Elena would basically be ruined.
For Alyssa to get her way, she needed to sweeten the blow with a little treat. As to what that was…
Alyssa grinned, satisfied. Helping Elena crush Megan and take over as Jimmy’s girlfriend was the carrot dangling at the end of the stick.
The tension that had been weighing on Alyssa eased as she thought it through.
Glancing at Samuel, who had jumped into action, she reminded him, “I have to come out as the victor in today’s event.”
Samuel looked up, not comprehending why Alyssa was repeating herself.
Noticing his confusion, Alyssa added, “As for that woman’s media strategy, I’ve got another plan prepared for her.”
Then she leaned closer and whispered something in his ear.
Samuel nodded thoughtfully, and they traded a knowing smile.
Meanwhile, Jimmy had left Megan’s private waiting room to attend to another matter, leaving Jessie behind to take care of her.
As Jessie scrolled through her phone, her brow furrowed.
“Weird,” mused Jessie.
Megan, who had recovered somewhat after resting, asked, “What is it?”
Jessie handed her the phone. “Elena, I’m looking at the online chatter. Everyone’s debating whether ‘Micro Love‘ or ‘Yesterday Revisited‘ is better. But here’s the strange part.”
She opened a live stream video and frowned. “What’s with the poor quality?”
One glance was enough for Megan to understand; it was a common tactic in their industry. But Megan wasn’t just any artist–she was Ferrell Entertainment’s leading star.
On top of that, Jimmy’s fiery temper was infamous; nobody in their circles dared to cross her for fear of
provoking him.
Unless, of course, that person was more powerful than Jimmy. Someone like Howard.
Which meant there was only one person who could have pushed the production team into doing this. Alyssa.
Megan scrolled through the forums, reading comments about “Micro Love” and “Yesterday Revisited“.
Chapter 40
The whole thing struck her as amusing.

People were waxing poetic about it being a battle between one’s first love and greatest love. After all, the song she had written and the one she had sung were being pitted against each other.
Megan chuckled and set the phone aside.
Jessie carefully took the phone from her. She wanted to observe Megan’s expression, but it was hidden under her mask. Jessie couldn’t get a read on her.
After a moment’s hesitation, Jessie asked, “Elena, should we tell Mr. Jimmy and let him handle this?”
Megan shook her head. With Jimmy’s impatience, he had probably figured it out long ago and was already
scheming.
At that thought, Megan called Jimmy.
Perhaps he had been busy; Jimmy didn’t pick up on the first ring.
Just when she thought he wouldn’t pick up, the call suddenly connected.
“Elena,” Jimmy said. “What’s up?”
As promised, he always called her Elena whenever she wore the mask.
Watching the live stream in front of her, Megan said calmly, “It’s time to serve them the legal notice.”
