“Thank you, I am indebted to you,” Olivia said as she sat across a man wearing an Italian tailor–made suit
“It is no bother. I am indebted to you, not the other way round. I have not forgotten how you saved my daughter, and I promised to do anything to repay you.” The man said, his Korean accent very thick.
“You caníe all the way from Korea at my request, and now you must wonder what on earth I was thinking to have made such a mess of things.”
“I would admit that your actions confuse me a lot, but I have faith that you are doing everything for a reason.”
“Thank you, John Kim. Your trust is not misplaced.” Olivia said as she held the cup of coffee in her hands, her fingers still pale with the shock of her discovery
“I had the documents arranged, all that is needed is your signature.” Mr John Kim said as he brought out some documents and placed them in front of Olivia
“I know that I had asked you to prepare these documents, but I fear that they will have to wait a while before we can do the transfer. New information has come to light that makes doing this transfer very dangerous, I cannot bear for any of my loved ones to come to harm if the worming person finds out about this.” Olivia said, deep in thought
“Okay, that is fine. Whenever you are ready to make the transfer, just inform me.”
“Yes, thank you.” She replied, watching as he rose to his feet to take his leave.
Finally, alone, Olivia dropped the cup of coffee that she had been holding to reduce the shaking of her hands on the table
“Pull yourself together, Olivia. Pull yourself together.” She whispered to herself, tears rolling down her face
What did all this mean? Bryan was not who she thought he was. So all this while, everything that had happened was because of Bryan.
Despite hearing him by herself, she could still not believe it. It seemed all too crazy
She had checked, and indeed, Ethan and Shirley had been in an accident. They had been run over by a car. If she had not overheard Bryan, she would have thought it was just an accident and nothing more
But now she knew that Bryan had it out for Ethan, but the question was why
How much did she know about Bryan? Olivia thought to herself
She only knew the little he told her about, she didn’t know the details of his childhood and his family
He had only said he lost his family in an accident, leaving him alone in the world and she had felt sorry for him.
In her defense, she was going through a tough time back then and was not interested in encouraging suitors, but Bryan was very persistent
He had ignored her attitude and divulged to her the story about his family. Immediately, Olivia’s heart melted, and she acted nicer towards him.
Bryan was very good–looking, charming, and considerate. It did not take long for her to develop feelings for him, even if she was unable to open her heart fully to him, Bryan never pushed her
Most of all, he had accepted Noah. That was something most men didn’t do, no man wanted to raise the child of their partner’s former lover
She had told him what transpired between her and Ethan, and Bryan had been very understanding about it
He didn’t push her at any point to make a decision; he let her take things as slowly as possible, and most of all, Noah liked him, at least more than any other man who had come into their lives.

Chapter 70
Was everything a lie???
Was it all a façade?
Olivia wondered, her fingers pressing at the knot that had formed at the base of her neck.
Maybe she had misheard, she was stressed and confused, maybe she had heard wrongly
There was no way that Bryan would try to have Ethan killed over a project, right?
Then Olivia began to remember little things she had overlooked concerning Bryan
Sometimes, he made some comments that made Olivia wonder, but she had always excused them and given a reason for them
And his absence at crucial times, she knew Bryan did some shady things relating to his business, but she did not think it was this awful
Last year, Bryan had been in a headlock with the CEO of a corporation concerning an oil contract.
What was that man’s name again?
Olivia pursed her lips in thought
Yes! Silas
She had known that Bryan would lose the contract, that she had even thrown a small dinner party for him to cheer him up, just for her to hear that the Silas man had been killed by his political rivalry, and Bryan had been awarded the contract
Olivia had never thought that Bryan had anything to do with that; she had believed it to be a stroke of luck
All the times that Bryan was lucky, did it mean he found a way to get rid of his opposition, or was that how he had built his company
Her phone vibrated on her thighs, knocking her off her train of thought.
She looked at the caller ID. It was Bryan
By now, he must have realised that she was not the one in the car with Ethan and must be looking for her
A shiver ran down my spine. How on earth was she going to talk to a murderer, sleep on the same bed with one?
She had to end things with him immediately, but then, how would he take it? She had no proof of anything he had done to involve the police
She had to get proof one way or the other
The ringing stopped, and she heayed a sigh of relief
“What was that thing he said about Ethan’s father? Was it possible that Bryan could have killed him
Olivia began to think back to that day Ethan’s father had been okay, she had been confident that he was going to be okay, and the next minute, he was
dead
Then she remembered the light she had seen when she was about to get into her car. The VIP floor could only be accessed by a few, and the rounds had already been done
Was that light a clue??
Her phone began ringing again
Bryan could not find out that she was on to something; she had to pretend like everything was fine

Chapter 70
Taking a huge breath, she picked up her phone
“Olivia, where have you been? Why have you not been picking up your call? I have been looking for you.” Bryan’s worried voice came through the
receiver
“I am sorry, I had an urgent call from a patient.
“But I went to the hospital…” Bryan started
“It was a house call, a VIP patient. I am on my way home now.” Olivia said hurriedly and ended the call so the fear in her voice wouldn’t let him catch on to something.
She could only hope that her suspicions were wrong and misplaced.
