Chapter 58
Olivia sat in her car, like she had been for the past two hours, debating whether this was a good idea.
That debate had gone on for even longer than that. Maybe it was wiser to let Dr Jay handle it; he was a resident, so this was basically in his line of work.
Attendees never bothered themselves with things like informing the relatives about the death of their loved ones.
That was the second hardest part of being a doctor, so most of them claimed that they left it as a form of experience for the residents
To Olivia, her patients were like family; she loved them and treated them like such
Whether it was a form of self–loathing or punishment, she always made the death call herself and always informed the relatives herself.
But at this point, all she could think of was driving out back home and going under the blanket to crash out
Ethan must have already been alerted to her presence the before he came out to know what was wrong.
moment she entered the gate, and she knew that it was just a matter of time
Olivia wiped her sweaty palms on her trousers, and she fiddled with the keys to her car nervously as she walked up the stairs leading to
Ethan’s home.
She had come straight from the hospital, having never gone home the previous night.
Her hair was packed in a messy bun and she had on palazzo trousers with a corset top. Her face was devoid of any makeup, and the bags
beneath her puffy and swollen eyes were very visible
She bit her lips nervously as she stood in front of the access system
Ethan had invited her into the system, so she could access the house whenever she wanted. Those were the kinds of things that Ethan did
He was so nice and considerate, even with things concerning the kids, he carried her along.
How on earth was she supposed to tell him that she could not save his father?
She knew that news would kill him; he loved his father so much that she had no idea how he would take such a loss.
But at the end of the day, no matter how much she dallied, she had to inform him of what happened; it would be better for him to hear it from her than from someone else.
She took a deep breath and looked into the access system, which scanned her eyes. Then she placed her finger on the screen, and immediately her fingerprints were scanned, and the door clicked open
Olivia jumped at the clock, her heart racing. She tried desperately to calm herself before she had to go inside.
Maybe sending a message to him that early was not a good idea; she only hoped that he had not already deduced what had happened.
“I have been wondering if you were going to stand at the door all day.” Ethan’s deep baritone voice resounded around the room with a
chuckle
She looked up to see him wearing sweatpants, the waistband of his Calvin Klein briefs peeking from the top of the sweatpants.
He had obviously just gotten out of the bathroom judging by the water that dripped from his hair onto his chest, tracing out all the contours of his hard body.

Chapter 58
His body was so goddamn beautiful, his bricked chest, to his packed abs, and that fucking Vline that made you want to know what else h had packed there
“Are you going to stare at me all day?” Ethan asked playfully with a smirk, breaking Olivia from her trance.
‘What the fuck is wrong with me?‘ Olivia muttered under her breath, she could not
she dropped such heartbreaking news to him
“The tips of your ears are red again. “Ethan said with a chuckle
believe she had been caught checking him out, and before
“You don’t need to be embarrassed about anything. You know how I feel towards you and what I want. So even if you stare at me all day, I would feel like I am being stared at by the most perfect woman in the world.” Ethan said as he walked towards her
“Please don’t,” Olivia murmured weakly. Ethan I always known she was weak when it came to him, and now he was using that advantage.
Despite the air conditioning in the house, Olivia
could feel sweat and moisture behind her neck.
“Hey, you don’t look so good,” Ethan said as he placed the back of his palm on her forehead
“You’re shivering and sweating at the same time, and you seem to be burning up the couch to sit. This time, he had started to worry about her.
“Let me call the doctor, you must be coming down with something.”
Ethan picked up his phone, about to dial the doctor’s line
‘If he called the hospital, they would inform him of his father’s death‘
This thought played in Olivia’s mind as she jumped to grab the phone from him
“Olivia?” Ethan called in confusion
“I am fine, please don’t call the doctor.”
well. Come here, come sit.” Ethan said as he led her to
“You are obviously not fine, your temperature is really high. You need to be checked out.”
“I said I am fine. Did you forget I’m a doctor? I can take
e of myself.”
“Olivia, is everything okay?”
“Yes, everything is okay, I am okay.”
“Did Bryan do something? Talk to me, Liv,”
“Please don’t call me that,” Olivia muttered. The news was weighing her down so much that she could not bear for Ethan to call her that name when she failed to save the most important person to him. She could not just bear it
“Did I do something wrong? I am sorry. But please let me take care of you.” Ethan pleaded, looking into her eyes questioningly
“Please”
“Stop it, nothing is wrong.”
“You know you can tell me anything, right? Lam just concerned
“I just need to sleep it off, that’s all, am okay.”
Chapter 58
MD Aug
“You’re forgetting I know you more than anyone else in the world does, Liv. I can tell something is wrong just by staring into your eyes Remember, whenever you feel so scared or nervous you tend to fall sick and even pass out, so talk to me.” Ethan urged. He wasn’t planni on letting whatever was wrong with her off so easily. He had to hear it because he was sitting worried, staring at her,
“Your dad is dead, he died early this morning.” Olivia blurted out and Immediately burst into tears,
“What?!” Ethan exclaimed, colour draining from his face.
