Chapter 1
(Lily’s POV)
It’s senior year, and my 15th birthday.
This is the chapter of my life that is supposed to feel really different, the part where I feel loved and accepted, but nothing feels different.
The school’s hallway stretched to a limitless end.
For me, it was like a walk of shame, just like how it has always been.
I tried hard to subdue the voices in my head, but there was almost nothing I could do about it.
Ravena and Vaelith: my Wolf and Demon.
Where Ravena consoled me, urging me to endure the students disgusted looks and focus on the possibility of meeting my mate today. Vaelith, however, had enough. She craved bloodshed and wanted to rip out the heart of anyone who so much as glanced at me.
“Monster”
Cursed
I closed my eyes briefly, my hand tightened against my bag strap as I fought for control.
“Daughter of a traitor. She should be hanged.” I heard a loud snort.
Anger surged in me, like a short spark. But I never stopped walking or turned around to look at the person who commented.
Ravena was pleased.
Then trouble came.
I smelt her before I saw her.
A Leavy dose of Vanilla, which was both from her wolf’s smell and her expensive perfume.
Celeste
Before I could dodge, she shoved me into the locker, my shoulder hit hard against the metal, pain shot through me and I groaned, galling to the floor in a heap.
Celeste gasps. “Whoops! Didn’t see that ugly thing there.” She mocked. The students who gathered around laughed, their snickers hitting me like sharp blades.
The hallway echoed with their mockery, Celeste’s minions, laughing the loudest, like hungry hyenas that fed off my pain.
“Enough. Ravena, Don’t talk of control. It’s time to mess these kids up” Vaelith growled in my head
Ever unce my shift, Celeste and everyone else never ceased to look down on me. I was labeled a monster for having a tialf wolf and half demon
but that was no fault of mine. It wasn’t something I could control, but I was treated like an abomipation for it
It was enough I had to stand up for myself.

Shadows shanked out from beneath me, like deaths whispers, my claws extended and my eyes blazed a crimson red.
The air crackled with electricity and suddenly, laughter turned in gasps of as the students collapsed one after the other, holding their throat

and begging to breathe..
I smiled. Vaelith’s voice filtered in. “Yes. This is exactly what I mean. Let them have a taste of death.”
My smile grew wider when 1 suddenly heard a sharp snap in front of my face and in a beat, everything disappeared:
It was all an illusion.

th” Celeste asked. She shook her head and sneered. “Daydreaming again weren’t you?”
“Did you just laugh?”
I took deep breaths. Even though all Vaelith had done was to plant those imaginations, I desperately wanted them to be real. Maybe not this time, but one day, and I would eventually show them exactly who was more powerful.
“You are not him,” Ravena whispered to me. “You are different from your birth father. Always remember that.”
Those words did nothing to comfort me.
I clenched my fists. I could feel the pain rush through me as my claws dug into my skin.
Living with two very different voices in my head has never been easy. It was almost like I was split into two, unsure which one exactly was me.
Before I turned sixteen, there were no dark voices whispering things to me, but the moment I shifted, everything changed
At sixteen I lost my family and lost myself
I was too focused on my thoughts. I didn’t notice Celeste’s glare hardened on me.
“You must think this is a joke.” Celeste sneered. “You are still smiling.”
I didn’t intend to, but Vaelith inside me was grinning from ear to ear.
Celeste hand shot out, her claws extended as she aimed for my face. I closed my eyes, expecting pain to flood me, but all I heard was a voice that boomed through the hallway.
Suddenly, the excitement in the air shifted, and the hallway became silent. I knew who it was before I opened my eyes.
Zion
The prince of the realm.
He was followed by his two best friends Lucien and Kade, who walked towards union looked like a god, the 6’5 definition of perfection with silky hair and blue eyes, the kind that makes you feel like you are suddenly in front of the ocean.
The crowd instantly parted for him. Girls scurried to the side, fixing their hair and smoothing their dresses. Some could hardly hold in their excitensent as they squealed.
Finally he came into sight.
I swallowed
“Damn He keeps getting firiert Vaclith, and Ravena whispered.
Deep in my heart, I wish hell become our mate…
Celeste immediately hurried to his side and latched herself to him like leech.

“Are you okay?” Zion asked, but his voice lacked the warmth I was looking for. It was like he asked out of duty not concern.
I nodded
Zion pursed his lips slightly and tucked his hands into his pocket still looking down at me.
“Happy birthday. He started. “You should come for my hall this evening, to celebrate.” He finished.
