Chapter 69
Bryan looked around the conference room, realizing that Ethan was absent, and a smile crept at the corner of his lips. Was it possible that his plan had worked?
He thought as he fiddled with the pen in his hand
“I need an update on the situation. What is happening?” He turned his head and whispered to his assistant sitting beside him
“Yes, sir.” The assistant said and left the conference room immediately.
Looking at the silver wristwatch on his left wrist, he saw that there were just two more minutes left for the conference to start.
The doors were going to be locked once the pitches began, and if Ethan did not make it before the pitching began, then he was sure to win this project
He bopped his leg anxiously, his eyes searching for Olivia.
Why was she not here, too? Did that mean they were together? Both of them were absent, they were the only ones absent
Rage coursed through him. Why on earth could Ethan not remove his hands from things that belonged to him
The project was his, Olivia was his, and everything was his. He hated the fact that Ethan did not even feel the least threatened by him.
“Sir, the car Mr Ethan rode in encountered an accident.” The assistant reported to Bryan as he got back in
“Was there anyone else in the car?” Bryan asked, clenching his fist around the pen he had been twiddling with earlier
“Yes, a woman was with him.” The assistant replied
“What?” He exclaimed and left the conference hall in a hurry, forgetting that the conference was about to begin. Entering a nearby room, he grabbed the
assistant by his collar
“Are you so stupid that you did not think to check if my wife would be in the car with him before your men ran him over?!”
“I am sorry, sir, we did not think that…” The assistant stuttered
“That is the problem, you never think, you never do. I asked that no matter what, Ethan should not attend this conference, so that he would not be able to make any out and get the project, and instead of a ring within the ambit of my instructions, you decided to be stupid and ruin everything for me instead. If anything happens to Olivia, I am going to fucking kill you, do you hear that?!”
Now, get out!” He yelled and the assistant immediately scurried out of the room
“Fuck! Maybe I should have killed him immediately, but then he just had to take her into the car with him. It’s almost like he is purposely testing what ! will do. I am going to destroy him so badly that there is nothing he will be able to do to get back on his feet. He thinks his father’s death was the last straw, but that is just the beginning.” Bryan mumbled to himself, his fingers clenched into a fist before he stormed out of the room
Olivia stifled her gasp with her hand, tears running down her face as she hid behind the door
When she had seen Bryan entering, she had just been curious as to find out why he was so angry but had not expected to hear what she just heard.
Bryan had ordered Ethan’s car to be ridden over, and what did he mean when he spoke about Ethan’s father?
Olivia was trying with everything in her to stay still till she heard the door shut
She released a deep breath she had been holding in, with shaky hands, she grabbed her phone from her pocket and dialed a number

“I need your help.”
“What do you mean that the conference has been cancelled?” Bryan burst out in anger a
along with the other investors
“The second partner of Dr Bio corporations is unable to join us today, hence the conference will have to be moved. The new date will be communicated to everyone“.
“Who is this partner? How important is he that this conference would be cancelled because of his absence? This is unprofessional.” Bryan interjected, and the other investors supported him
“This partner owns 70% of the Dr Bio corporation. Dr Bio himself just owns 30% of the corporation. We are sorry for the inconvenience.” The secretary said, took a bow, and left the conference room
Bryan was left with his jaw hanging in shock. All this while, he had been targeting Dr Bio, but there was someone more powerful.
Who on earth was this person, and why had he never heard of this till now?
He thought as he slammed the door to his car in anger. All his efforts in trying to get rid of Ethan were for nothing
Was it a guardian angel or what? Why on earth did nothing seem to work out when he made plans for Ethan
He punched the steering wheel of his car in anger, biting his lips to stifle his shout
“What hospital was my wife and Ethan taken to?” He asked his assistant over the phone
“Kennedy’s memorial”
Once he got the response, he ended the call abruptly and sped off to the hospital
“Two people who were involved in an accident were rushed into this hospital earlier. Please, I would like to see the lady.” Bryan said to the nurse at the reception, a charming smile on his face.
“Who are you? Are you related to the patient?“The nurse asked
“Yes, I am her fiancé. I really need to see her and know what condition she is in. My heart breaks with every minute that passes. Please.” He pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion
“I am so sorry, sir. Your fiancee is stabilised, she is in room 303.” The nurse said, filled with so much sympathy, as Bryan ran off immediately
He must really love her, the nurse thought with a smile; she had also noticed how good–looking he was but kept wondering why his fiancée was brought in with another man.
Once Bryan found the room, he opened the door and stopped in his tracks
“Shirley” He half yelled in shock, his voice barely above a whisper
