her bag and brought out her phone.
When she dialed Bryan’s number again, it was still switched off. He had called her multiple times while she was with Ethan, but she couldn’t pick up any of it because Ethan wouldn’t let her do so.
Olivia began heading into the hospital, and halted when she got to the counter, facing a nurse,
“How’s the patient in VIP room 260?” She questioned,
“He’s asleep, Doctor Olivia. I checked up on him a few hours ago to ensure he had no unattended needs.”
Olivia nodded her head and uttered, “Thank you.” Then she began to walk away, heading to her office. As she sat down on her office seat, she shut her eyes in frustration, taking a deep breath in when a call came in,
“How are the kids?” She asked the nanny as soon as she picked up the call, rolling her seat sideways,
“Both Noah and Eva are having a great time playing outside together. I keep an eye on them while preparing them a snack.” The nanny uttered, and Olivia let out a slight chuckle,
“The kids must you giving you a lot of stress, nanny.”
“No ma’am, I love them so much. They seem to always watch each other at all times.” The nanny responded, which not only brightened the smile on Olivia’s face but also made her feel so much joy in her heart.

“Alright, thank you, Nanny. The kids would spend three more day’s with you, after which I would come pick them up myself. Have a nice day, okay.”
“Okay, ma’am.”
As soon as the call ended, Olivia dropped her phone on the table, deciding it was finally time to get some work done since she had checked up on the kids. When suddenly, Shirley came to her mind,
“I really wonder how she’s doing?” She
murmured to herself and let out a small sigh,
Shirley was at the mental hospital, and even though Olivia knew that she deserved it, she still felt so much pity for her. She had tried to hurt
Eva countless times during her cancer treatment just to get back at Ethan, and at the last moment, Olivia had caught her.
To Ethan, it only meant that Shirley was crazy and needed therapy, and most importantly, she had to be away from their daughter for as long as she could.
Ethan couldn’t take the risk of anyone hurting his daughter, not even her mother, so instead, he took Eva to a safe place, but to keep her
calm, Olivia had to let Noah go along with her.
After all, she was scared Shirley could come at any time to hurt her child.
Olivia picked up her pen from the desk when suddenly there was a knock on
the door,
“Come in.” She uttered, dropping her pen back on the desk. When the door opened, Bryan walked in and rushed towards her
Seeing Bryan walk into her office, Olivia rose to her feet and then moved forward while he pulled her into a tight hug,
“What the hell happened? You weren’t picking up my calls. I called so many times, yet you weren’t picking up. What happened? Is it that bastard?” Bryan yelled, but Olivia shook her head in negation as she held his hand, trying to calm him down.
“No, Bryan, I’m fine. Ethan didn’t do anything to me, I promise.” She uttered,
“What happened?”
“That was the only way to protect me from the goons chasing after me. I tried to call you, but I couldn’t.” Olivia lied, knowing that Ethan had been the first person she had called when she was so scared. She still couldn’t figure out why, but every part of her chose to call him instead of Bryan. Every part of her wanted Ethan and not Bryan.
Bryan gently rubbed her hair as he pulled her head close to his chest and kissed her forehead,
“I’ll get the police involved in everything that happened, okay?” He murmured, and Olivia nodded her head,
“Are you okay?” He questioned,
“I’m fine,” Olivia responded as they broke the hug/She headed back to her seat and sat down while Bryan came closer,
“I want to go see the kids tonight, I’d probably stay with them till tomorrow. Is that fine with you?”
Bryan let out a small smile as she heard and nodded his head. This was just the perfect opportunity to get whatever he wanted done tonight.
“Do you want me to come along with you?” He questioned, but Olivia shook her head, “No. I’ll be fine on my own, okay, I promise.” She responded.
“Alright, I’ll head back home now. I love you, okay?” Bryan uttered, and with a few seconds‘ hesitation, Olivia responded, “I love you too.”
He nodded his head, turned around, and walked away, but as he shut the door, a small sneer escaped his lips.

“What a gullible woman.” He murmured to himself, walking towards the elevator. When it opened and Bryan stepped in, he tucked his hand into his pocket and brought out his phone,
“Derek, get everything ready for tonight. I have a feeling the perfect opportunity is tonight.” He uttered and ended the call afterwards.
